So, the biggest scandal to hit Moses Lake come February will be a pregnant Maria in The Sound of Music. Me! Haha. Hopefully I will not balloon out like a house before I should. I am very excited about the part and all the people I get to be with in the play again. The performances are Feb. 10-12, 16-18. I thank Brandon in advance for his patience.
Ty is so hilarious. He sings almost every song on the radio and is a very quick learner. He is also the only person who can make his dad laugh to the point of tears. It's fantastic. He still takes naps (much to my liking) and loves watching shows on PBS. I need to enroll him in a gym class ASAP cause he is so acrobatic. He continues to be the pickiest eater EVER but I still love him. Especially when he starts singing "Poker Face" out of nowhere.
I am very much looking forward to the holidays. It's a big year since we're staying in Moses and doing our own thing. I will be making Thanksgiving dinner AND playing Santa for the first time. I can't wait to get the Christmas lights up, so much so that I even drew a diagram of what I want to go where. So fun! However, I am going to really miss my family. It will be a learning and growing experience.
My pregnancy is still going well. I am going to stop binging so I don't repeat the weight gain of my pregnancy with Ty Ty. I've already gained about 18 lbs for no reason! Anyway, my next appt is Nov. 22 and we'll find out around Christmastime if we're having a boy or girl.
We're staying busy but not too busy. It's getting cold outside and dark early. I have successfully held off on listening to Christmas music so far. I love my little family. Happy Holidays!
Until Next Time......

At my 12 week appt. yesterday, I was able to get another ultrasound. I have had four, I feel so lucky! My doc uses the wand to pick up the heartbeat more accurately and in doing so I get to catch a glimpse of the baby. I got more than just a glimpse! The baby was SO BUSY! It was bouncing like it had the hiccups and had the cutest legs ever. It turned once or twice to face the front. It was so cool!!! The picture doesn't do it justice. Brandon was with me and I knew he was pretty excited. My next appointment is November 16 when I will have all the blood screening tests. Then my December appt. is when we find out if we're expecting a boy or girl! Just in time for Christmas!!
My family is coming in two days and I have been cleaning and planning stuff to do. Ty's robot Halloween costume is almost done. Brandon has done a GREAT job. I just hope Ty will wear it. Oh gees.
SO... Ty is an appreciator of Lady Gaga. He sings all of her songs with me. He is so adorable. Mom, dad and Hay are coming on Friday and staying til Nov. 2! Hooray! Their visit has to last me through the rest of the year so I hope it doesn't fly by. I have my 12-13 week doc appt on Tuesday. My baby is supposed to be about 2.5" long now. I think the worst of the all day sickness is on its way out. Every once in a while if I don't eat on time I get the dreaded urge to unload but usually it doesn't happen. Mind power! Ty has decided that naps are OPTIONAL. Great. SO with me being extra tired, I am really struggling to adapt.
I have been watching Season 6 of the Office on Netflix which I missed most of since we don't have TV (this is going to change Nov. 5, local channels only and fiber internet!!) I remember how much I love the show. My loyalty was starting to wane in the middle of season 4 but now I am back and the episodes are so great! How I have missed them! Steve Carrell is done once season 7 wraps up. Bittersweet! I think the show should also wrap up.
I have been making dinner a lot more lately but the problem is is that I have so many cravings for fast food that I usually give in for lunchtime. I am trying to streamline this! Cut it down to once or twice a week!
I got a new calling in my ward. In addition to leading the music in relief society, I am in charge of planning activities for the RS sisters. They will probably happen every other month or so and I have a list of great ideas already! My motto is SIMPLIFY. I am going to put this quote in vinyl on my living room wall:
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication"
-Leonardo da Vinci
Until next time......
There are 2 plays coming up and I am bummed. I will be 6-7 months pregnant during both performances and I really wanted to participate. Quincy is doing My fair Lady and Moses Lake stake is doing Sound of Music. No parts for belly bumps! I am 11 weeks today. Ty is now in the habit of waking up at 6 am and staying up. Sheesh! I am going to Wenatchee today to return some shirts and have some "me" time. I realize how random my blogs are. I just type what comes to my brain.
