🔗 Apple forcing iPhone users to upgrade to iOS 26 to patch security holes
I was wondering why I could not see 18.7.3 as an option for my iPhone. Ducking Apple!!! 🤯🤯
I am really mad. I don’t want to upgrade yet. I have it on iPad and I don’t like it. There are visual glitches left and right!
I really like that on my blog, I can post as many links I want. Or none. I own it, I get to decide. Same thing for hashtags or whatever. It’s past the time for people to realize how they can be free and ditch these walled gardens that restrict everything.

Imagine a carpenter who couldn’t figure out how to adjust their table saw, or a surgeon who shrugged and said something like, “I’m just not a scalpel person.” We would never accept that. But in the field of knowledge work, “I’m just not a tech person” has become a permanent identity instead of a temporary gap to be filled.
Another amazing blog post!

Renewed Reeder for another year. I wanted to have moved to NetNewsWire, but I was lazy to figure out the sync situation, so now I have another year to think about this.
I’ve stopped positing about what I am currently reading, keep book lists in the blog, but Robin Sloan’s Moonbound deserves its own post. 📕
I wish a next one shows up soon because I am about to finish it, and I will miss it! Amazing book!
🔗 Fifteen years: wow
This is how the Great Notes Consolidation plan begins! Now it will probably take me a decade to have this all organised! 🤣
Sinterklaas!
We saw his arrival last weekend in The Hague, but my photos were not good. Glad I got a nice one today.
Needy programs. I’ve seen at least two other bloggers linking to this post. I’d usually stop and not post about it, but it’s too good to miss. And I miss simple software. I should write more about it.
🔗 The Pivot by Charlie Stross - sent from a friend. Terrific reading.
Also, late in October, this happened:
Got rid of a chunky 16-inch MBP and got an iPad Pro. I’m really liking it, even though I haven’t fully used it.
Just realised that I haven’t posted in a while. Life is kinda of busy. I really like my new job and the fact that there is a lot to do. Never a dull moment. Completely the opposite of what I was having on the past few months at Atlassian.
Code orange today. Super windy and rainy around here. Staying home today.
