Santa Pictures 2010

We went with our good friend, Betsey, and her cute kids Josi and Jake, to go see Santa on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I was worried Easton wouldn't cooperate but he did once he got a candy cane in his hand! He isn't old enough to tell Santa what he wants for Christmas but Brayden sure did...a real....live....DALMATION! Oh boy is that going to be fun! ;) We'll all be waiting in suspense to see if Santa fulfills Brayden's wish but he's been proving he's old enough to take care of a dog by scooping the neighbor's dog poop in the meantime!

Halloween 2010

We basically celebrated Friday and Saturday but not on the actual day!
It all started with Brayden going to his preschool party in his "simplified" costume. Mom let him go with basically everything but the breastplate, shield, and sword.

Image
Brayden's friend Kylie came over to our house for a little bit before preschool.
Image
After preschool we went and surprised Grandma Leavitt at the elementary school where she works. Brayden got to show of her handiwork since she made his costume this year. From there we went trick or treating to Great Grandma & Grandpa Leavitt who are at their home in Alpine currently. Granny was quite surprised!
Image
After that we headed to Grandma & Grandpa Leavitt's for lunch and to pick up the big pumpkin Grandpa grew. He was kind enough to give it to us for the boys to carve and display at our house. We measured it and it was 68 inches around and probably weighed 100 pounds or more. It took two adults to move it and it wasn't easy even then!
Image
Brian was out of town until Friday night so while we waited patiently for him to get home and join in the fun, we went to our ward Halloween party. Brayden entered the costume contest....
Image
...and WON! He was SO excited! They were giving out 2 adult prizes and 3 kid prizes and I didn't think he'd win with basically the WHOLE ward entering but he did!
Image
Image
Saturday we got ready for the big night and when Easton went down for a nap, carved our pumpkins. Here's Brayden with one of the two we grew ourselves this year!
Image
Image
Brayden chose a Frankenstein design for his and Dad helped get it ready and put the design on before Mom got to carve it.

We got our two regular sized pumpkins carved and then brought in the BIG one!

Image
Got our pumpkins all done, Aunt Torey stopped by to visit, and had friends over for soup and salad before going out Trick or Treating! Here's how Easton went out...
Image
The little stinker wanted NOTHING to do with his Dragon costume! Like cried and threw a MAJOR fit the ENTIRE time we made him keep it on! (30 minutes!) So we caved and in an effort to let him have a good experience, he went as a pirate. But he wouldn't wear a hat or eye patch and finally let us put the sash/belt on him with a sword tucked in! You can't really see all of that because we put a coat on most of us (Brayden was the exception) because it was RAINING!

Here's the after Trick or Treating picture. Easton and Dad lasted for about 20 houses before calling it a night and Brayden and Mom continued on and did about half our neighborhood! It was quite the sacrifice for Mom since her SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS were playing in the WORLD SERIES and boy did she look super cute all wet!

Our Knight and his haul of candy! His favorite thing he got...a can of Root Beer!

Great Hard Drive Crash of 2010

We've had a major event happen when our external hard drive crashed recently! I really have been wanting to hop back on the blog train but we're currently living without our pictures from about the beginning of December 09 until we've got portions of our pictures from the summer! We're missing Easton's first birthday, Brayden's 4th birthday, our summer of weddings, our big Disneyland trip, etc. Hopefully we'll be getting them back since I've convinced Brian we CANNOT live without these photos! The hard drive was sent off to Montanta with hopes of recovery and hopes that the estimated price tag of $300-$1900 is at the lower end! (Say a prayer please!)

So what I'm going to do is try and post what we've got from recently in hopes that if we experience this again, we've at least got the blog for some photos! (We are taking some extra steps to ensure every thing is backed up!)

Enjoy us back to blogging!

Family Night at Gardner Village

For FHE tonight we decided to go up to Gardner Village and have dinner and see the witches. Gardner Village goes ALL OUT for Halloween! We called Aunt Stephanie and we picked her up on our way and her roommate Holly came and met us too. We started by walking around and seeing the witches...
Image
Brayden wanted his picture taken with almost every witch!

Brayden's favorites #1 Hot Dog Eating Witch

Brayden's Favorites # 2 Baseball Playing Witches (In Seattle Mariners gear!)

Brayden's Favorites # 3 Firefighting Witch

Easton discovered his LOVE of pumpkins! He practically ran from pumpkin to pumpkin touching them all!
Image
Image
And finally decided he'd check out the Frog Witch.
Image
But then back to his first love of the night....pumpkins!

Steph snapped a family picture of us with the upside down witch.

There she is unobstructed.

We had a yummy dinner at Archibald's and then walked around a bit more before hitting the candy shop on our way out!

Fall Soccer 2010

Brayden just finished up with his last soccer game of the Fall season. Brian coached and one of our good friends, Mike Madsen, coached with him. We had 8 kids from our ward on the team and it really made it fun! Warning...there's lots of pictures coming up and that's only from two games! If only the hard drive didn't crash!
Image
Image
He loved when he got to do throw ins!
Image
Easton had a hard time NOT being out there with Daddy and Brayden so sometimes Dad held him while he coached!

Brayden LOVED being the one to kick off!

Pure happiness!

After the last game the kids got medals and certificates. Poor Brayden was crying and upset and when we asked him why his response was, "Because I didn't score 10 goals tonight like I wanted to!" Poor kid!

Easton's face when you ask him to say "Cheese" lately!

There's our happy little guy!

No more tears and a great picture of Brayden and Dad after a fun soccer season!
