Summer, Summer, Summertime!

Well .... the summer has begun! FINALLY! After packing up everything in my classroom and watching it all be moved out (to get new paint and carpet) it is finally summer! Brett is 2 1/2 now, Mr. Big Boy, and ready to be 100% boy this summer. He is quite the handfull to keep up with and I am loving every second of it!

I don't have the entire summer off though. I'll be going to a reading workshop next week and then teaching summer school 4 days a week in July. Brett will be staying home with me most days that I have off. I see a few trips to the beach in our future. Hopefully Daddy will have a few days off here and there to go with us. He's always so busy at work.

Now, back to Mr. Big Boy ... we moved Brett into a toddler bed this week. The first night was quite rough getting him to stay in it (I think it's my fault for crawling into bed with him ... never again). Since then, he's been sleeping like a champ. 8:15 - 8:00ish - 12 hours is more than I ever imagined he would be sleeping. He's still taking a 2 1/2 - 3 hour nap each afternoon too. He's talking our ears off each day. He will not hesitate to tell you exactally what he wants! He's a silly little monkey. Blogging

Ok - I know, our blog is totally lacking posts and new pictures. I was just looking through our old posts and I have to admit, it's really sad that the last pictures are from August! This post will bring you up to date on Brett. My goal is to blog or post pictures at least twice a week from now on! Wish me luck!

Brett is now 13 months old. He is walking and running everywhere. His best friend is Toby and Billy Bob (Bob Bob) as Brett says. He really enjoys looking at books and dancing with music. He can say lots of words, most of which start with a B. He says Mama, Dada, ball, boon (balloon), bubble, book, bye bye and hey. He blows kisses and can sign "more" and "milk". We are working on "thank you" and "please". He can put pieces in puzzles and loves to finger paint!

Fun Fun Weekend

We had a fun weekend. Brett is really developing his own personalilty and advancing everyday. As much as I like to see him grow, it makes me realize how important this time with him is.

Last week we went on a family vacation to Nags Head. It was Brett's first real beach trip. We had a blast! A quick show of our weekend in pictures. :)
