Mission Statement

BellHacks's mission statement is to be people for and with others. Our hackathon is aimed at those from underrepresented groups that wish to make an impact. We hope that through this hackathon, students will become inspired to incite change in their respective communities. Thus, we are offering 2 pathways that we believe best embody challenges society faces: Education and Community.

About the challenge

This Hackathon is for any student in the Bay Area who is passionate about computer science or programming and wants to make a difference in their community.

Get started

Participants will create groups of 1-4 students each. No previous knowledge of programming is needed, just be ready to bring a computer and your best self, ready to learn and engage!

Requirements

What to Build

Students will choose one of the following pathways and build a product that adheres to that specific topic. For example, for education: build a product that can accelerate learning, or for community: create a product that can connect the less involved members of our community locally and globally.

What to Submit

Students will submit a finished product with functioning code and (possibly) a presentation/demo.
