Betze and Isaac are now officially engaged!! And this Saturday we’re having the bridal shower and the following Saturday they’re getting married! I’m so excited for her, but I’m so sad to be losing my girl! She hasn’t really been living at my place for the past month now, so i’m kinda used to it… but i’m still really going to miss her! I was helping her move some of her stuff the other day and I just started thinking about it and we were talking about how weird it is that she’s not going to be single anymore and we’re not going to be having out girly nights anymore… and it made cry:( It was really sad. I’m totally going to cry at her wedding, i know it… why do I have to be so emotional?
So Betze, Isaac, Chris (Isaac’s roommate), and I headed up to Salt Lake to watch the Jazz play the Lakers. And the Jazz lost terribly:( It was pretty embarrassing, we were playing so bad! Anyway, after the game, Isaac wanted to show Chris and I where he and Betze had picked out their dream piece of land to buy and build a house on it (which was all part of the plan). So we head up there and there is just the most beautiful view of the city! You can see the capital and the Temple… it was absolutely gorgeous! Before we got there, Betze was talking about how they had gone their on one of their first dates and they saw some deer running across the field and she was saying how romantic it was, and really wanted there to be deer again:) So when we were all standing there looking at the beautiful view, Betze says, “Look there are some deer! Ohh honey, this is so magical!” haha it was so cute and perfect… i felt like it was a movie. Isaac then makes his move and starts sweet talking her and gets down on one knee and asks her:)!! And she cried a little bit. It was so adorable, she just looked like the happiest girl in the world! I was there trying to snap as many pictures as possible to catch every cute little moment. It was so exciting to be a part of it:)! I just love that girl and I’m so happy for her! But sad that she has to leave me.
So last night, I had the joy of getting together with my girls (Mary, Allison, and Sarah) and as we were standing in line chatting away, someone noticed Elizabeth Smart standing in front of us! She was just with a group of girls and looked adorable and happy… it was just kinda cool to see her. And then as we were eating, guess who walks in?? Yup, Dustin and a date… and he comes over and talks with us and it was fine, maybe a bit awkward, and then he reassures me, “So I think I’m going to set her (his date) up with Jason! What do you think?” But I didn’t even know her, she was way cute, but i was just like, i don’t know sure… So it was a little interesting, but fun to be with my girls!
After we ate, we went over to this new ice cream place called Sub Zero where they mix what you want in some milk and stuff, then they blow some nitrogen gas or whatever on it to make it freeze and that was it… it was pretty cool! It probably wasn’t the best ice cream, but it was cool to see them make it!
I’m not too sure that I believe in ghosts… but there was definitely some scary something in my house last night… I was scared out of my mind! It was about 5 a.m. and I was woken up by hearing the t.v. in Betze’s room and it was really loud! And I knew that Betze wasn’t home…so i thought hmm…maybe she came home? But why is she listening to her t.v. so loud at 5 in the morning?? So I go out into the hall and peek into her room and she is not there, but her t.v. is definitely on and very loud… and i look around and no one’s there. I was extremely freaked out. So i run back into my room and lock the door, turn on some comforting MoTab, say a little prayer, and try to think about something happy so that I can fall back asleep. But it was hard not think about the creepiness of what just happened. I have no idea how that happened…any ideas?
(When the t.v. was on, it was the news and they said that gas in CA has now reached $4 a gallon! ahh!)
These past two weeks have been….well there is not even a word to express how awful, stressful, emotional, anxious they have been…. But now it’s Spring Break!! Hallelujah!
So two weeks ago I had my lecture mid-term, and I spent every free moment and late nights studying and reviewing 11 chapters… Then last week, I had my lab mid-term, along with a lecture quiz, lab quiz, oral quiz/hw… AND being sick and sleeping for two days because of whatever it was i had, which equaled two days that I was behind in studying, which equals more stress and anxiety.
After my mid-term on Sat. morning, I just went straight to babysitting the Sallenbacks while the parents were out of town… But that wasn’t even all that stressfu, I quite enjoyed it actually cause i haven’t seen those kids in like a week and half! So it was so nice to see them and it was nice cause they were excited to see me:) It was fun, we just played… And on Sunday I decided to try to take them to church!…haha that was very interesting! Their church starts at 9, and so since we lost an hour, I had to wake the kids up (which I was bummed about cause we all could have totally slept in). I took them into sacrament meeting, (which we were late for) and we sat in the very very back with the folding chairs… and they were doing very good for about 15 minutes, just coloring and behaving… then Boston gets out this book of stickers and wants to stick the stickers on the chairs, and i gave him the look like ‘you better not’… So he decides to run all the way in the back and stick them on the other chairs where I couldn’t stop him. Then Ty runs back to get him and he runs away from her up towards the front, so then I have to get up and chase him, so he then runs in the other direction… So at this time, everyone that is sitting in the back folding chairs is watching us and i’m sure laughing or getting annoyed, so I try to go get him and he runs opposite, so I just wait for him to come back around and I grab him, and we just headed out into the hall and played out in the hall until Sacrament meeting was over. haha it was crazy. And then I got to take them into their classes and I got to go to my class with out the kids! Although, Boston was not excited about going to nursery and afterwards they said that he did alright, but he kept screaming for me…haha We went home and ate lunch then everyone went down for naps. ahhh… Joy, Pace, Chase, and Cotton all came over for dinner and we played for a bit. The kids loved Pace’s superman game! (the pictures above) And here is this adorable video of Chase that we took at their house:
Anyway, so that was that… and now it’s freedom!!! (kinda…. i do need to start reading the next chapter we will be quized on) but no quizes or tests this week! yaaaayyy!! And Joy and Pace get to go out on a very over due date! I can finally babysit for them!haha
This morning, I decided to go do baptisms at the temple… and it got me thinking how lucky we are to have a temple so close! A few months ago, a boy in my ward was baring his testimony and he mentioned that his parents are living in China, and she goes to the temple every month (or week) without fail, even though it’s a 5 hour plane ride. I can’t remember if he said every said month or week, but I just remember that it was a lot for how much she had to travel. So it got me thinking, how even I struggle making time to go the temple, even though it takes me less than ten minutes to get there! We are so blessed and lucky to have so many temples around to attend!
The other day when I was at Wal-Mart, I couldn’t help but notice a new feature… As I walked down the so-it-seemed-darker frozen isle, the lights inside the freezer would turn on as I walked pass. It was like, I was in hollywood and the lights would turn on as I walked down the runway, kind of thing…haha Anyway, I’m thinking it’s a new energy saving feature. It was really cool! After a few seconds, the lights would turn off if no motion was sensed, and as soon as someone else would walk by, the would turn on. Pretty cool. And smart.
