The Taylor Family First Annual Halloween Party

It was a hit! I don't know why we haven't been doing this for years! There was only one rule:
1. Everyone must wear a costume. This was strictly enforced by our Bouncer/ Party Planning Committee Co-President Kristin.

I was really impressed that everyone had a costume, the creativity that was displayed, and how willing everyone was to participate! The night was full of classic Halloween games: a 3-legged race, bobbing for apples, and eating doughnuts off the string. And no Halloween would be complete without chili!(Thanks Jackie!) Needless to say, this was the first of many annual Halloween parties to come.

Mr. Clean/ Mop- please excuse my lack of creativity... I work a lot!

Nanny and Poppy- What good sports, and GREAT costumes!!

Turns out the apple-bobbing contest is not a flattering event, so this is the only picture I am willing to reveal.

If you are wondering "Is his entire head soaked?" the answer would be yes! And his big win inspired many of the adults to use his technique.

A New Leaf

I have never had a green thumb. In fact, I have quite the opposite, whatever you would call that. I have a tendency to either water the plant until it drowns, or dehydrate it until it shrivels up. It is quite tragic. However I have turned over a new leaf! I know this is less than thrilling to everyone else, but I actually succeeded in growing something from a seed to harvest! Not to mention, summer just arrived! Here is proof:Image
I agree it would be better if I had grown something that people actually enjoy eating, but everyone humored me and pretended to LOVE radishes!

A Visit

Image
Last weekend we made a short trip back to the place we called home for 2 years. I had completely forgotten just how much fun we had there, and what a beautiful place it is. I think being there as a normal civilian/tourist and not a student/soldier really added to the enjoyment. We were so happy to spend time with friends, and wish that we could all be neighbors again. There were a lot of good memories in that place that I hope we will always have!

Driving down the 5 to Gilroy. This is the best time of year to be in Monterey County. While it is snowing and cold in Utah, it is green and beautiful there!

Image

The familiar road out to our "Abandonded Beach". Anyone remember the hauling of coolers and laundry baskets down this road and off of the cliffs for a day of fun?
Image

The only company we had all day on the beach.

We went and ate at our favorite place Compagno's and "Uncle Bennett" let us borrow his passes to the aquarium. Sorry this picture is a little fuzzy.
Image

The aquarium has replaced the river otter exhibit that was on display the whole time we lived there with a sea horse exhibit. It was very cool to see.
Image

These two boys couldn't get enough of the sea-creatures!
Image

Lover's Point. Brady actually admitted to missing the run down here. I never thought I would hear him say he missed running... ever
Image

Brady visited with some of his instructors. It was fun to hear he hasn't forgotten any of his language skills.
Image

We were so happy that we could be there for our friend Dan's promotion. Congrats Dan, that is very exciting!
Image

The Yoders (our Amish friends as we like to call them) The friends that talked us into the visit, and were nice enough to let us stay at their home, keep them up late, and wake them up early. Thanks for the fun!

It is hard to believe that we are all smiling after 3 nights of intense Settler's of Catan.

Winter Fun

Just a quick post so my account stays active, and you know we are still alive! A few weeks ago we went on a quick snowmobiling trip in Idaho. Here are some pictures that again, don't quite give justice to the fun we had. Some snowshoeing in the forest Image All of us Image Image Double-Rescue.. I went to rescue Kristin, and Brdiger ended up rescuing me. Image Bridger and Kristin Image J.J and Natalie Image Image Sledding down the highway. Apparently that isn't an issue in Idaho. Image

In October we were able to spend 10 short days in the Caribbean with some of our favorite people. These pictures really don't do justice in showing all the fun that we had. Turns out that cruising is our new favorite way to travel! Thanks Krissy for planning this needed vacation. Can't wait to do it again!

Cabin Time

Image Island Park is probably the happiest place on earth, and we are so lucky that we were able to enjoy it again this summer. It had been nearly 3 years since our last visit to the cabin, so this year's visit seemed even better than usual! We spent a very busy week there, and still weren't able to fit in everything we wanted to do. I guess that means we will just have to go again!
Here are a ton of pictures of some of the fun we had.

Breck and I practically share a birthday. While her and I just happen to be the only people out catching guppies in the river, the rest of the family decorated the cabin for our "surprise" party.

ImageWe both got these awesome shirts for our birthday that say " BridgeCo Builders" I guess it is an AMAZING construction general contractor company that has done some INCREDIBLE work for our family. We were really excited about these shirts since BridgeCO Builders is so great.

Image
Some good old 4wheeling after a rain storm. Best idea EVER!

Image
Highlighting Breck's hair. Not really the BEST idea, but a pretty darn good one :)....
(sorry Breck!)
Image
Ernie's Big Horn Deli... Best sandwiches in Montana.
(This picture is for Cousin Bill, because we know that he loves this place a LOT)
Image
Enjoying our Eagle's Chocolate Malt's.
Image
A little fishing on the Snake River. I caught this little dude on my second cast!
Image
Some more fishing... Brady caught this big whopper!

Just re-living their childhood. I am not entirely certain that
they've actually ever left child-hood.

Looking for guppies.

Jumping off the trestle. It only took everyone 45 minutes to talk me into doing it. I am not sure what I hate the most; the temperature of the water, the free-fall feeling, or just the anticipation of both. Any of those factors are reason enough for me to keep my feet on the bridge. What got me in the water? Bridger telling me I would have to ride the "wuss mobile" home if I didn't jump. Thanks Bridge!

A little motorcycle ride into West Yellowstone.

And of course, the Jell-O eating contest.
Lime Jell-O taste's like what I imagine Pine-Sol to taste like.
Not so delicious.

This is after burrito night (courtesy of the Huntsman Family)
The boys had to polish off 3 boxes each of a concoction of flavors.

And the winner is.........

Turns out there isn't "always room for Jell-O."
Some of us had to learn that the hard way.

Boating at the Reservoir.
