How to take care of a Bearded Dragon

Image This is my "beardie" Striker. He is almost 5 months old. Everyday I give Striker a live cricket - that we get from the pet store, and fresh water, and a bowl of veggies or fruit. He likes to eat zucchini, cucumber, parsley, dark green lettuce, carrots, cantaloupe, pears, and apples. His favorite is zucchini and cucumber.
Never give your "beardie" avocado, citrus, spinach and iceberg lettuce.
Mist him with water a couple of times a week.
He has to have a heat lamp and an ultra violet lamp on his aquarium. I like to see him curl up at night in the hole that he makes for himself in his sand every night.

pinning a butterfly

When pinning a butterfly you need to use wax paper. Push the wings down then lay a piece of wax paper on top, then pin the wax paper. Make sure that you don't put the pins in the wings. I usually leave it like this for a week.

This is a Morning Cloak butterfly, I found it in Big Springs Park, Provo, Utah.Image

Unknown species of moth

Image
My mom and I were watering the garden and saw this THING (two things). I thought that is was a dead leaf, but then I looked closer and it was two moths on a zucchini leaf. I haven't figured out its species yet. We brought them in and we kept them overnight and in the morning we saw it had laid about 95 eggs. One week later the eggs hatched. I kept about 15 caterpillars and I let the rest go. This moth is about half the size of a grown ups hand. If anyone knows the name of this species please let me know.

Weidemeyer's Admiral

When I was in Provo Canyon (Utah) I was hiking on a trail and ran into a swampy area. There was an island with a lot of butterflies on it. We saw atleast a hundred flying around on this island. When I went on the island I saw three Weidemeyer Admiral butterflies. I was able to catch one of the smaller ones with my net. I like the inside of its wings because it shows a tint of purple. These are hard to find sometimes so I felt really lucky to have seen three in one place. This was my first time catching one as well.

While I was on the island we also ran into a water snake. I saw the snake sliding through a bunch of sticks and I yelled to my garndpa "A SNAKE" he ran over and then it went between a big bush and we didn't see it again. We also saw a Tortoiseshell butterfly as well. We didn't get a real close look at him but I had fun chasing him with my net.
