Logan

Do you recognize that sword? You know those pieces to the vacuum cleaner that never get used? They're his favorite toy.

Logan says so many funny things. A few things I remember him saying today...

Logan: I will wear those clothes when I turn into a girl.
Me: When will you turn into a girl?
Logan: Um, Tuesday.

(swinging a broom in the air) This is for 'choo-ing' bugs. Choo! Choo, bugs! Choo!

(he was singing 'I want candy') I want candy! I want girl!

(he told someone about Bret) That is not my dad, that's my boyfriend.

we're great babysitters.

Disneyland

Friday night dinner at a Vietnamese Vegan restaurant.
We love California.

Saturday morning.

Everything about this trip was perfect.
Image

We rode everything 2 or 3 times and had the best luck with lines! They were usually really short when we got there and long when we left. Once someone gave us their fast pass and another time a worker let us go straight to the ride without waiting when the line was really long.
Image

I still love this castle as much as I did when I was little.
(It looks like a kid took this picture but it was actually a 6 ft. tall man. He bent down and tried to get the perfect picture for us. I thought it was really nice of him!)

That night we ate dinner at the Blue Bayou which is the restaurant inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I've always wanted to eat there! The ceiling is painted like the sky and it's really dark, they have lanterns hanging and you can hear frogs and crickets from the ride. Even when I told myself I was inside I didn't believe it. It was really fun and the food was awesome.

It was the perfect trip and we met so many nice people. In one of the shops there I found a turquoise ring that Bret bought me. I've been wanting a turquoise ring forEVER. It was only $12 but I was so grateful because I've wanted one for so long and this one is perfect. I decided to make it a gratitude ring. Every time I look at it I think of something I'm grateful for.
We all have a lot to be thankful for.

Reminiscing

This was the first picture we took together. I'm pretty sure Bret wanted proof that he had a girlfriend. I think he was excited, but you know how well he hides his emotions.
Image

This was taken in my room just before going to eat with my mom. We fell so in love so fast.
Image

This is the day he proposed. We had spent the entire day together, he took me home around midnight and my roommate thought we needed a picture. We were so tired and we look it, but I'm glad we have a picture from this day!
Image

I remember he had the ring and I knew he had picked it up the night before so I was just waiting for him to propose. I had picked out the ring and I wanted it! He put something in my hand, it was candy. He got on one knee, and tied his shoe. He teased me all morning long until FINALLY he proposed! Even though I knew it was coming, I bawled like a baby, and each time I looked at my ring I cried again. And now I'm crying again. Darn it.

This was from our impromptu engagement shoot. We thought it would be fun to take our pictures while it was snowing. I learned that snow makes my hair wet and snowflakes end up in the strangest places in pictures.
Image

This is the day I received my endowments, a week before our sealing. I was so nervous, but every time I looked at Bret I felt safe. I still feel that way. Like he can protect me from anything. He just makes everything better.

Today we have been married for 4 years.

Someone asked me once if couples stop being newlyweds after a year of marriage or after their first child. We still feel very much like newlyweds. Butterflies, the whole bit. I honestly can't imagine not feeling like newlyweds. I don't think I'll ever stop finding new things to love about him. All the quirky, weird things we do are what we live for. We constantly embarrass ourselves (and each other) in public, we never sleep because we lay in bed laughing until morning (we're the worst neighbors), and I'm late everywhere I go because he makes me laugh when I should be getting ready. Today Bret kept saying "They say the first 4 years are the hardest". He's mean and made some very awkward conversations. He's perfect for me.

California again!

We just made our hotel reservation for the Hilton in Anaheim. Can you guess where we're going for our 4 year anniversary?

If we can't live there we'll at least visit enough that it feels like we do.

I thought this was cute.

We're going out of town for the weekend so I asked Bret to set out what he wanted me to pack.

This is what he left.

And that's all he left. I think my pile might be a bit bigger.

Back to the future

A photographer did a Back to the Future project where people reenacted their old photos. I'm in love.

It would be so fun to retake pics from back in the day.

#3 Follow a Budget

Because of #3 we decided to spend date night last night at Target. I had a small list of things I needed and we always have fun walking around that store. Fun date night? Yep. Money saver? Not even close. Somehow I always spend way too much there. (I bought new sunglasses and realized when I got home that they're men's sunglasses. Is it wrong if I still wear them?)

Image
(If you're wondering why Bret's lips are so pretty he had just used some of my CHAPSTICK. I know it looks like lipstick, but it's burt's bees, I swear. He's not a drag, he's not a queen. Baby, he was born this way.)

Also, it turns out #2 helps me with #10! And #3 and #5! Who knew? Bret hasn't even stepped foot in the kitchen all week. He's tried but I send him away. I'm getting speedy fast at chopping onions and can chop 3 before I start crying. Speed is my goal. The faster I'm out of the kitchen the better.

We've been vegan for one year.

Seriously. It went by super fast.

Image

The "official" day is tomorrow, but that is the day Bret starts at his new store so we celebrated today instead. We tried a new yummy recipe and had our favorite vegan cookies.

Image

Not sure if we're rockin out or shooting something, but we're excited. You get it.
