Henry has changed so much this month, and continues to have a sweet, laid-back personality.  He has battled a few little colds and viruses in addition to teething, but it hasn’t slowed him down much.  We have been busy hiding floor lamps and crayons from our fast-crawling little guy.

Here are a few stats and fun facts about our nine month old boy:

• Weighs 24 lbs 9 oz and is 30″ tall (98th and 97th percentile)
• Pulls up and can scoot across furniture
• Has 7 teeth and is working on #8
• Loves to laugh at his big sister
• Claps his hands when we say “yay, Henry!”
• He has started to say “Mama”, which has me in heaven.  This was Elsa’s tenth word.  We might have a mama’s boy!
• Favorite foods include cheese, chicken, sweet potatoes, butternut squash and sautéed apples.

Matt and I took our kids to Family Camp earlier this month at Laity Lodge.  It was a wonderful weekend in one our favorite places, and Elsa and Henry were worn out with plenty of fresh air and play time.  A few of these pictures below were taken across the river from camp, in a beautiful tree house.  Elsa and I also had fun decorating a pumpkin while the boys napped.  Mostly, we were too busy to take photos!   

These photos were taken at the beginning of October, and this little guy continues to grow up so quickly.  He is at such a fun and exhausting age.  A few fun facts about Henry in his eighth month:

• Weighs 23 1/2 pounds
• Started crawling on his knees instead of only army crawling
• Has three teeth
• Loves to put everything in his mouth: grass, toys, iPhone chargers
• Prefers finger foods over purees.  Favorites include salmon, sautéed apples, sweet potatoes, scrambled eggs, and bananas
• Can drink water from a straw cup
• Tries to keep up with his sister and loves “yelling” at our dog, Annie
• Henry uses everything as a drum.  He loves to make noise!

I took this six weeks ago, and am just now posting it.  It has been a busy couple of months!  This photo sums up our easy going, hair-pulling baby Henry (and his silly sister).

Henry is six months old! He continues to be such a joy, and – unlike his cautious sister – loves to smile at nice strangers who stop to squeeze his chubby thighs.  Yesterday, he weighed in at 21 pounds 7 ounces at the pediatrician’s office and is 28 1/2 inches tall.  We have started feeding Henry solid food, but he doesn’t seem too crazy about it.  He continues to nurse every three hours during the day, goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:30, and wakes for a quick feeding around 5 am.  After letting him cry it out last month, he finally gave up his “social hour” every evening: waking up about an hour after going to bed.  We’re all glad to be finished with that battle!  Matt and I still cannot believe how happy and easy going he is.   And no one can make him laugh like his silly big sister.
