Het is hier de laatste weken veel te stil geweest op mijn blog, tijd om wat leven in de brouwerij te brengen. De aandachtige lezers onder jullie hadden het al gelezen vorige week op het blog van Neat & Tangled. Na 6 jaren trouwe dienst neem ik komend weekend afscheid van mijn oude blogje, en neem ik mijn intrek op een compleet nieuwe stek. Het had wat voeten in de aarde, maar vanaf zaterdag kun je me vinden op elsbrige.com. * It’s been way too quiet here the past few weeks, time to stir things up a little. The more attentive readers amongst you, might have read it past week on the Neat & Tangled blog. After 6 years of loyal service I’m saying goodbye to my old blog this coming weekend, and I’m moving into a completely new spot. It’s been a labor of love, but from this Saturday you can find me at elsbrige.com.

Maar dat is nog niet alles. Ik heb nog een andere heel spannende mededeling, die ik helaas nog wat geheim moet houden voor jullie. Vanaf vandaag tot zaterdag zal ik echter wel een aantal sneakjes tonen op mijn sociale media, die jullie misschien wel al heel wat wijzer zullen maken. Sorry I have no Project Life post for you this week. I was writing up a Project Life Tuesday post, since I missed Monday. Yesterday was my last workday before the holidays, and with today being a national holiday, I was totally in a weekend mood, & Monday had come and gone without me even noticing it. How can Mondays feel so much like a Friday?

But then when I was half way through this ‘sorry I missed Monday, let’s do Tuesdays’ post, my computer decided to shut off completely, and made me loose the entire thing. I didn’t have the heart to start it all over again. So sorry, not today either.

I might have to warn you all together that this place might go slow for the next 3 weeks. I’ll be taking as much time with the kids as possible, making memories to fuel my albums afterwards;) Blogging will not be on top of my list, although I will not take off completely.

Gelukkig Nieuwjaar!! Hebben jullie de feestdagen goed overleefd? * Happy New Year!! Have you all survived the Holidays?

De voorbije weken was ik nogal stil – wel, afwezig eigenlijk – hier op mijn blog en op mijn sociale media. Sinds december in zicht kwam, had ik heel erg de nood om te gaan cocoonen. Om gewoon eventjes gerust gelaten te worden, tijd met mijn gezin door te brengen, wat te knutselen, TV te kijken, en vaak de hele dag in mijn pyama te blijven. Gelukkig had ik vakantie sinds half december. Ik heb me ten volle overgeleverd aan al het boven genoemde. * The past few weeks, I have been very quiet – well, absent really – here on my blog and on my social media. I have been feeling an urge to cocoon ever since December came in sight. To just be left alone for a while, spent time with my family, craft a little, watch TV, and often stay in my PJ’s all day long. Good thing I was off from work since half december. I’ve totally indulged myself in all of the above.

Ik heb nog steeds wel zin om een winterslaap te houden, maar ik weet dat het ondertussen tijd is om vanonder die rots te komen, de coma van de feestdagen te proberen afschudden, en 2015 goed van start te gaan. Op dit moment werk ik mijn Project Life album van 2014 af. Weken 52 & 1 worden samengesteld, en daarna heb ik enkel nog een titelpagina te maken. Heel binnenkort staat mijn eerste half Project Life album hier in de kast. Ik kan nauwelijks geloven dat ik het heb volgehouden, en ik kan nog minder geloven hoe erg ik verliefd geworden ben op dit project de voorbije maanden. Binnenkort kan ik een nieuw album voor 2015 starten. Ik kan nauwelijks wachten om het week na week op te vullen. * I still feel like hibernating, but I know it’s time to crawl up from under my rock, try to ditch that holiday coma, and start making something good from 2015. Currently, I’m finishing up my 2014 Project Life album. Weeks 52 & 1 are in the works, and then there’s only the title page to finish. Very soon, my first half Project Life album will be on the shelf. I cannnot believe to have kept it up, I cannot believe how much I have fallen in love with this project over the past few months. Very soon I’ll start a brand new 2015 PL album. I can’t wait to fill it up, week by week.

Ik hoopte een klein kerstalbum te maken – ik ben niet zeker of me dat nog lukt. En ik heb een stapel leuke foto’s, waar ik de komende maanden graag layouts wil mee maken. En niet minder belangrijk, ik heb vandaag net een bestelling Distress Markers ontvangen die ik met wat kerstgeld kocht, en ik heb ook nog een bestelling mooie stempels onderweg naar me. Ik heb zin om te creëren, en ik hoop dat jullie dit jaar terug met me mee doen. *  I was hoping to do a small Christmas album – not sure if I’ll be able to make it. And I have numerous fun pictures that I want to turn into layouts over the next few months. And last but not least, I just received an order of Distress Markers I’ve bought with some Christmas money, and I have an order with a few fun stamp sets on its’ way to me. I’m eager to create, and hope you’ll be out there crafting along with me again this year.

2014 komt stilaan ten einde. Ik ben niet echt het soort persoon dat terugkijkt om te zien of ik mijn goede voornemens heb waargemaakt, maar ik was wel enthousiast om een keertje terug te blikken op mijn projecten van het voorbije jaar. Ik maakte een lijst voor jullie met mijn favoriete project voor iedere maand van het voorbije jaar. Een heel moeilijke keuze voor sommige maanden, maar ik slaagde erin 12 projecten uit te kiezen. I’m not really the type of person to look back and see if I did well on my resolutions, but I was eager to take a look back at my projects from the past year. I made a list for you with my favorite for each month of the past year. A difficult choice for some of the months, but I managed to pick 12 projects in total. 2014 was een fantastisch blogjaar. Ik hield heel erg van de layouts, kaarten, project life pagina’s, en meer die ik met jullie kon delen. Maar het zou niet zo fantastisch zijn geweest zonder jullie. Heel erg bedankt om af en toe langs te komen. Ik apprecieer ieder van jullie. * 2014 has been an amazing blogging year. I have loved all of the layouts, cards, project life spreads, and more I have shared with you. But it wouldn’t have been this amazing without all of you. It’s been a while since my last real post, I know. Sorry for not warning you or anything, but I’ve been taking a much needed break from blogging. To be honest, I have found myself in a bit of a blogging rut lately. So time to take a step back, I thought. What have I been up to in the meantime, you might ask. I’ve been creating a lot, no rut there, don’t worry. And I’ve been taking time to spend to my home and family. And I have loved every minute of it.

Slowly but surely, I’m preparing for a new blogging year. I’ll be back before you know it. I hope you’ve been having a fantastic holiday season so far.

And yes … I’m that late with sending out my greeting cards, even the international ones;)

For this occasoin I pulled out an oldie. It’s one of the only layouts that openly tells something about motherhood for me. Being a mother is by far one of the thoughest jobs I’ve ever had. Motherhood lifts you up, takes you on a roller coaster ride with at least af few double loops along the way, and then puts you back down again. But then at the end of the day, when I put my kids to bed, and one of them gives me a tight squeeze and whispers ‘I love you!’ in my ear, my heart skips a beat. And I can’t help thinking what a full life I have, and how utterly blessed I am with these little monsters of mine.
