grateful

I have been feeling very grateful lately, which is always a good thing. Here are a few of my favorite things I find around our place that make me happy everyday.

Happy Birthday Nixon
We celebrated this little man's 1st birthday a few days early, his actual birthday is this Saturday. We kicked things off with a little "vintage toys" theme birthday party. Nixon is one loved kid, thank you to all who came and helped us celebrate!

This little guy brings Braydn & I so much joy! He is so full of personality, spunk, curiosity, laughter & excitement. We LOVE being parents to this ball of fire & feel so blessed!

Hope you had a Happy Halloween

So funny story, right after these pics Nixon threw up all over himself and me. Poor kid was sick with the flu so it was a pretty low key halloween this year.
Oh well at least we got pics right?

what's been up with the jones'

This is my favorite time of year! We are making the most of it before the weather gets too chilly and we are boarded up for the winter. Here is some tidbits of what we have been up to around here..
photo one & two: We went to Bear Lake with family and we had so much fun, I never knew how pretty it is up there.
photo three: Happy 6 years to us! We went out on the town for the night & it was so fun just to spend time with the hubby.
photo four: this is the first year we actually picked out pumpkins from a pumpkin patch.
photo five & six: we went with my parents to Thanksgiving points petting zoo and as you can see Nixon loved it. He would yell at all the animals to try and get their attention.
photo seven: we hosted our annual halloween party and I think it was a success. We have such great friends.
photo eight: check out that massive pumpkin, we actually saw a guy floating on one of these in a pond recently and it is now on my bucket list.
photo nine: just hammin" it up for the camera, he is such a cheeseball.
photo ten: helping bray fix things around the house and lovin it.
photo eleven: we walked around the gardens at Thanksgiving point.
photo twelve: we just got home from an awesome trip to st. george with friends. We had a blast!

We took a little trip to Northern California to visit Braydn's cute sister & family. We had such a blast, she lives in the most gorgeous area but wasn't really what I thought when picturing Cali. It was FREEZING there and dumb me only packed us all one jacket and one pair of pants and the rest was all summer clothes. So we were actually there for several days despite what our clothes say in every single picture.

We did a little crusin' around town in Eureka, this little shopping area had so much character. Now if only the shops had been open! We went on Labor Day and I guess everyone takes the day off so nothing was opened.


The Beach

Nothing like a good ole' bonfire at the beach topped off with some sand filled s'mores.


Triniadad Head Trail

Nixon has this obsession with Braydn's ears, its so funny.

Fern Canyon

Fern Canyon was a hit. It was so beautiful and I am told this is where they filmed some of Jurassic Park. Braydn would shoot me if I told you that he said this would probably be where Edward, Jacob & Belle lived.
(on his behalf no he didn't read the books, he was just forced to watch the lame movies with me.)

Nixon decided to make the most of the 14 hour drive by catching up on some reading.
It was so great to spend time with family.
