Missing In Action

From the looks of our blog you would think we disapeared. My last post was in October! I have lots of things to put on my food blog and this blog, I have just had zero time! School is so time consuming. Today is our last day of Fall semester. Benjamin has a few finals left today and I have one left at 3:00. We are going crazy! You can tell becuase I brought out my favorite "Going Crazy" picture. I should study. I will get this blog updated as soon as the break actually begins. Image

I Love Benjamin

I can't believe it has been six months already! We have been married since April 12th, 2008. I was just looking back over the years and thinking about all the fun times we had in high school. Flirting in Cedar City, talking late on long bus rides, school dances, plays, reading each others lips across the classroom in band, always do things only because the other was involved, watching Northern Lights together, folding arms next to each other to hide our hand holding, pretending to be secret agents together, "accidentally" always showing up where ever he was, and falling in love the whole time. I'm glad all those love songs were about me. I just love Benjamin! He is the sweetest husband ever. He is so supportive as I deal with health issues, he always is surprising me, he is so thoughtful, he is so strong and good. I am so happy to be married to him!Image

A Tribute to the Annual Andreasen Halloween Party

Every year since 2003 the Andreasen family has had an amazing themed Halloween party with loads of snacks, games, and amazing costumes. The first year the theme was: Made-Up super heroes. I don't have pictures for that year, but the next few years are shown below. Everyone gets a turn to display their costume and explain what they are. The karaoke year everyone  actually sang a song to go with their character. They were hilarious. There are some pretty creative costumes, don't you agree? Damon and Shawna started the whole thing and it has been a fun tradition. I don't thing we are doing one this year. Hopefully we will be able to have another one in the years to come. Happy Halloween!

Life Just Keeps Moving.

I am going crazy because I love to blog and I have nothing fun to post and the camera isn't working. I think the batteries are dead, but I don't know where the charger is (can you believe we are still unpacking?). So I'll just give a little up date and maybe later I'll make Benjamin pose for some pictures. The two of us are both in school right now and are both super busy. Our dates consist of going to concerts and shows at the college because we are required to for our majors (I am a theatre major and Benjamin is a Music major). Benjamin has a pretty hard schedule between Biology, Chemistry, Jazz Improv, a bunch of other classes, and playing for two jazz combos. He still finds time to be the best husband ever. I am busy as well. I have Anatomy and Physiology, Theatre History, Nutrition, Education Psychology, and a few other classes. We are just taking life one day at a time. Its hard sometimes, though. My ulcerative colitis is flaring up pretty bad and between lab tests, doctor visits, dietitian meetings, and sleeping I can barely fit everything in a day and my house is a mess. Benjamin cleaned the bathroom the other day and made a huge pot of soup and I was so grateful. He helps a lot with everything. We are trying to find things to eat now that my diet consists of fish, whey protein shakes, rice, and pureed vegetables and fruit. I have been having the hardest time staying awake. I get so tired during the day, I always fall asleep in class, I feel like my muscles don't work, and my hair is falling out. So I got tested for anemia and sure enough, I have a pretty severe case of it. From what I hear level 15 is officially anemic and below 9 is severe. I am an 8. I am so glad to know so I can start taking iron supplements. We had a fun trip to Utah for Benjamin's mission reunion. We stayed with Grandpop's Romney for a few days. We even got to go to conference! And Grandpop's gave me some watercolor pencils and a paint brush and note pad of Grandma Lou's. I checked out a whole bunch of books from the library about drawing and painting and I am trying to learn something new every day. I'll never be Grandma Lou though! Her paintings are beautiful! I love them. Last night Anthony made dinner for us. It was such a nice thing to do. Kylie had a night class and he invited us over to eat and he had made a roast, mashed potatoes, and homemade gravy. It was delicious. Thanks Anthony! Oh and Anthony's surprise part was a blast too! I love surprise parties when they are for other people. I hate them for me. I am excited for Halloween even though we don't have costumes and we will miss having the fun Andreasen Halloween party this year. I'm going to post a Halloween tribute to past Andreasen parties. Life is great. We are surviving and trying to be cheerful about it. We love being married and we love our ward. (I am the chorister and Benjamin is the Elders Quorum pianist.) We love our sweet family. And we miss those that are far away. We love school and learning new things each day. We are learning from the hard times. And like Jess said on her blog, our burden's have been made light. It is so nice to have the gospel. Its so nice to run to the temple and escape the cold world out there. Thank you to everyone who has been so kind and helpful to us. So many people have given us food, furniture, comfort, and we know that we aren't alone. Happy Fall!

Yelow Stone

ImageI loved this geyser! It came right over on to the path and enveloped me. It went on for a long time and I just stood there getting blasted with sulfer steam.

ImageThis is what I looked like after. What a mess!

We had a blast at Yellowstone with Mamma Kaye, Papa Ben, Anthony, and Kylie. We all drove over in the big white van and saw a bunch of geysers, paint pots, waterfalls, and Hello, Dolly at the play mill. We pigged out on homemade taffy and huckleberry ice cream. What a fun day!

Just Around The River Bend!

Image Benjamin just had to tip the canoe!

Benjamin took my little sister Emily and brother Joseph to the canal at the Romney abode. They had a blast tipping the canoe, pretending they were in Indian territory, and eating currants, while I pouted about the mosquitos and them not holding still for pictures. A fun time.

THE YELLOW SUBMARINE

ImageAs you can see, it just one long rectangle with just a curtain at the bedroom entrance. The only real door is to the bathroom.
ImagePretty cramped!
Image
Image
ImageThe bedroom is so small that there is barely enough room to walk around the bed
ImageThe kitchen is actually pretty nice. Not much counter space, but not bad.

This is the tiny trailer that we lived in this summer. It is so Ghetto and small! It looks like a boat or something. We had fun though. And you can see our stylish mini van in the picture too. Unless you went 15 mph or more the door ajar dinger wouldn't stop. So annoying! But Pappa Ben and Benjamin fixed it the other day! We have had fun in our yellow boat and gold mini van. Fortunatly, we moved to Wagon Wheels last week and it is much larger! And we've upgraded from yellow siding to brown carpet! Life is Good!!!

SNOW BIRD!

ImageBenjamin is on top of the world!

ImageWe rode on these blue sleds down the alpine slide.

Benj and I took a fun vacation to Snow Bird, Utah, after a hard semester. We rode the tram and the alpine slide, took a Tai Chi lesson, went swimming, pigged-out at The Cheese Cake Factory, and went to a session at the Salt Lake Temple. We also visited Grand Pops Romney, all the Whiting family in Mapleton, and my uncle Sean Nissen in Springville. Thanks Mamma Kaye and Pappa Ben for letting us use the Condo!

We've had some fun Family Reunions this Summer. Here are some Nissen Reunion pictures from up at the Ranch. Look at the Romeny Relation Blog for Romney reunion pictures. We forgot our camera.
