TWO!

I still cannot believe that my baby is two years old. He is growing too fast, but at the same time, I am loving watching him grow and learn. He is talking more and more. He loves to mimic words and actions, especially dads, he loves to copy dad. He is still just as busy as ever, definitely keeps us on our toes. He loves to be outside, no matter what we are doing. He loves his family, he is always giving hugs and kisses. He is more into books now and loves to pick ones out for us to read. We have been working on the alphabet with flash cards and he does pretty good, except for L, H and R. He just looks at me when we get to those letters. We had his doc appointment on May 12 and he is right on track. His weight is 29.4 lbs, 70%; height is 36 in., 90% and his head is 48 cm, 30%. He was so good at his appointment, he didn't even cry when they did the shot. He just sat there and watched them do. He is such a big boy! I love my little guy so much!

Big Boy Room

For Wyatt's birthday, we got him a big boy bed (Cars, of course) and some new decorations for his room. No more baby room for him. I think it turned out really cute and he loves it.

Party Time!

We had Wyatt's birthday party on May 7 at a park in Draper. I was nervous about the weather because it had been rainy, but it was perfect. Everybody came and we had a great time. My friend made super cute cupcakes and we had hot dogs and chips to eat (Wyatt's fave!). Wyatt was really into opening his presents this year, it was so cute. He got so much cute stuff. I still cannot believe my little guy is 2!

My DAD!

I am behind on my blogging...May 6 was my dad's birthday and, of course, we all got together (minus Brandon, he had to work...boo!) and went to dinner. We went to Red Robin, it was delish. Then back to my mom's for cake and ice cream. I helped my sis make the cake for my dad and it turned out sooo good! I love my dad so much and I hope he had a great birthday!!

5K!

I have been wanting to do a 5K for a while and have been trying to get in shape to do one. The Salt Lake Running Co had a free 5K on April 30th and I thought this was the perfect opportunity (since it was free, I really had no excuse!). My sis, her hubby and I signed up together and a couple of friends from work also signed up. I am, by no means, a runner, but I am working to get there...one day hopefully. I had been walking/jogging for the weeks prior. The day of the 5K, it had snowed over night. We didn't even think about not doing it though, we bundled up and headed out. The weather actually worked out great. The sun came out and we didn't get too hot. I jogged most of it and finished in 44 minutes, which I was very proud of since I just started jogging/running a short time ago. I can't wait to do more of them. I love that it keeps me on track and motivated. I really want to be healthier and in better shape.

Another Birthday...and Easter!

My sister Ashley's birthday was April 6 and, of course, my family got together for the occassion. We had yummy dinner at Su Casa and then cake and ice cream at my moms. The first half of the year is super busy in my family, but I love it. We get together so often and its always a good time. Then on April 9, some of Ash's friends and a couple of my friends went to the Tavernacle to celebrate her birthday. It was a fun place, really chill. It was a lot of fun.

I love Easter! We colored eggs over at my parents house this year. Last year Wyatt was too young to get it, but this year he got into the egg coloring. On Easter, Wyatt got up to see what the Easter bunny brought. He was confused at first, but then saw the kisses and dug right it. The Easter bunny hid some plastic eggs with candy and toys around the front yard for Wyatt to hunt. He totally got into the hunt and found every single one. Such a big boy!

Randomness

I cannot believe it is already April...this year is already flying by. We have been somewhat busy for this first part of the year. We took Wyatt swimming again, he is always nervous at first, but once he gets used to it he will kick his feet and have a good time. We saw the prettiest rainbow one weekend after a rain storm. We could see the whole thing. I had to take two pics to get the whole thing because it was so big. We have played outside A LOT! In the warm, in the cool and in the snow. Wyatt loves being outside no matter what the weather is. We took a hike up in the mountains behind our house. It was a nice hike and we did it on a gorgeous day. Brandon built our chickens a new chicken coop, which turned out really good. The chickens love it and have a lot more room for egg laying...just in time for Easter.

I mentioned in a previous post that I had gall stones and would have to get my gallbladder removed...well the surgery was on April 1st. I am still healing up, but I feel a lot better. The doc was great and said it went really well. He said it was full of gall stones and that it was definitely a good thing we got it out. I am truly blessed with the greatest family. My mother-in-law took Wyatt Thursday night before the surgery and kept him over night and all day Friday. Then my parents took him the whole weekend. Wyatt loves the sleepovers with his grandparents and I love that they love taking him. Monday during the day Brandons grandparents took him for a few hours so that I could get even more rest. Even though I missed my little guy like crazy I am glad that he got to spend all that time with family.

Now on to more birthdays in my family...Easter and of course Wyatt's second birthday. These next few months will definitely be fun!
