Happy New Year!

Image

As the calendar turns and we step into a brand-new year, I want to take a moment to say thank you. Burning the Ground has always been about more than records—it’s about memories, discovery, and that unmistakable feeling when a 12″ mix stretches a song into something bigger, bolder, and unforgettable. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or just recently dropped the needle with us, your passion for this music keeps the spirit alive.

Looking back, it’s amazing how much history, emotion, and connection lives in these grooves—from late-night club classics to forgotten remixes that deserve another spin. This past year reminded me just how powerful this music still is, how it continues to bring people together across generations, dance floors, and continents. The love for extended versions, rare pressings, and alternate mixes hasn’t faded—it’s only grown stronger.

As we move forward, I’m excited to keep digging, sharing stories, spotlighting special releases, and celebrating the era when the 12″ ruled supreme. Here’s to new finds, louder speakers, deeper cuts, and plenty of moments where the mix just hits right. Wishing you a healthy, happy, and groove-filled New Year.

Keep the faith. Keep the beat. And keep burning the ground.

Hi Paul! Happy New Year!
Any chance you have ZZ Top’s Velcro Fly German 12″. There’s a Jellybean Remix which is the common one and is even on their box set, but there’s a more rare “Bill Ham Ext. Mix” version on this German 12″… can’t find it anywhere on the internet – only on discogs.
Thank you soooo much for all you do!

I just located a remastered version of J.M. Silk – Shadows of Your Love online: https://youtu.be/YfVScM1Dtm4?si=AZovQCBMs8zDtLA8 The entire history of this video is a hoot of a story. I was asked to direct this the night before (no concept, scripts or storyboards) The video crew that taped the footage of this actually got into a fist-fight with the label owner during the shoot and the whole thing devolved into a big mess. I guess I was the only one that they knew that had any experience (this was the first & last time I ever directed – I was a… Read more »

Happy New Year, Paul and to all you guys and gals 🙂
December was quite an expensive month for me as a record collector. Amongst others, I bought the 4-lp depeche Mode live album in three editions (silver, pink and light blue). Oh, and I have finally received my Frankie and Propaganda audio blu-rays from Superdeluxeedition. Fantastic surround mixes, I must say.

Keep the records spinning, Paul and Jeff and everybody around.
May the force of the 12-inch be with you. 🙂
