Luke Loves Cantaloupe

Tonight we gave Luke chunks of cantaloupe in his mesh eating thing, and he LOVED it. He sucked all the juice out of it, and went at it ravenously!  He could eat it without the mesh feeding bag, but this way it was easier for him to handle since cantaloupe is a little slippery for little fingers.

Charlie's Special Weekend

My sister, Allie, went home to Dallas this weekend, so I asked if she wouldn't mind a little travel companion.  Charlie is having a BLAST at grandma and grandpa's house.  Today, he drove grandpa's toy boat in the pool, got a Happy Meal at McDonald's with grandpa, and then helped vacuum grandma and grandpa's church. :)  He was a good little traveling companion for Allie, and I'm so happy for him that he's getting spoiled and lots of love and attention.  Sometimes a middle kid needs that. (Although as an oldest child, I wouldn't know, but I know it's good for my middle child :).)

100th Day of School

Today was the 100th day of school for Tucker.  All the kindergartners at his school had a parade at the end of the school day.  It was so fun to cheer them on as they paraded down the street.  Tucker waved and smiled the whole time.  100 days is pretty impressive to me.  Tucker is a great student and he wakes up every morning so excited for school.  He is reading like a pro, and I'm blown away with his reading and writing.  He has many little friends at school, and his teacher says he meets each challenge with enthusiasm and a "can do" attitude!

Baby Crunches

Baby Luke does these awesome baby crunches or as my friend called them, baby Pilates.  He is trying to hard to move and wiggle more and sit up.  I remember Tucker doing baby crunches all the time, too.  Poor Luke works so hard, and the faces he makes are hilarious.  Also listen for his breathing-he's working hard!  I couldn't choose just one video, and so there are three-all pretty short though.  In one you even get a little of Char's singing twinkle twinkle little star.  Also at the end of the post is a picture of sweet Charlie.  I love spending the days with him, and playing with him.  Right before this picture, he had come out with a lunchbox stuffed full of toys.  His Luigi was shoved in the box bent in half.  I wanted to get a picture of that, but Charlie took him out too fast, and instead wanting a picture holding both Luigi and Mario.  Shhh...don't tell Tuck that Charlie plays with Mario when he's not around. ;)

Tucker goes to School

Tucker is in Kindergarten!  Can't believe my little boy is big enough for school already.  He LOVES school, and has a hard time on the weekends when he doesn't get to go.

When I picked him up from the first day of school, I asked how it was, and his response, "I loved it!"  He was very nervous when it came time to go to school that first morning.  As we got closer to the school building, his pace slowed.  It took me a second to realize that he was so nervous because we were running late, and I was in a hurry.  Then it dawned on me that he was a little scared.  We found his classroom, and his teacher had Play doh out for the kids.  He held it in his hand in his lap, and just kept his head down.  I said goodbye, and he quickly stood up, said, "Mom!" and gave me one last hug and kiss. I love that little boy.  As I left the school, I was able to peek in on his classroom, and he still sat ever so still with his head down. It is so unlike Tuck to be nervous, but I can understand because it is such a big change.

Everyday since, he's been excited to go, and he evens likes to buy his lunch.  His favorite day is Wednesday because that's cheeseburger day. :)  He is learning lots of new songs, and has improved so much in writing his name and all the letters in the alphabet.  We practice the sounds of each letter, and he  is excited to learn to read.  Every night we read a story and make sure to point out the words as we read, and we'll pause when it comes to a word he knows so that he can say it.  I can tell is so eager to learn to read by himself so that he can read books at school during quiet or library time.

Luke Eats Solids

Our sweet little Luke is almost 6 months (on the 15th).  Today I made him oatmeal/porridge, and he "ate" solids for the first time.

I've used this website as a resource with preparing homemade baby food/knowing when to start what foods with my two other boys.  Thought I would throw it out there if anyone else is interested.

And now on to the good stuff: pictures and a video!

Charlie Goes to School

Charlie loves to go places.  If anyone is going somewhere, he says, "I GO! I GO!"  Doesn't matter where it is, he wants to go.  When Adam leaves for school, Charlie wants to go with him.  Recently we bought Charlie a backpack, and when he sees Adam put on his backpack, Charlie says, "Where's my backpack?"  Finally Charlie had a chance to go with Adam to school, and he LOVED it!  Adam just ran in to his office to pick up a few things, and took Charlie with him.  Charlie loved sitting in Adam's office mate's chair, and playing with a rubber ducky and ball that he (the office mate) keeps there.  Sweet Charlie, he is a quiet, sensitive boy, who loves to snuggle with us.  We love that boy!  Two years old is so fun.
