More Snakes

Nothing like waiting 10 months to make another post, but how fitting that I can now match Ian's picture!
Image

But let me add a one up and add in a tarantula!

I wish I had time to add in even more pictures and fun things, it seems I just keep running out of time!

Beginning of Summer 2013

We sorely missed Brian at the Shakespear
reunion in Tropic, but enjoyed
 seeing family!

I know these are all out of order, but I didn't
have the patience to re arrange them, lol.

Image

Me, Ian, Grandpa Shakespear, Jim, Mikki,
John, Marlee, Alysha, and Makaylee at Bryce.

Image

Ian and Emmett, best pals!

Image

Ian loving on Marlee!

And here's where I didn't want to re-arrange.
I gotto go on a field trip with Ian to
"This is the Place" monument/park.
In the above picture he "got"
to be the one to wear the dunce cap!
Lucky him :-)

Image

And here's Ian with one of his classmates
getting to pull a handcart.  For some must
push and some must pull, and they each
had a turn to do both!

Image

And this is Ian by the train, waiting for a ride.

Image

Grandpa Shakespear provided hats for
when everyone got a chance to ride
the horses.  This hat had a mind of its own and
is permanently bent that way, lol.

Ian getting his cowboy on.

Image

Ian is quite in love with riding horses now!

Image

And it was that time of year again that
I had my work party at Lagoon.
This year I let Ian take a friend.
So here's Ian, Connor, and myself on the
tilt-a-whirl!
It was crazy hot, but we had a blast!

Spring 2013

Lots of Spring activities!
Like fishing with Mom and Dad several times,
and the fun day that Ryan brought his
family too!

We really like the new Scheels that has been
built here in South Jordan.  They sure have
some fun picture opps!

I had to go for the shark!!!

Image

Here is me and my friend Becca with Phillip
Phillips! I have won a bunch of contests lately
(such as, hockey tickets, Celine Dion perfume,
passes to Sundance at Park City, tickets to the
Bon Jovi concert, and free dinner cooked
for us right in our house!), but
this was probably my favorite.  I didn't know
who Phillip Phillip's was (sorry, don't watch
American Idol), but I was very impressed with
his music and his good attitude towards life!

Image

Ian is still so amazing!  Here he is with his
Principal's Pride award!
He continues to do very well in school.

Easter 2013

Image

Brian thought it would be fun to hide a
"special" egg for the kids' Easter egg hunt
for this year.  Ian just happened
to be the one to find the "golden" egg.
He thought it was a cruel joke played on just
him because there was a pickle inside
(and he doesn't like pickles)!
It took us a while to convince him that
we didn't play a trick on him (anyone could
have found the egg), and it was all in
good fun.
It's a priceless look on his face though!

Image

And after many years (and some tears) of trying,
Ian finally got on a horse and enjoyed it!

Image

Can't miss the photo opportunities with the
awesome rocks in Southern Utah!
Our boy is SOOO handsome!

Image

Ian recently attended his first karate tournament.
Here he is with his 3rd place trophy for his
weapons (nunchuck) Kata.

Image

Here he is with his trophy for a first timers Kata.

And here he is with both trophies at home!

Here he is warming up for his weapons Kata.

And here we are a month after the tournament at
Ian's belt test. This is called a "kung fu"

Pray never to harm anyone!

During the belt test.
This is Hanshi Darren Cox.
He  is a 12 time world champion and
is an awesome teacher!

Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas to all of our Loved ones and Friends (who are also loved, lol)!

This year for Christmas we decided we would be doing gifts of service for each other in lieu of physical gifts.  It has really brought the Spirit into our homes this holiday season to not have to be rushing around finding things to give each other, or worrying about how to pay for lots of gifts.  Instead we have spent more family time together and doing acts of service to each other that we are trying to make meaningful.

I'll attach the pictures I sent out in our Christmas e-mail card (for those of you I don't have e-mail addresses for and view our blog, and for those who couldn't get the attachments to open).  I'll also attach a few pictures of what Santa brought for Christmas (because, yes, Ian still believes and we just couldn't let him down!).

Ian was shaking his finger at us for wrapping his wii games (he got 4) in packages to trick him because they all looked so different.  He was very happy to receive them though, and the finger shaking was all in good fun!

Image

Brian received Vernor's Gingerale, his favorite drink from Michigan (tracked down here in Utah!)

Image

I have noticed many lovely friends and co-workers with cute scarves and guess what! That's what Santa Brought me.  My boss at work gave me a lovely blue one also and I can't wait to wear them!
