Not Much

Winter is almost over. SO EXCITED. Today it was in the 60's! Unfortunately tomorrow it's going to snow. And be really cold for the next while again. But at least winter is on it's way out. I'm running out of things for the boys to do!! Help! Any good ideas?
My 2 dollar V-day wreath. Just simple. Nothing flashy.

Ok. Don't laugh. This was my first sewing attempt. It's an owl for those (most) of you who can't tell. Sawyer got it right away. At least SOMEONE did....jim
Oh. And the red vase? Yeah. That was a 25 cent find. It used to be a hideous clearish green. Notice the half empty dish of M&M's? I am ashamed.

Not sure what's going on here. But aren't they cute?

The boys and I made this really fun fort that Sawyer decided looked like the ocean. So we cut out fish and hung them up. Then Jim came home and started blowing bubbles into the ocean...they thought that was pretty awesome.

My boys are so wild. I love it.

Probably WAY too many videos

But oh well. Just enjoy it.

I like how Sawyer is trying to wiggle his car too. And then smacks the fridge. Ha!

This is Kansas's toughest biker gang...don't mess...

Jim was in charge of music this evening...this is what happens when little boys listen to hip-hop...

These skates were a thrift store jack-pot. 1 dollar! Wohoo! This is Sawyers first attempt. He held my hand for a second, then wanted to do it on his own, and look at him go.

And Wyatts turn. I think he just wanted to tap dance in them.

Sawyer is very into saying prayers lately. This is snack time. I put the snacks down in front of them and left to get drinks and when I came back Sawyer was praying with Wyatt. Ha! Maybe they won't be heathens like Jim and I after all!? Last night at dinner I guess I forgot to say thanks for the beautiful day because Sawyer corrected me..."mom! Beautiful day too!" So he proceeds to tell us to fold our arms, close our eyes and say " thanks for beautiful day. And Wyatt. Amen!" Then Wyatt "blah blah blah blah blah AMN!" Good job boys.

Oh. By the way. Sawyer didn't get really fat. That's a heart shaped pillow in there. Not sure why.

Joined at the Hips

Have I mentioned that these boys do EVERYTHING together?
We had all this great snow outside, but it was in the negatives and I was NOT going to go out in it. So we brought it indoors...they loved it. We made little snowmen and drove cars and tractors through it. This is the wonderful play area Jim made for the boys. You can't really see it. I need to post pictures. But he put in a play sink so we could do stuff like this!

Wyatt just liked eating it. I bet it feels good on his sore little gums.
Image
I'm not sure what they were talking about. I just heard them around the corner talking and went to take a picture...pretty sure it involved cars though. That's what they're lives revolve around.

Image
Um....Not sure how he managed this. I don't know if he was trying to get undressed and failed, or if he was just not really paying attention and got himself all tangled up...either way, it took me a minute to figure out how to get him out.
Image
Just a couple little Valentines day crafts. I made a wreath for the front door too...I'll post that later along with the rest...

Wyatt always says "cheese" when the camera comes out. I'm not sure what Sawyer is doing to the poor kid. I hope he's just blowing and not spitting on him...

5 YEARS!!? Already?

So Jim and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on December 28th...yes, I'm behind in my blogging...by going to Wichita with the boys. This may sound lame to some people, but we have too much fun as a family. We didn't want the boys to miss out on some of the cool things they have there. Yes, in Wichita Kansas. So Jim suprised me that morning by announcing he took the day off work! Yay! And with a BEAUTIFUL pearl necklace...something I've wanted for a LONG time...thanks babe! So then we packed up the car and took of. It's not a bad drive not much over an hour. I think it's the closest real city to us. So we did some sight-seeing and what not. They had a Bed Bath and Beyond there...so, of course I had to make a stop there. Then after lunch we hit the Discovery Museum. One of the coolest museums I've been to in a while. The boys LOVED it. So here are some pictures from said museum.
The boys are looking at a live snake as it tried climbing up the glass tank toward their faces.

Sawyer has his hand on a tree frog
Image
Wyatt loved watching the giant toads...
Image
They had an airplane simulation...though he didn't quite understand how to use it he LOVE sitting in it and pretending.
Image

While Sawyer was quietly playing in the water, carefully pouring it in and out of tubes...
Image
...Wyatt was throwing any and all objects as hard as he could to make as big a wet mess as possible. That is the definition of their personalities right there.
Image
There was a fake fire under the pot...I guess we're having Wyatt stew for dinner?
Image
They had this GIANT castle. It was like 3 stories tall I think! Here are these fun rocking horses in front. It was so cool.
Image

I need one of these little cars at home for our slide.

Now this is cool. They had a big room devoted to the history of flight. This thing that Sawyer is playing with are plane propellers hooked onto this tower. You turn it on and they start blowing onto this wall covered in sequin like things. Then you turn the handles around and make the fans move back and fourth across the wall. It looks like waves. When a drop of water hits the surface of a lake and makes those rings that go out?...I'm not describing it well. But it was BEAUTIFUL! Sawyer and I were a bit mesmerized by it. The video doesn't do it justice. I also thought of you dad...it would make the perfect noise maker...if you could fit it in your room...

They had a tornado simulator too. Sawyer DID NOT like it. Wyatt...kinda did. I however, LOVED it. What's my obsession with tornadoes? I have no clue. I'm terrified of them.

Seriously a very cool place. The boys were beat at the end of the day and slept till 10 the next morning...awesome.
All right, just a couple more pictures I promise. I have a lot of catching up to do.
This is the nativity set Jim and I made for the boys. I got sick of them playing with all mine. It was only a matter of time before one of them got broken. So my wonderful Jim-Bob went out in the 10 degree weather and cut out some blocks. What a guy. Then I printed off some pictures. Took some scrap-booking paper and mod poged the crap out of those wood blocks. And here is the end result...not perfect...but they can get tossed around and knocked down...no problem. Mine are safe from disaster now.
