Twice Thomas has offered to carry my purse.
Once, his reason was: The boys should do all the work.
The second time it was: You have a handful.
Mae: What are these?
MiMi: Scones
Mae: Yum! I love scums!
Thomas: I know how much I would cry if I got stung. I would weep.
Mae: That nightgown is kinda scratchy. But I don't mind...because it has a crown and glitter.
Mae: This cheese is kinda yucky, but I like it.
Mae: Mommy! Thomas was immerupping!
Me: Did you get up a second ago?
Thomas: Yes. I mean not one second ago. I mean at like 8:00.

St. Patrick's Day
Our friends the Spinks came over for St. Patrick's day. We always have such a fun time with them, and tonight was no different. I tried to make either Irish inspired, or green food. The kids had grapes, hot dogs, veggie straws and cupcakes. The grown-ups had cream cheese with green pepper jelly, shepherd's pie, Irish Soda bread, green beans and then Brax finished it off with these. Delish!
I got some visors for the kids to decorate with stickers. They had a great time playing together. And no visit with the Spinks is complete if Mae and Caitlyn haven't dressed up.
Mae's First Soccer Game

>Mae is playing soccer for the first time this year. We probably wouldn't have started her yet, except that four of her friends from church are playing on the same team, so we jumped on the bandwagon. The first game was HOT! Mae did some running around, although not necessarily anywhere near the ball. She had fun though! Go Blue Crabs! Pinch! Pinch! Pinch!

New Stairs
Dr. Seuss's Birthday
Thomas got to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday at school by dressing up as his favorite Dr. Seuss character. When I asked him who he wanted to be he immediately said, "The Cat in the Hat!"
At first I was a little daunted by The Cat in the Hat's costume, but actually it wasn't hard at all! I Googled it and there were lots of ideas. Black clothes, white oval, white face paint, hat and red bow.
He was adorable, if I do say so myself. The bummer is that he spent almost the whole time he was at school with his head down in their tornado safe room. He did get to take a break from the tornadoes for lunch with PaPa and MiMi, and then ended up getting out of school at 1:00 before the next round of storms came through.
The Duke of Gloucester

As most of you know by now, about two weeks ago we got a new puppy, Duke. He's an English Springer Spaniel (which Brax grew up with) and it really is like having a baby around. I have to watch him to make sure he's not "doing his business" on our only rug, and as I type he's chewing on my sock (which is on my foot.).
The kids LOVE him! They're thrilled to see him in the morning and as soon as we come back home from anywhere. His claws and teeth are sharp, so they don't love that part, but other than that they're smitten.
He's done great in his kennel, and we really are enjoying having him even if it does make life a little more complicated.
