Thomas and Dad

Bubbles

Rebecca and Landon came over the other day and Rebecca started blowing bubbles for the boys. They thought it was pretty much as good as Baby Einstein!

Pops' Suitcase

Image
Mom, Thomas and I helped Dad pack for England since he had to leave a day earlier than Mom. After he had everything in his suitcase he said that he was going to take Thomas with him and set him on top of his suitcase. Thomas thought that was a very good plan!

Thomas' Dedication

Last weekend we publicly dedicated Thomas to the Lord. Our goal was just to vow in front of other people that our goal is to be as Godly as we can as parents. Our church will have a baby dedication in the spring, but we wanted to do it sooner and have the freedom to invite our family, a few Newnan friends and our whole small group. We decided to ask my Dad to do it while he and my Mom were here for our Thanksgiving/Christmas visit. It was a sweet ceremony and we're so glad we did it! It made us so thankful for our family and our sweet Newnan friends also!

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving Day with Brax's family at his Aunt and Uncle's house in Birmingham. It was so nice to be with family and Thomas had lots to watch with cousins Jack, Emma & Charlie running around! Oh, and discovered Chicken Dance Elmo-he was a huge fan!

The Kings and The Graves

On Thanksgiving Day we stopped in to see the Kings and the Graves on our way to Brax's Aunt & Uncle's house. We hadn't seen the Kings in FOREVER, and we hadn't seen the Graves in awhile either. It was so nice to visit-even if just for a few minutes. (And yes Thomas still has his pajamas on because sometimes it's just easier...)

Newnan

Image

Image
As Thomas and I were walking yesterday, on a perfect day I was reminded of how beautiful Newnan is. This is view walking into town, after we had already walked through the historic homes. I know it's not Europe, but it looks a little bit like it. (I can dream, right?) Then, on our way back out of town we walked over the bridge and looked at our new park. It's not finished yet, but Thomas and I are closely watching its progress, hoping that it will be ready in the spring for LOTS of playing time. We live in a truly beautiful part of the country, and I am so thankful for where God has us now with our new town, and all of our new friends that we're making! We obviously don't know the future, but we're very content with the present!

I will praise God's name in song and glorify Him in thanksgiving. Psalm 69:30

And because of this thankfulness it makes me think about a verse that has come up over and over again recently.

For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. Colossians 1:16

And obviously this verse is significant. But, because it's come up recently around me several times (and also not in the form of this verse, but also in the form of a conversation with my mom about listening to God) I've been wondering what exactly God is wanting me to learn from this verse. And Brax and I were talking about it, and I occured to me that even though we have lots of different things going on, and we focus a lot on God's influence in our lives, I think he wants me to just focus on him. Not, on the things he's working on in my life, but just him.

So, now on to the fluffy, picture filled blog as it normally is...

One Cool Dude!

I got Thomas some sunglasses this last weekend because he always seems to be bothered by the sunlight. He smiles as soon as I put them on. Apparently he knows how cool he looks!

A Weekend in Arab

Last weekend we went to Arab to visit the fam! Thomas got to spend quality time with Papa, Mimi and Aunt Katey; play in the big tub and the kitchen sink; watch Belle and Buckley play; and sit in front of his first fire.

For Halloween Thomas was Aslan. We went to the square with Landon the Frog and trick-or-treated at the shops. Then, Halloween night we went to Summergrove and visited our friends the Williams (Snow White and Cinderella). Basically Brax and I got lots of candy!!

Fayetteville

For six days in October Thomas and I went to Fayetteville to visit Pops and Gram. After a very shaky trip there, and a whole day spent in the Atlanta airport without enough formula we had a great time! Thomas got to spend some quality time with his Arkansas grandparents!
Image
Gram and Pops kept Thomas on Saturday afternoon. I took their ticket and Becky and I went to the game and watched the Razorbacks whomp Ole Miss! Whooooooo Pig Sooie!

One of the reasons for going to Fayetteville was the go to some of the MANY craft fairs that are around NWA in October. We had a great time strolling through all the fun stuff. On Sunday when we went it was FREEZING and we had to buy a blanket so Thomas would be ok. (And no we did not plan the outfit. We're just related.)

We were in Fayetteville right after Thomas' six month birthday so Gram hosted a party in his honor. He didn't actually get to eat anything at the party, but it was still fun. He shared his birthday with Becky, Miss Lisa and Kendall. What a selfless kid!

ImageWhile we were in Fayetteville Thomas played in some "new" things and with some "new" toys. One of which was the Wall Street Journal-Pops feels that it is very important for Thomas to start liking it at a young age!
