found these gems

Hola people.

Okay, I think it is tradition to start out all my posts with this: SORRY I HAVEN'T BLOGGED IN FOREVER.
Updates:

CPD: Work this summer is......sweetness. Some highlights so far:
  • Shoveling poop from off the bathroom floor. (I don't know why someone would do that??)
  • Opening the bathroom door one morning to see a homeless man jump up from off the floor. Me, Sara and Kirstie ran and hid in our shed. When he came out and passed us he said, "Sorry, I was just, uh, sleeping there." Poor guy.
  • Pulling some freakin FUNNY pranks on the other crews....oh man it never gets old.
  • Honking at people and waving the other way.
  • Blasting Celine Dion in our truck.
Honestly, all the work we do kind of sucks. But the people I work with are way fun, so that makes it bearable. Plus I'm lovin all the cash money that I'm rollin in!

I got placed at Creekside Elementary for my student teaching! So stoked. So scared. Probably going to crap my pants when I start teaching (not really). No, I'm going to own it! I got placed in 3rd and 4th grade which are, in my opinion, the best grades.

Me and my family went to Bear Lake a couple weeks ago. It was fun, but there is freakin no beach! And there were a butt load and a half people there.

My Great Grandma Jones died last week:( She was 102 years old! I am going to miss her but she is much happier I'm sure. and I'm sure she was glad to see her lover, Glenn. He died in 1974, so she has been without him for 37 long years. Can you imagine the reunion they had?
She was such a sweet and loving lady. She would greet anyone and everyone with a kiss on your hand or on your lips and a, "Oh how are ya dear?" or "You're so lovely dear."

Growing up I remember all the birthday parties we would have for her every June. She was the glue that kept our families together.

We use to visit her at her house more often than in these past few years, and one specific visit sticks out in my mind...She couldn't see very well, and sometimes she had a hard time remembering all our names. As we went around the room and my mom was telling her all of our names and as she came to Brooke, Grandma said, "Jill? Oh how are ya dear?" We all chuckled, and then as we got to Jake she said, "Oh Joseph, what a handsome boy." And this time we all laughed, even though we tried to tell her again that it was Brooke, and Jake, she was set on Joseph and Jill.

She always looked so pretty and she was classy. It is amazing and crazy to think about all that she lived through. Born in 1909, she lived through WWI, The Great Depression, WWII....EVERYthing. And how amazing it would be to see all the advancements in technology and medicine. Wow, what a life she has lived!

Her legacy is her endless charity that she showed to everyone. I love you Grandma!

Also, wanna know something crazy? 3 of her sisters are still alive and they are in there 90's! Man, somethin must have been in their water, but whatever it was, don't pass it this way. I don't want to live that long!

Goin to the Zoo Part 2

So APPARENTLY......unbeknownst to me, "Goin to the zoo zoo zoo" is a song. I didn't even know that. Those apparent lyrics just flowed right out of my brain, but there is no way that I have ever heard this song until my mom started singing it while reading my blog
I had to look it up.
Found this.
Seems fun and normal at first...then at about 0:48 I don't really like the side camera angle.
Then at 1:02 when it shows the crowd I start having a good laugh. And...the fact that the audience is all well over 25 years old makes me feel weird out.
But when she does the bear sounds at 1:12 I lose it.

The seal sounds really top it off though.
Careful...it's pretty catchy.

You might have to be in the mood to think it is funny...or just make sure it is really late when you watch it.  There is a chance that I will wake up tomorrow and not think this is half as funny. But most likely that will not happen.

Just goin to the Zoo zooo zooo.

We went to the Zoo last week. I wish I could post pictures of their faces because they are so preciousssss. I had a lot of parents volunteer to come, so we were able to have just 3 students in a group. I put 3 of the most darling girls in my group...(please don't tell anyone I have favorites.) I love having the power to put the naughty boys in someone ELSE'S  group:) But really, I love them all.

So.......We had to put my little baby puppies down :( We just found out Sam had cancer, and he went down hill fast. Then Ginger was 15 years old...pretty much blind, deaf, had basically no teeth...but she still loved food! (I swear that is all she cared about. Screw going on walks). Here are some fun pictures I found on my computer. There are tons more on my family computer...cuz let's face the facts...I probably took a picture of my dogs every time any one had a camera out.

Okay, this picture is funny because I was always trying to be a doctor for Ginger and Sam...mostly Ginger. She got a bad ear infection from Sam licking her ears all the time, and then because her ears would itch, she would shake her head. Which then caused her left ear to become really swollen...so being the doctor I am, I took an ace bandage and wrapped it around her head so that her ear wouldn't flap when she shook her head. Genius, I know.

I love this picture of Sam...cuz he is so DIRTY and so happy.

I bet you didn't know my dogs were camouflage dogs!

This is how I will remember Ginger...after she had puppies, her fur grew all crazy and made her look like sheep. And she would always prance around when she got super excited.
K I prob have a million more pictures....like the one of them when I dressed them up for Halloween as a soccer player and a ref. (so what if I actually dressed them up EVERY year....I like dogs....OKAY???)

Rog #3 (And Trog #2)

Rog #3 (And Trog #2)

Remember this post? (you can click on the link or just scroll down a bit...since it was like 3 posts ago.)

Remember how I thought I'd get injured in week 3 and I'd be out? Well it is week 23 and 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with infectious mononucleosis. Ever heard of it? Well, I contracted that virus. And its a real bummer. Puts a big damper on things.

But I HAVE to run that Top of Utah Marathon. I just have to. Is it possible to get back in shape with mono in 5 weeks? If Lance Armstrong can do it.......so can I!!! (Wait....what??)

No, but for real life. I just don't see not running the marathon as an option. It's fine if I walk while the 80 year olds start whizzin by me. But you mark my words, I will finish it. (And if I don't, it's because I died.)

Now, for my Trog entry.

Instead of planning lessons or setting up my classroom........We do this:

Just practicing our earthquake drill. Cuz like my scout master always says....be prepared.

So once upon a time.................I GOT A TEACHING JOB.

I will be teaching 2nd graders at Legacy Preparatory Academy. So it's fine if you call me Miss Dickson all the time now. I am a Legacy Lion. Fun huh???

I serrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriously cannot WAIT. I'm so excited.

So now I guess my Rog (which was a fail) has now turned into a TROG....teaching/running blog? Yeah? You like that?

I'm so excited.

Anyone wanna donate any old books?

Hmm...did I mention how excited I am?

Unemployed college grads get employed.

Freak, yeah.

I'm so excited.
