Little Boys and their toys

Image

Rowen has been enthralled with Lawnmowers ever since we bought our new one. He expected Daddy to use it everyday immediately after he came home from work, many times to Rowen's disappointment.

Rowen was given a toy lawnmower by his Aunt Cathy and her kids and he has been in love with it ever since!

Last night Brian went out to finish mowing down the wild back yard and Rowen went out to mow with Daddy!

Another point about the pair of mowing men...Brian wears a ball cap when he mows to keep his hair back. Ro decided it was part of the uniform for the job and he insists on wearing a ball cap too (he just happens to have a couple)...it is just so cute!

I'm old!

Well...my eye sight has changed on me a bit since I turned 40/had Kelvin in October. My near vision is really blurry and it has been bothering me. So, I made an appointment with the eye Dr and had that appt. today (4/28). Come to find out it is common for this to happen once one turns 40 (the eye muscles start to get weak). My far sight is perfect!!

My options: to get "cheaters" as the doc calls them, the reader glasses you can get at the store (the granny glasses style...the 1/2 glasses that sit on your nose) or get bifocal glasses to wear all the time.

For the time being, I am going to try the "cheaters" and see how I do with those, and if those don't work for me (the switching back and forth) then I will see about the 2nd option.

I'll post pictures of my self in my "granny glasses" or "cheaters" once I pick up a pair.

My eyes have been dilated all day due to my exam so I haven't made it out to the store yet :)

a "Rowen-ator"

I was sitting on the bed with the boys and I called Kelvin "Kelvinator" as I sometimes do. Rowen proceeds to point to himself and say "I Rowenator". I just had to laugh!

Homemade Surprise!

My Friend Amanda had this on her blog and I thought it was a fun idea! You sign up to receive something homemade and crafty, and then you pay it forward by doing the same thing for 3 people who sign up to do it on your blog.
So here’s how it works:

1.Be one of the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post and I will send you a handmade gift sometime in the next 3 months.

2.You get to pay it forward as well by doing the same thing for 3 people on your blog, plus one back to me. Once you leave a comment telling me that you want to participate, you need to make a pay-it-forward post on your blog within one day.

3.Get crafting!

Go right ahead and be the first three. You never know what you might get!

Camo Baby!

Image

Yesterday I had Kelvin dressed all in camo. It was really cute. I was calling him my little army man, but as Brian points out he could be a hunter too (our little Elmer Fudd)! This is for you Uncle Lee and Grandpa Z!

My good friend Kim took these pictures of the boys the other night while we were at the church for activities. Aren't they just cutie pies! I love them so much and they are growing so fast! Thanks so much Kim for sharing these shots with me!

Pictures of the boys

Image
I took the boys down to Wal-mart a week or so ago and had their pictures taken in the sweaters that I knitted for them. We finally got the pictures back yesterday and I purchased the session disk so I could have all the pictures digitally.

Happy New Year!

Image
It has been a long time since I have posted but I thought I would at least jot a note.

We had a really nice holiday season and have been very blessed. (the picture here is our little family on Christmas morning in our new PJ's) We spent time with both families over Christmas and New Years. We even made a trip the weekend after Christmas to visit family in Arkansas. We had a nice leisurely trip and we enjoyed the company!

During the 1st part of December (the 2nd to be exact), Brian was driving home from work and was in a car accident. It wasn't his fault (thank goodness), someone made a left hand turn right in front of him...I guess the driver didn't see Brian or something. It was on a city street so the speeds of both drivers were relatively slow but still our car ended up totaled. We ended up having to buy another car for Brian to drive to and from work. We were a bit bummed about having to do so, since we were completely debt free as far as our cars were concerned and now we have a car payment again. It is going to make things tight for awhile but we'll be ok. Anyways...it is a 2006 Hyundai Elantra, it is bright blue and a little sporty looking (has a sunroof...never had one of those before, and very tinted windows). I'll try to post some pictures later.

I was released as the Ward Pianist after 15+ years of filling that calling! I have some mixed feelings about it, but I asked for the release. It was a little challenging with a new baby and a toddler. Brian has been an awesome Dad but it gets to be a handful when Ro doesn't want to cooperate! I was also released as a RS teacher. I am now the Young Women's Secretary. I look forward to working with the presidency and the girls. Brian is now the Ward Clerk and he seems to be enjoying the work and associations.

I've almost finished making Rowen's cardigan sweater to match Kelvin's (well same pattern anyways...different yarn). I'm hoping I can have it all completed within the next week or 2 so that I can take the boys to have pictures taken.

Rowen will be 2 years old next Saturday!! I can hardly believe it has been 2 years already. He is such a sweet little boy and is growing in stature as well as in his intellect by leaps and bounds. I will post more after his b-day with some pictures (I hope).

Well so much for this being a little jot of a note!! Well...I hope everyone reading this is doing well and I hope to chat more later!
