Last Day of Golf Lessons

Last day of summer golf lessons ~ The First Tee of Denver ~ at Wellshire.  Brendan enjoyed the lessons although it seems he would prefer to be out playing golf rather than learning how to play golf.  Hmmm, wonder who he gets that from?  He informed me that he was the second best golfer in the class ~ the best was a girl!  That's him, in the green shirt with his bag over his shoulder, walking away with his class.

Hanging with the Fam

First we headed to Koelbel Library for Brendan's math camp.  The picture of him with the Cat in the Hat was actually his idea.
Image
Brendan and me at the top of Shipwreck Falls ~ this was definitely our favorite ride at Elitch's this summer!
Image
Brent and Brendan on the DragonWing ride.  Definitely a good one for the two of them to ride!

Running back to give me a big wet cold hug!

Brent and Brendan after the Disaster Canyon ride.

Brendan and I shaking our tail feathers ~ the song was playing and we just couldn't resist.
Image
Brendan's levitation routine at the Wacky Warehouse.  His showmanship is actually pretty impressive ~ says his Mama...

Emery's first carousel ride ~ her cheeks and pout are pretty cute in silhouette, too!

Love that he still smiles like that on a Carousel.  Makes my heart smile!Image

Breakfast

Nothing newsworthy today.  I'm just a total foodie nerd.  I was so excited that Brendan and Emery were eating the same breakfast this morning!!!  Red, White and Blue sundaes!
Image
Strawberries, bananas, blueberries and organic vanilla yogurt.  His and hers.

My little doll face ~ even covered in yummy-ness.

An Afternoon with the Wild Ones

We joined another Schwabbie family at Tambien for some Rock-a-Billy and Ribs this afternoon.  The band was Mad Max & the Wild Ones and they were great!  They are a family rockabilly band made of up Dad (Max) and his three sons.  Brendan really got a kick out of the 9 year old who sang lead vocals.  "You can be 9 years old and in a band?!?"  I think someone's got a plan...
Image
Here's the middle son (age 14) playing the drums.
Image
Emery loved the live music, was grinning and bouncing!
Image
Here's the older brother (18) and the middle brother ~ he's playing that guitar with drumsticks!  Fantastic!!
Image
Nothing but a wonderful old Thunderbird.  I'm feeling that twitch for a convertible...

Skating and Fishing

Skate City ~ working up to the 50 mile club, baby!  Oh, and for the record, Brendan dressed himself today.  No, I don't force him to wear black socks with his shorts ~ "They match, Ma!"
Image
And ended the day by (finally) getting Brendan's fish ~ to live in that tank he got way back in June for his birthday.  Hmmm, wonder what I'm going to use to "bribe" my child now?
Image
Brendan would like you to meet Richard Gold Belfield ~ you can call him Rich.

Swimming ~ Again...

Today we headed over to the indoor pool in Lone Tree since the sky looked like it might create some thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Here's the slide that Brendan spent most of the day riding.  Brent and I even took a couple of turns.  It's so much fun to be a kid!

Yes!

Happy happy happy baby!

Games2U Party

I belong to a group online called Moms Like Me and they have a "Try It" group that I've also joined.  Through that group, we had the opportunity to have a Party Van come to our house for the afternoon!  So much fun!  The company is called Games2U and they brought their Games Van as well as outdoor laser tag.  The kids (and some of the adults) had a fantastic time!
Image
They have several screens inside the van where you can play games ~ and enjoy the air conditioning!  It was 101 degrees the afternoon of our party.  :)
Image
And you can play games outside of the van.  It was fun to watch the adults playing bowling and golf on the Wii.
Image
I think the kids really enjoyed the candy gun ~ think Pinata on serious steroids!
Image
And, as the guest of honor, Brendan got to try shooting the air gun after the candy had been emptied out.

Visit to the Zoo

Our beautiful African Lion male.  He looks so sleepy ~ isn't that so cute?
Image
Here's our baby sea lion, Ady, who was born June 13, 2010.  You can see that Mama Luci is keeping close tabs on her babe.
Image
And the wildest animals at the zoo ~ Brendan, Owen and Moses.  GREAT kids!

Visit to the Park with Nana

Brendan and Emery were excited to visit with Nana at Westlands Park.  Well, maybe Brendan was the excited one... Emery may not have been anticipating the visit quite as much but they both had a wonderful time.

Here's Patty, Nana, Emery and Brendan

Nana and her grandchildren

It was hot outside!  Here's a sweaty baby napping in her carseat.  Love the cute little fist holding her chin up.  Awwww...

Someone found the corner of the coffee table.  I seem to recall a picture of a certain little boy chewing on the very same table about six years ago...

Emery's Baptism at Cathedral of the Rockies

Breakfast on Sunday morning at Hillcrest.  Good looking crew, don't ya think?
Image
Ella, Alex and Brendan making the most of the free time before church.
Image
Emery enjoying a little snuggle and some downtime with Victoria's dad, Richard.  I'm a firm believer that every child should be loved by as many people as possible!
Image
Grandma and Emery after the baptism.  It was beautiful and wonderful and fantastic.  Such a blessing to celebrate our daughter and anticipate her relationship with our Lord.
Image
Uncle Andy even managed to get a smile out of little Miss Serious.
Image
The Cathedral of the Rockies has beautiful stained glass windows and architecture.

We headed to the airport right after church and were home in time for dinner.  As you can tell, Brendan thoroughly enjoyed his time in Boise and used up every last bit of energy.  So cute when they fall asleep like this!

Fun with Friends and Family in Boise

I was so thrilled to have a chance to visit with my dear friend, Jodi, and her family at Lucky 13 Pizza.  We've known each other since we were 2 and 3 and she's a real gem!  Here's a picture of Jodi, Emery and Tink (aka Ellie).  You can also see John's ear here.
Image
Emerson, Brendan and Tink enjoying the coloring books before lunch arrived.
Image
After lunch we headed to Hillcrest to enjoy their pool again.  Aren't they cute?
Image
Daddy's Girl through and through.
Image
Brendan learning how to dive.  I never managed to get a good picture of him mid-dive but I can tell you that it looks an awful lot like jumping off the diving board feet-first with your hands pointed over your head like this.  Notice his audience in the little yellow floatie...  Emery simply adores her big brother.
Image
Then we put on our party dress ~ okay, Emery put on her party dress ~ and we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the retirement party.  Here's Aunt Pam, Gina, Lily, Bryanna, Bryan, Emery and Aunt Judy.
Image
Believe it or not I don't think he was even looking at me.  This was his reaction when Gloria introduced Bob ~ who was about to recite a poem for Dad's retirement.
Image
Wonderful backyard party and a great retirement celebration!
Image
Bob Allis and his poem in "honor" of Dad.  All kidding aside, it was a great tribute and a testament to their very long friendship.
Image
Ian, Jackie and Andy enjoying the poem.
Image
Ian and Emery doing what they do best ~ being super adorable.

The older cousins (Ella, Alex and Brendan) enjoying the party ~ or enjoying their Pirate's Booty and a cartoon.
