Easton's 4th Birthday

Easton turned 4 on February 13th!  We started with celebrations a few days before due to his birthday falling in the middle of the week and Brian's cousin having his wedding reception the night of Easton's birthday too.  We started on Saturday...
Image
He LOVED licking the bowl after we made the cake batter!
Image
I put the finishing touches on his cake on Sunday before Church and then after Church and dinner we had family over to celebrate.  Grandma & Grandpa Leavitt, Aunt Torey & Uncle Dan, Uncle Kellen & Melissa, and Great Grandma Price joined us for presents and cake and ice cream.
Image
Great Grandma Price was the first to arrive and he was happy to let her read his favorite Valentine's Day book to him "Froggy's First Kiss."  He basically memorized it in the few days we had it out with our Valentine's decor...we read it multiple times a day!

Easton was all about Batman and excited to open a new Batmobile from Grandma & Grandpa Leavitt.

Easton loves Uncle Kellen's girlfriend, Melissa.

Since we were having a Batman party, Brayden dressed up as Batman to entertain us all.

Riding on Grandpa Leavitt's back is always a favorite activity!

Easton was so excited for his cake!

That's pretty much the smile we get from him lately when we ask for one!

Listening to everyone sing to him

Blowing out his candles.  We all ate cake and ice cream and then called it a night.

On Tuesday the 12th he got to celebrate his birthday at preschool.  He got a birthday crown and picked popsicles to take as a treat to share with his friends.
Image
Later Tuesday night in preparation for his actual birthday and his party, I made Batman cupcakes.  Not sure if I got better with the Batman logo or worse but I do know he loved them!

He woke up happy for his birthday to finally be here and enjoyed his requested birthday breakfast of scones with butter and honey before getting ready for his friends party.  He invited 2 little boys from the ward and his cousin, Rachel.  When that's all he wanted to come, I decided to make them all Batman capes and masks to wear.

We hung paper bats from the light over the table

This banner I already had from Brayden's 5th birthday so it was nice to be able to reuse it!

Here's our little Batmans! Some were happier than others! ;)

Even Daddy got dressed up like Batman!

We told the kids that Mr Freeze had gotten Batman and frozen him in ice.  We gave them squirt guns filled with warm water and let them help rescue Batman.
Image
They had fun and we refilled the water guns a lot and helped with a few cups of warm water to speed the process along a bit.

Image
After that we played "Batman, Batman, Joker" and the kids LOVED it!

 Riley gave Easton some tools.

Zander gave Easton some monster trucks.
Image
Rachel gave Easton a frisbee and a rocket.

We let each of the kids have 2 cupcakes so they were on a bit of a sugar high which produced the next scene pictured:
Image
They had a great time attacking each other and Brian with the balloons while they waited for their parents to pick them up.  It was a fun little party and he had a blast!

Grandma & Grandpa Petersen flew in mid-day and came straight to our house.
Image
Easton was happy to try and read their Batman birthday card.
Image
He was thrilled with the Gotham City Jail they gave him.  Between both the boys we have a Batcave and Joker's house so they can get quite the set up going when they play Batman.
Image
Starting back in January he started asking for "a rocketship like Marshall's" for his birthday.  (Marshall is Brayden's friend and he went in once with me and played while I visited with his Mom one day when dropping off Brayden.)  We couldn't find one anywhere...except ebay!
Image
He was thrilled to get his rocketship!
Image
We went to dinner at Cafe Rio (his FAVORITE place) with Grandma & Grandpa Petersen and then came home for cupcakes.  He blew out the candles one more time and then after eating we all changed our clothes and headed to Brian's cousin's wedding reception.
Image
We saw Grandma & Grandpa Petersen every day during their short 4 day visit to Utah but we only got a picture of the boys with them on the last day when they came to Brayden's basketball game.  We enjoyed their visit!

Easton LOVES being a "4 year older" and we had so much fun celebrating him for a few days!  He's such a great little boy and I love having him keep me company during my days.  He's excited for his baby brother to come but for me, I'm going to miss the time we've had just the two of us.  Happy Birthday Easton!!

Family Pictures 2012

A friend of mine is starting her photography business and I've been doing more and more photography so we decided to switch and take each other's family pictures and then edit our own pictures.  That way we didn't make more work for each other and had control over the final outcome of the pictures.  A tripod would have worked too but having someone else with a good eye helps!  We gathered our families and headed up to Sundance to take advantage of the beautiful Fall colors.  After pictures we ended the night at her family's cabin at Sundance with pizza and visiting.  It was a fun night and hopefully we'll do it again soon!  I always feel like I'm the one behind the camera so pictures with me in it are nice and we needed new family pictures and will need them again in the spring!!
