Weekend at the River

Brian and I have been planning to hang out with my cousin Chris and his wife Britany (I'm pretty sure thats not how you spell it), so we took a road trip to Junction to stay at Brian's parents cabin. Brian's friend Clark and his wife, Julie, also joined. The main thing on the agenda was to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go on a kyaking trip.

Image We all were sporting the fishing shirt even though Chris and Brian were the only 2 that fished.

Image The boys always seemed to be ahead of the girls, but we held our own.

Image Taking a breather and resting our arms after about 3 hours rowing.

Image No, they weren't running into me, we had to stop rowing to take the picture. The trip ended up taking close to 5 hours and was pretty grueling at times. But it was nice to be outdoors enjoying the beautiful Texas landscape and I hope we can do it again real soon.

The Big 2-7

Well, I am officially the same age as Brian for the next 3 weeks. I love turning a year older because I become that much older than my students. I had a wonderful b-day dinner at cheddars with my family.

Image Brian and I decided that Hunter (our yellow lab) was going to be both of our birthday gifts to eachother so I expected nothing from him. I was so excited when I saw a beautiful new Bible from him on my birthday morning. I loved my old Bible but it had Schaal on the outside and Perkins is more pertinent right now. He also got me a target gift card b/c its my favorite store.

ImageMy mother in law got me a beautiful clock that we put over our fireplace. I love it and so does Briley; every time he comes in the room he yells c-l-ock, over and over.
Also, my mom got me a cute new dress, which I love new dresses.
So it was a great birthday and I am looking forward to being 27 for the next 12 months.

One of the best trips, EVER!

The much anticipated birth finally came. Since Christine and I are teachers we were really hoping Ainsley would make it before school started. She definitely pushed the limits, but her timing was perfect. After finding out how far dialated Sarah was last Thursday night we all packed our bags. I left San Angelo at 9pm that night and my mom did the same from San Antonio. We both came into Denton at 2am and woke the Sanders family up. Then we all jumped into my mom's car to make the 10 hour drive to Nebraska. We got in a little after 1 in the afternoon and were some what exhausted. Sarah had a dr's appt at 3 that my mom, sister and I were planning on attending. Christine joined Sarah in the room since we all couldn't fit and pressured the doctor to induce here that night. She caved and sent her right to the hospital. This was amazing because it was Friday night and they normally don't induce at that time or on the weekend. They broke her water at 6 and Ainsley was here by 9:30. This was my mom's and my first delivery to watch and it was the most amazing experience. I was on the verge of screaming and jumping for joy. She was a perfect little girl who came out screaming.
She weighed 7 lbs and 6 oz and was 20.5 in long.

Image I can't even begin to say how great the trip was. I hate that I live so far from my sister and her sweet family, so every moment with them is amazing. I hope that I get to see them really soon. I love you and miss you already.
