Christmas

We had a good time this year. There were choir concerts, Santa Clause, lights, family, and lots of presents. Zack had two choir concerts this season. He is really enjoying the children's choir that he is in. Abby liked all the lights. She says lights with a southern accent. It was fun to hear her exclaim Lights every time she saw new lights. Maggie just took it all in.
Christmas morning was a delight. The kids loved what they got my favorite comment of the day was Zack's " THANK YOU SANTA CLAUSE" It was a classic. Here are some pictures of the kids through out the month.

Maggie's 1st Birthday

Image
Image
Maggie turned 1 on Nov. 18th. We had cake and opened presents. Abby really liked the toy we got for Maggie and wasn't real happy about sharing. Now that Maggie is one she likes to point at what she wants, she likes to bug Abby, and she likes to pick up whatever is on the floor and eat it. She doesn't think that she needs to take a nap or go to bed at night. She thinks she can do whatever Abby does. I'm afraid the fighting between the two girls is just beginning and we are in for it.

One more Milestone

Our little Maggie is finally crawling. She has finally decided it is easier to bother Abby if she just moves to where Abby is. It has opened up a whole new world of crazy. I can say that I have been glad this day didn't come sooner because it is hard enough keeping up with Abby but I am grateful that Maggie is moving through the stages of life.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears Oh My

For Halloween we had lions, tigers, and bears. The kids had a ton of fun trick or treating but before all that could happen we had to have a few smashed pumpkins. Zack spent the day before carving his pumpkins with Brad. They had them out on the porch ready for the big day. On halloween Zack got home from school and was playing outside. When I checked on him he was busy smashing our jack o lanterns. I asked him what he was doing and he said that we didn't need them anymore because it was halloween. I guess he missed the part of the holiday where the pumpkins are supposed to have candles in them and decorate your house that night. I got a big kick out of it, but he didn't like me telling everyone about his little venture.
Abby loved the idea of people giving her candy so she figured out how to get lots of it. She had someone else holding her bucket and they would make sure that she got candy, then they would turn and walk away. She would go up to the door and the people thought she was cute and would give her more candy to put in her bucket. Hence a double dose of everything at each door. They came home with more candy then we needed and are still working on it.

4th of July

ImageWe did lots of fireworks for the 4th of July. Abby wanted to touch each one and succeeded in getting a burn on her head from a sparkler. It was a surface burn and she didn't even cry.

Summer Fun

So the kids have managed to have a lot of fun so far this summer. They thought it would be great to put grass in Abby's hair. It took forever to get it out. I said no more grass in Abby's hair.
ImageImageMaggie was having so much fun at seven peaks that she fell asleep holding her bottle. She didn't even drink very much. I guess swimming in the water wore her out.

ImageAbby loved playing on the tube and in the water. She thought life was great at seven peaks. Zack and Brad ran and did all the water slides. Zack's favorite is the one we call the toilet bowl.

ImageAbby and Zack helped Brad mow the lawn. Abby's little feet were brown on top and green on the bottom. The girl won't keep her shoes on.

Floods

So the weekend that we blessed Maggie my niece Codi flooded our bathroom. When her Dad told her she didn't need to use a whole roll of toilet paper she told him she didn't she only used a half of a roll. We got it all cleaned up and everything was fine. No damage done. Well two weeks later another niece was over and she and Zack left the water running into the window well that goes into our family room. They flooded the family room. We were very blessed and had many helping hands and got everything dried out quickly. The room was no worse for the wear. We were very lucky in both incidents. We are done with water. I don't want any more floods. All of the nieces and nephews are on alert and knows that Aunt Becca might kill them if they flood one more part of her house. With so much water you would think that I would have taken some pictures. Nope. Not a one. So I have no proof of the floods.

Sealing and Blessing

This last weekend was a busy one for us. We were able to take Maggie to the Jordan River Temple and have her sealed to us. It was a neat experience for all of us. Abby was able to wear her blessing dress because it hasn't been a year since we had her sealed and her dress now comes just above her feet. I was so excited. We got two uses out of it. Maggie's dress was so cute and I am grateful that I have a talented Aunt who made both dresses for us. Then on Sunday we did her blessing. It was a neat blessing. By the end of the weekend we were all exhausted. We had a good time with all of our family and the pictures show a little bit our our day.

Last Days of School

Zack has made it through kindergarten and the last days were full of fun activities. I have put some of the pictures on of what he did those days as well as what the girls were doing to pass the time.

Maggie's Finalization

On May 23rd Maggie officially became ours. The judge was thrilled to have an adoption. I gathered that his work for the day wasn't all so pleasant. He came right down to take pictures and wanted to hold the girls. Our families were there to support us and it was a good day.

Wow Time Flies

So the last time I posted anything was in February and that is telling you a little bit about how beusy my life has been. Brad finished spring semester and has now started summer. I just pray he does well. We have a court date for Maggie and a sealing and blessing date. We go to court on May 23rd and are doing the sealing and blessing the first weekend in June. Zack has lost a tooth and the second one is hanging by a thread. He won't let me pull it because it hurts when I do it. He is also almost done with kindergarten. He can't wait for summer. I will finish teaching preschool for the year next week and am looking forward to not having to teach for a few months. Abby is a big girl now. She has a big girl bed. I am hoping she will potty train this summer. She is interested and likes sitting on the potty. She is also getting so big. She now says milk, purple, uh oh, and up.
We had a lot of fun for Easter. Cousins got together and looked for Easter Eggs and we went to Smiths for there candy hunt. We came home with so much candy we are still trying to get rid of it. Other then that we are just busy trying to keep track of all the kids and help Brad with school. We have decided that they should put my name on his degree. I wasn't planning on getting a degree in construction management. We hopefully only have a year left. I will be so glad when it is done. I am tired of dealing with the University. Anyway that is about where we are these days. I will have to post some pictures soon. We took some cute ones at Easter but will be getting some done with the sealing.

Pictures

Image
ImageHere are a couple of pictures of the girls. I will have to get some good ones posted. When I find the time to do it. We have been dealing with the flu this last week. Zack started with it and continued most of a week and then I got it and Brad got it. Luckily the two girls haven't gotten it. I am knocking on wood that they stay healthy. Maggie is 3 months now and still in newborn clothes. Some day she will get out of them. Abby is walking and a menace to society. Zack calls her Dennis. Zack is busy with school and looking forward to warmer weather.
