Christmas Part 1

I guess it's a good thing I didn't make a New Year's resolution to blog more, eh? I know myself too well for that resolution stuff- I don't like to make promises I can't keep. The verdict is out on whether that makes me lazy and unmotivated or just a realist... I digress...

I am post dating these and hoping it works. I want to at least keep this "journaling" in categorized in the right year, so here's hoping this posts into December ;-) It doesn't feel right even to post Christmas now, but hey, sometimes you gotta to what you gotta do to move forward, yes?

So with all that said here comes all the Christmas catch up.

Image
Love Christmas time, but I will say 2013 I think I will deem "the Year of the Funk" for me. I have had a hard time adjusting to some things and kinda feel like I failed on really enjoying some of my favorite times (fall, Christmas) Not to say we didn't enjoy so much! I just wasn't very proactive on the festivities, I guess.
Image
(Side note: LOVE these silly sisters! :)

There were of course the class parties!
Image
(and the busted up faces :-\ )

Bennett's "old" Kindergarten class (post for another day?)

Sadie's pajama party!

And Hannah's dearest sweetest teacher! She broke down and cried at the party and started with "I just love you guys..." and I thought for sure she was going to tell us she was leaving or something horrible! And she just went on to say how much she misses them when she isn't with them! I mean WHAT??? Something is seriously wrong with her (;-P) but in all seriousness wow! What an amazing teacher and all of us moms cried and gushed over her caring sincerity. It was a moment :)

Sadie played shy at her preschool music program (I mentioned big kids program in my last post).
Image
Notice the tongue-in-cheek-shy-face. (Shakin my head)
Image
And her beautiful teachers. Love them! (I mean when you have kids in school you really learn to appreciate and fully know the blessing of wonderful teachers in our kids lives!!!)

We did our little annual dinner/zoo light trip a little later than normal this year and Gigi was in town and Ross and Lori and the fam joined us too! Fun night!

Bennett decided it was really cool to smile every time with his mouth half open and his eyes slightly scary. Not sure you noticed, but, I did!

Not sure Photoshop coulda handles this washed outness!

Girl cousins.

And I actually took quite a number of pictures on Christmas day so I will break the posts here!

Between Collecting Dust

Thanksgiving aside these picture are all of  have captured on my "real" camera since birthdays! Just a few things between it sitting there collecting dust. So sad. I love taking pictures and miss it... writing too. Maybe someday time will allow more again.

That said here are some miscellaneous pics that I will follow with a post of some phone pics from the rest of the last couple months to hopefully in a hurry catch up before Christmas is already here and I just throw in the towel on this whole thing ;-)

Halloween flashback! Rapunzel, Minnie, and Mario. Quite the crew!
Image
Can I just go on record saying I strongly disliked that Rapunzel wig. I mean, strongly..
But hey, she loved it, and... I have come to grips with the fact that it's not for me it's for them. So hey, I have let go of the reigns on the Halloween costumes. Big of me... I know ;-)
Image
That was a mean 'stache. I think the boy was pulling black fuzz out of his teeth for days :-D
Image
Minnie. This one was a real shocker (not :).
Image

Last weekend was the church Christmas concert. The little kids number was themed after Mumford and Sons. This was as Mumford as we could find.

Girl sings her heart out at these things. Love it.

And as for this one- there were serious tears shed over the mustache and hair. I hated to make something out of nothing but honestly our kids could use a little "loosening up" from time to time. It was not a play to humiliate him I assure you! :-) You can't see from these pics but there were many a kids in their awesome bearded, vested garb!( Also, if you note from above there were no tears shed over the Mario mustache, so ya know....:)

Then we postponed our Zoo Light plans due to rain and Hannah and daddy spruced up "realllll nahce" last minute for the Snowflake Ball at the elementary school. That's right-- another yearly daddy daughter dance!

Image
I'm not gonna lie I am over the moon for this picture. She was nervously playing with Ryan's shirt collar as she talked to him. I just can't handle it!
Image

Image
 A curtsy of course!

This is just part 1 of the randomness... Part 2 to follow!

Thanksgiving

So I'm skipping... well the whole season of fall pretty much... but hey let's come back to that, shall we? Good! Because I was about to email these family pics from yesterday to-well- family-- when I had the bright idea that I could just load them onto the blog. That is after all a major purpose of this silly thing isn't it?! Yes!
Image
This was Ryan's third year doing the Turkey Trot with his dad. Pretty fun little tradition if ya ask me!
And I love to lay low and cook breakfast for his return. Then we do "brunch" to hold us over to the main event ;-)
Image

Image
On their return! Way to go guys!

By afternoon we head to the Braithwaits. We even got a few family pics this year. Forgot to get one of just my 3. Woops. Oh well I am happy to have gotten some cute ones regardless!

So much to be thankful for each and every day. Even the hard days. This picture sure does make me thankful for this husband and these little munchkins!

God is good. Always.
