3 Months

Yesterday was my 3 month B-day.
To celebrate, my brother put one of his new Transformer Band-Aids on me when my Mom wasn't watching.
It hurt when she took it off.
I cried.
Happy 3 months to me.

In defense of my brother, I did scratch my head with my nail and he thought a band-aid would make it better.  Thoughtful, but OUCH!

We HEART Cara!!

I am one lucky lady!!
My sister Cara came out over President's Day Weekend to see me, I mean Hudson, for a few days.  We crammed a ton in and didn't want the fun to end.  Jaden was a wreck when she left.  Poor little guy.

We had a fabulous idea of hiking Devil's Head, but tried to drive to the trail head and encountered a closed road due to snow.  Doug thought of another idea- Dawson's Butte.  It was perfect for the group we had.  We started with a picnic that was a little hectic due to the crazy wind.

My kids are obsessed with Cheeto Puffs.  They did a great job cramming them in their mouths so the wind couldn't get them.

Just a little Cheeto lovin'.  I love Bradli's reaction!

The hiking amigos.
The kids got tired of walking so bribing them with a Sonic slush worked like a charm.  They were having a great time discussing their flavor of choice with Aunt Cara.

"Like Father, Like Son"
Poor Bradli couldn't escape the male bonding moment.

On our way back to the car we met the nicest couple that had some horses.  They asked if the kids wanted to go for a little ride.  Obviously the answer was a BIG YES!!  Too bad we couldn't ride the horses to Sonic, now that would have been awesome.

Cara and I did a lot of cooking and eating!  We made lots of yummy soups and even busted out sugar cookies for Doug's B-day.  My neighbor is the ultimate baker and she gave me her coveted sugar cookie recipe.  It was quite the process, so thank goodness the results were well worth it.

Doug's B-day was on President's Day which was perfect because he had the day off.  Despite being sick (found out later he had influenza B-great!) we drove to Manitou Springs to ride the Cog Railway.  It normally takes you all the way to the top of Pike's Peak (14,110 ft.) but in the winter time it can only go to 12,000 ft.  The views were beautiful.  Who needs to go up another 2,000 ft. anyways?

How cute is the Train Depot??!!

After the train ride we headed to dinner and then back to our house for presents and dessert.

Now Cara wouldn't be Cara if she didn't spoil my kids.  She showed up with presents in hand that my kiddos went crazy for.  I went crazy over the onesies she got for Hudson- TO DIE FOR!!
Really, sunglasses hanging from his shirt

My personal favorite: tie and pocket protector
Now if that's not the cutest thing ever, I don't know what is!

WE LOVE YOU AUNT CARA!!
Thanks for coming to see us!

Breckenridge Baby!

We were lucky enough to get to go to Breckenridge with Doug's family in February.  I literally got home from Vegas at midnight, slept a few hours, and then packed up the fam for some snowy fun.  Thank goodness Doug had a head start on the packing because I HATE packing more than anything, especially all the gear that goes with snow and a family of 5.
One of the first nights we got there it was below freezing, so I stayed in with the little guy while Doug took the kids and headed downtown with his family.

This is what Hudson and I did.

Doug had to go back to Denver to work so I stayed up with the kids.  Marc took Jaden skiing so Monica and I took Crew and Bradli out to play in the snow.  There's nothing cuter than little ones all bundled up.

This is Bradli's favorite thing to do- EAT SNOW!

The next day, Marc and Karen were nice enough to watch all the kiddos so we could go snowboarding.  They were smart by starting the day off with their Valentine's Day presents for the kids.  They were all entertained with Bradli's Play-Doh and Jaden's Lego building.
Image
As you can see, it was nice and cold on the mountain.  The wind was howling, but it felt great to be back on the board after having a baby.

Just a little PDA at dinner, family style.

The next day Marc and Karen hit the slopes. . .

so we took the kiddos to the Children's Museum downtown.  I was sooo impressed with the little museum.  They packed a ton in for how small the space was.  My kids were entertained for over 3 hours and could have stayed even longer.  We pretty much closed the place down.

Miss B really enjoyed giving her brother a shot.

Good thing Dr. Crew was on call.

The kids loved dressing up and performing on the stage.

We all loved the science center where we could mix colored water.

This is pretty much what Hudson did the entire time- he's a DREAM!

Our last real adventure was snowshoeing with the entire gang.  Often times mine and Doug's ideas are not too realistic with the age of kids we have.  It started out pretty good, but when a 5 year old gets tired and the Mom is already carrying a baby and the Dad is alreay carrying a 2 year old, plans end up changing.  Oh well, we had fun hiking up a hill and then "snowshoeing" on a snow packed street.
Image

Jaden had just as much fun climbing up all the snow.
Image
Too stinkin' cute!!
Image
Pretty soon it became easier for Jaden to "snowshoe" without his snowshoes.  I became the carrier of the shoes.
