I was so thrilled to have a chance to visit with my dear friend, Jodi, and her family at Lucky 13 Pizza. We've known each other since we were 2 and 3 and she's a real gem! Here's a picture of Jodi, Emery and Tink (aka Ellie). You can also see John's ear here. Emerson, Brendan and Tink enjoying the coloring books before lunch arrived.
After lunch we headed to Hillcrest to enjoy their pool again. Aren't they cute?
Daddy's Girl through and through.
Brendan learning how to dive. I never managed to get a good picture of him mid-dive but I can tell you that it looks an awful lot like jumping off the diving board feet-first with your hands pointed over your head like this. Notice his audience in the little yellow floatie... Emery simply adores her big brother.
Then we put on our party dress ~ okay, Emery put on her party dress ~ and we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the retirement party. Here's Aunt Pam, Gina, Lily, Bryanna, Bryan, Emery and Aunt Judy.
Believe it or not I don't think he was even looking at me. This was his reaction when Gloria introduced Bob ~ who was about to recite a poem for Dad's retirement.
Wonderful backyard party and a great retirement celebration!
Bob Allis and his poem in "honor" of Dad. All kidding aside, it was a great tribute and a testament to their very long friendship.
Ian, Jackie and Andy enjoying the poem.
Ian and Emery doing what they do best ~ being super adorable.
The older cousins (Ella, Alex and Brendan) enjoying the party ~ or enjoying their Pirate's Booty and a cartoon.
