A Little Random...

ImageAs you've well seen so far, I tend to take a lot of scenery pictures, and I've pulled together some random pictures I've taken along the way to share with you.  These were taken with my cell phone.  So, some of them are a bit grainy.  (Link to Picasaweb)

Shelly Beach, NSW

ImageHere are few pics from a recent to Shelly Beach.  This beach is much more rocky than the other beaches I've seen here.  Plus, the flies are ruthless.  Apparently, this is an Oz thing.  Flies during the summer tend to be huge pests.  At one point, I counted about 30 or so that were hitching a ride on the back of Travis's t-shirt.  Crazy!!  (Link to Picasaweb)

Berry & Kiama, NSW

ImageHappy New Year, everybody!  I am finally getting some time to write again.  It's been hard finding time online.

To catch you up a bit, I took Travis to the South Coast for his birthday back in November.  We stayed in the quaint town of Berry that basically has one main street with good shops and some nice restaurants.  We spent a Saturday on the wine tour bus.  The bus picks you up at the motel and takes you to 4 of the wineries around the area.  We got very lucky because it was supposed to rain the whole weekend, but it turned out to be a beautiful day for our tour. Anyway, we joined a group of girls that were having a weekend away to catch up with their friends, and they ended up being a lot of fun.  At first, I wasn't quite sure if we were crashing the party because they were all in their pajamas.  They urged us to go change into pj's in order to join in, but we declined.  In the end, they were definitely a fun crowd and great gals to go wine touring with.

The next day, we drove towards Kiama to see the famous Blowhole, which turned out not to be as impressive as I'd heard it is.  The weather wasn't cooperating to create enough pressure. At least I saw it.  The better part was seeing the Minnamurra Rainforest.  We saw a wallaby (smaller version of the kangaroo) in the woods!  (Link to Kiama/Minamurra website)
