Right as Kelsie left Tarin and her family moved back! Things have been busy for both of us, but we have managed to let the girls have a couple of play dates. Is it weird that we have pictures of she and I like this at this age?
The kids made me breakfast in bed on my birthday as well. Grapes from our yard and toast with homemade jam. We had a pretty low key day, but I did get to go to hobby lobby by myself, which obviously was awesome.
We spent the fourth at our ward pancake breakfast, and then an evening BBQ with friends. There were so many people in the pool, and we had so much delicious food. We seriously just kept eating all night long.
I love Sammy's form on this jump.
And this hamster wheel pool toy was super fun.
All the families brought a bunch of fireworks, but we got an even cooler show from the people down the street who had a large stash of illegal fireworks. And we had so many sparklers that the kids just kept lighting them for an hour. Peter kept lighting his and putting it straight down to the ground, meaning straight down by his toes. Poor guy got a few burns from the sparks but it didn't slow him down long.
Our day to day is pretty low key, but we do spend a couple afternoons a week at our neighbors pool. The boys have a similar stance jumping off their diving board. I took these from across the pool on zoom, so excuse the graininess.
A family in the ward moved, and we ended up with their trampoline which the kids have loved. Even grandma got in on the action. I know the picture is completely blurry, but they were all jumping and I had to post one with my mom on their too.
We also bought a pair of jet skis to take on Thads family vacation next week. We've taken them out a few times to test them out and they are a lot of fun. Andi's actually pretty good at driving them all ready.
Random summer happenings:
Thad and I went out for date night a few weeks ago and I talked him into a pedicure afterwards. He wasn't too impressed, so I doubt he'll be joining me again, but it was fun.
Also, Thad has a bad habit of not putting his toys away when he's done with them. He left his pellet gun out the other day and I found Peter with it. Luckily he doesn't know how to load it. Yet.
Speaking of Peter, he put Sammy's back pack on yesterday for about an hour and kept telling me he was going to school. He couldn't get out and eventually brought his bike in and told me he needed to ride it down to the bus stop. He's turning three tomorrow, but obviously wants to be just like the big kids.
We had a family dinner Sunday and he was more excited about the cake and candles than presents or anything else. And for some reason the picture keeps flipping sideways. Weird.
And this is the silk canvas Andi painted at art camp a few weeks ago. She loved the camp and I think she did a really great job.
Thad and I just got back from a week at girls camp with our stake and had a wonderful time. So wonderful in fact that I didn't remember to take any pictures. As soon as I find some to steal from other people I'll post them. We went as hike leaders for the third year hike along with two other couples and it was just a fantastic week. The spiritual focus of the week is incredible and does so much to strengthen the young women and help ground them in the gospel. More on that when I get pictures, but I hope we get invited back next year!
