A liberal response

In response to Mr. Jerry Lamping’s slanderous letter “Liberals cause all ills”:

I find it morally superior to approach hatred directed towards our nation with peace, dialogue, and a look at ourselves, rather than to wage war, escalating such hatred to new heights.

I find it morally superior to provide our teens with condoms to protect them from disease and unwanted pregnancies rather than to promote sexual ignorance.

I find it morally superior to protect a woman’s right to have control over her own body, rather than to force abortion back to the underground with predictable consequences.

I also find it morally superior to include people of different sexual orientation in our society and to protect their rights as we do our own.

Finally, I find it morally superior to protect our religious freedom by keeping faith out of government policy and public schools, rather than to institutionalize one religious dogma.

The rest of the inaccuracies in Mr. Lamping’s letter, I will leave without a comment. They speak well for themselves. When “conservative” crusaders hurl insults, declaring me morally bankrupt and without character, there is only one response that comes to my mind: I pity their ignorance.
