Bull Creek: Take 2

So Joey enjoyed Bull Creek so much that we had to take Ashley back. We took some pictures of each other while we were out there.
Image
Wondering why Brian isn't in the picture with me and Luc? Notice that he is in the back of this picture with his shoes on because he "wasn't going to get his feet wet" crossing over to the rock for the picture....
Image
...well he did and I am SOOOO mad that I didn't have my camera ready for the big fall.
Image
Image
Since he stripped his clothes and he was wet anyway, he decided to go for a swim. After watching him having all that fun, I had to join in. That water was so cold that I couldn't catch my breath....but it was worth he jump....so much fun.
Image
This was Luc while we were jumping. He laughed and laughed. After Brian would jump, he would say more jump over and over until Brian was back to the top to jump again.

Bull Creek: Take 1

Our friend, Joey, and his girlfriend, Ashley, came to visit from Florida this weekend. Ashley was in a wedding so had lots of weeding stuff to do while they were here. We took Joey out the Bull Creek for some outdoors fun.
Image
We found the perfect rock skipping place. Who has the best form? I'm voting Luc.

OMG

I have a new bug phobia to go along with spiders and roaches.

This fell out of my clothes as I was doing laundry the other day. I stopped breathing and I think my heart stopped. I did get enough guts to go back in there and make sure it died in the washing machine then I had to take a picture so eveyone at home could see what one looks like.
Image

Adrianne, I love you but I will NOT catch one for your insect project. I'm so glad we didn't see one that night we went looking. Laiken and I would have had the whole neighborhood thinking something horrible happened.

Playdates two days in a row

Luc had a playdate at the park yesterday with some friends from church. He played and I ate and talked.

My friend, Shakshi and her family, who I met when we lived at Riverlodge, have now moved to an apartment right beside my workplace. Luc and I stopped by to play this morning before work. Luc and Jatin were happy to see each other. They haven't seen each other in about 2 months.

After Jatin's house, Luc got to go to work with me. He loves going to work. My friend Sarah, who Luc LOVES, meets us at work to play with Luc while I am doing therapy. Thank you so much Sarah! It helps me out tremendously and Luc loves going to work with me and playing with you.

Free Museum Day

This past Sunday was Museum Day in Austin. All the museums downtown were free. Our plan was to head down to the Children's Museum after Luc's nap then go to the Texas museum. Brian and I never carry cash which causes a big problem with parking downtown. We ended up just going to the Texas museum since they have free parking then we went to TCBY...yummy!

We ended our fun afternoon at Home Slice for some delicious pizza.

Sick and Raining

We have gotten some MUCH MUCH needed rain the past couple of days. I know Luc would have loved splashing and running in the rain but he's been pretty sick. It started with a runny nose. Then came the cough and (I'm assuming) sore throat (because he's really hoarse). Now, he doesn't feel well. He has been so calm today. We ran some errands and he didn't fight or complain at all. This is very rare for Luc so I know he isn't feeling well.

Even though we've been stuck inside, we've had some fun.

I have some toys put out of Luc's reach. I try to swap out some toys occasionally for him. We brought out some of those toys.
Image
We also got crafty and finger painted. I stole my friend Kristen's idea and put him in the tub. I highly recommended this idea for finger painting. When he was finished, he enjoyed taking a washcloth and cleaning. Clean-up was super easy.
Image
And this is Luc's newest trick. He loves to jump from the coffee table to the sofa.
Image
Well, he got daring and pretended like he was going to jump to the floor. He just stood at the edge looking down for a long time until...
Image
...he jumped. haha I am so glad I was sitting there with the camera. His expression is priceless.
Image
Oh, and now, I'm starting to feel sick. Thanks Luc!

18 month/football season pictures

I had a free picture waiting for me at Picture People so I thought I might as well get a professional 18 month picture even though I took 18 month beach pictures. I couldn't think of a better outfit for Luc to wear for this time of year. WAR EAGLE!!!

And Luc even thought about how his Alabama and Mississippi State side of the family would feel about him wearing this awesome jersey

Fun things Luc says

I have been meaning to make a post of some of the cute things Luc does says that I want to remember. Kim's blog reminded me to do so.

A lot of his utterances aren't very clear but most of them can be figured out relatively easily:
"I did it" when he has done something he is proud of
"I det it" = I get it
"do ou-tide" = go outside
"tah-dah" when he's done a cool trick
"det up nonny" = Get up mommy (when Brian gets him out of bed before I'm up)
"not not daddy/nonny" = Knock Knock Daddy or Mommy (whoever's inside)
"oh dos" = oh gosh
"oh dood-dess" = oh goodness
"poop bi-puh" = there's poop in my diaper
"tee-tee doddy = tee-tee in the potty

Some of my favorites that only we understand:
"dee dee duh" = peanut butter
"yum yum" = marshmallows out of the Lucky Charms
"asses" = glasses; it is beginning to sounds more like glasses now though
"deez deez" = cheese please
"mehmuh mik" = special milk (meaning Pediasure or something flavored)
"ats TB" = watch TV
"duhees" = toys

When we say "I love you", he always says something back but it is very unclear. Brian has been trying to get him to say "I love mommy". Luc clearly says "I wuv". Then when Brian says mommy, Luc says "uh huh" to agree with him. It is pretty cute.

He has really surprised me with things he's picked up on. The other day I was trying to decide what to feed him for lunch. I was naming things he could have for lunch saying "how 'bout ham? how 'bout green beans? how 'bout...". Luc said "ow bou dahdeh?" (how 'bout chocolate) I was very impressed at how quickly he picked up that phrase and especially at how clever he was with his request. Smart boy!

Luc has really been singing a lot lately. He sings "A-E-C-E-E-E-E" (ABC) and "Pah Bible, Pah Bible" (Pat the Bible). He tries to sing along to almost any song.

And our favorite and most recent..."uhhhhh ee-uh hey" = War Eagle Hey!

Auburn memories

I miss being in Auburn so much. I went to every home game from 2000 until 2007, when we moved to Texas. We had so much fun. I wish so much that we could be one of those families tailgating every Saturday and our kids would be running around playing football with friends. I can't wait until we live MUCH closer to home.

I posted pictures last year so I thought I'd post more this year to kick off football season. Here are some fun times we had in Auburn...

Swimming

Friday, Ryan and Annie came over to swim with Luc. Ryan really enjoyed the bike.

Luc and Annie spent the majority of the time eating...and stealing each others food.

Is there something wrong in this picture?

This was my attempt at getting a cute picture of all three kids looking through the bars. They did not want to cooperate with my photography.

Kristen has more cute pictures on her blog.

Sandro, this is for you!
