Mayercraft 2: Even Craftier

**CAUTION!! EXTREMELY LONG POST WITH ALOT OF PICTURES!**
Well...we are back! We can't believe how long we waited and then how fast it went! So sad...but fun while we were there! Everything was bigger and better then last year (if that's possible). John Mayer did SOOOO much with the fans this year that we felt like we were going non stop. We got invited to sound check with John Mayer, Q & A with JM, and then had concerts in between. We also had a day in Cabo San Lucas. PARADISE! OK, so here is a fast run down with some pics to explain and show the fun we had.

We stayed in San Pedro the night before we boarded the ship. We got to board a day early and stay, eat, and go to a special VH1 Save the Music concert. All the food was free and we got open bar! Yahoo. Do you know how many diet cokes and miami vices one can drink when they are free? We do. At the "One Splendid Evening" Concert we saw Erin McCarlie, Guster, O.A.R., Sarah Bareillies, Gavin Rossdale, John Mayer and Jordin Sparks. John and Jordin were the best! They performed together and sounded so good. John also sang a new song from his upcoming album to see if we liked it and everyone did!

The next day was when we were leaving so while the rest of the people boarded we laid out on the deck to get some rays. Then we had a JM concert on the Lido Deck where John played old songs and debuted another new one (thumbs up for "Heartbreak Warfare"). Concerts by Erin McCarlie and Guster were that night.

Our matching pj's for pj night.

On Saturday we had more deck time then went to the JM sound check. It was cool and only a certain amount of people were there so after he signed autographs. That night we went to O.A.R.

Next day we woke up to Cabo! We debarked and took a water taxi to Medrano beach where we ate and laid out on the beach.

On Monday, we had the Q & A with John. This guy is REALLY funny! Again, it was for certain people only so he signed autographs after and guess who got it? Marcie had him sign a book of our cruise last year with him and Holly had him sign her concert ticket. We felt so cool! That night was the JM concert too. It was so good! Almost 2 1/2 hrs of all John!! He talked with the audience, did a little comedy hour, sang and even signed things for the fans! He really appreciates his fans.

The next day we disembarked the ship :( We were so sad. Why does it go so fast? We had loads of fun and we are already counting down to Mayercraft 3!Image

3 Generations?

Image

Are you confused? So am I. Now, you all know this is me (Holly), my SIL, Julie, and my niece, Ayla. 2 years ago when Julie was pregnant with Ayla we went on a trip to Las Vegas and Utah. When we were walking through the casino a worker stopped us and asked if I was Julie's mother. Yes, that's right- her mother. She then preceded to say we had the same eyes (for the record- my eyes are blue and round while Julie's are DARK brown and more olive shaped then mine). But, whatever. It became quite the joke on the trip. Was the worker blind, drunk, or were we being punked? When we went onto Utah we were shopping for clothes for Ayla and the saleslady ringing me up asked if Julie was my daughter. Again?! Seriously?! Well, again we took in stride and laughed about it for awhile.
Fast forward 2 years. Still bringing it up as a joke, but it kind of died down...until... it happened again. I was holding Ayla and a man said "Ayla, is this your grandma?" Ha Ha! Not so funny anymore. Yes, I had Julie at 8 yrs old and became a grandma at 29. Now, I didn't want to embarrass the man so my brother just nonchalantly said "No, that's my sister." Fine, fine. I didn't really like "joking" about it anymore. So, last week we went to see Julie speak in church (great job, Julie!) and an older gentleman turned around to welcome us. He is so kind I was thinking. Making us feel so welcome. Then he turned to me and said, "Now are you Julie's mom?" I gave him a look and he knew he was wrong. He immediately started back pedaling, but the damage was done. Now, I know that he is probably a very nice man, but I HAD to show my annoyance. This is happening way too much. Do I need to book my botox appointment tomorrow, or are these people CRAZY?! I know that I am aging. Ever since I turned 30 I see the signs everyday. I do what I can, but I can't turn back the clock. But, I'm sorry I don't look old enough to be Julie's mom! What does everyone think? Leave your comments and if I look old enough to be Julie's mom, tell me! I can take it. My ego has already been bruised enough.

ImageOH! We can't believe it. It was so close. It even looked like Cardinals could win it. We had so much fun watching and screaming. We even made the kids cry because we were so loud. It was a great game and even though the Cardinals lost, they did AWESOME! Think they could make it next year? Here's hoping they do! Sorry, Dena and Mike! We have a dang cute pic of you, but for some reason it will NOT go on the blog! I tried 5 times! We were not dissing you! We promise.

Miracles REALLY do happen!

Image

Well, we can't believe it! We NEVER thought it would happen in our life time. The Cardinals are going to the SUPERBOWL! What?! It's a MIRACLE! Now, we aren't Cardinals fans, but come on! We got to root for our hometown team! After all, this may NEVER happen again! Not only are they from Arizona, but any excuse to get a new shirt and have a party- we are in! So good luck, Cardinals!

Christmas Day

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We did! We decided to "sleep in" this year and wake up a little later...is 5:00 am better? Bret, Julie, Ayla, Marcie and I spent the night while Dena, Mike, and Lincoln slept at home but came over the next morning. We are running out of room! It was so fun to watch Ayla and Lincoln open their presents then fight over what the other one was playing with. Lincoln loved the Elmo Live we gave him and Ayla yelled out "WHOA!" when she saw her Barbie jeep from us. She has been driving it all weekend. Marcie and I finally got our quilts made by our mom! They are so pretty. We got great stuff and we are so blessed to have a wonderful, happy family! Image