30 Rock. Love it. See?
Until next time....
I haven't blogged in a while. Sometimes I feel like Facebook takes the place of spilling my guts. But not today!
Since I last blogged I made a little discovery. Very little. I have a baby growing in my belly. I will be a mommy again on or around May 5. This time around is a whole new ballgame: sick ALL the time. I feel like it's a girl. Ty is going to be a great big brother. He is so smart and is definitely his own little person. He knows that the baby is in my belly (at least he points and says it) but I think he senses something is going to change. Especially when mommy is puking in the kitchen sink during breakfast...ha!
Carlsbad was different this year. I was feeling woozy the whole time and the water was COOOLD. I also had a realization that all of us are growing up! Having said that, we're staying in Moses Lake for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. One reason is to save money but another bigger reason is to grow up. I don't feel ready to have my own Christmas without waking up in the same room as my sisters. BUT I do get an exciting feeling being in my parents' shoes and getting to be Santa. Ty is old enough to get the concept of the whole thing and I am excited to be the closest thing to magic we have.
Whit, Jeri and Bree are all married! Baby Luke is getting so big and Ky and Drew are adjusting to Vegas and the new job. Kylee is working and combating classes at SUU and Hayli is a gorgeous and talented high school senior.
Brandon's grandparents return from their mission in April and the babe is coming in May so it will be time to buy a second (bigger) car. I love the Nissan Cube but Brandon says NO WAY. We shall see ;)
My dad retired at the beginning of October. I am excited to see that new chapter of my parents' life.
Once my sickness is over, hopefully I'll feel compelled to blog more often. Like updates on house projects (the latest: garage door opener, HALELUJAH) and graphs about how much I love my husband.
The fall makes me feel happy. Everything about it indicates it's time to start focusing on the things that matter most. Who knew weather could do that? Who knew I would get so many extra blessings this year and that there are more lined up for next year?
Who knew.
Until next time...
There is so much to blog about this summer but I don't have time at the moment! Coming soon!
Grey seems to be the color of the year for me. I love it a ton. Having said that, many of the walls in my house will be different shades of grey and I think it'll be classy. Below's the bedding I got for our bedroom which will be painted next. Haven't picked the color yet but it'll be somewhere in the neighborhood of greyish tan. Fantastic. It's by Dwell Studio which did some really cool designs and sets exclusively for Target. A store I love, yet it's so far away! (an hour...haha)

Just found out from mom that they're flying us down for Whit's wedding. That will save us a 18 hour trip (aka 2 days) in the car. Hooray! On another note, she and Ky will be here on Tuesday evening. Yay!
I love the shows Bones, 30 rock and Arrested Development when it comes to watching TV shows on our Netflix. They NEVER get old. The Office, which was one of the shows on my faves list has dropped considerable because the episodes just became so labored and way too relationship-oriented. Like if you missed one you would be confused. I miss seasons 1-3. I never got into Lost but Brandon and I also got into this show on fox called Fringe which is produced by one of the Lost dudes...I think he has a "J" in his name. Haha. Anyway, Fringe had a few really goosebumpy episodes. Haven't been keeping up with it though. I wanted to rent Avatar the other day but of course it was all rented put everywhere and I am not ready to buy it. Since we have a playstation now, we wanna build up our collection of blu-ray discs but they're still freaking expensive. Not top priority when your shoes are in a massive pile on the floor due to no shoe shelf. But not anymore! :) My genius hubby installed 7 shelves in our closet and they look amazing. I think I am going to have him install my bookshelves. One will be downstairs in the living room with the books that are more showy and nice and the others will be in the office.
I am frustrated with our computer right now which is why I am currently blogging on Brandon's laptop. Our monitor keeps flashing on and off like there's a short-out in it or something. Dumb. I don't need to buy a new one right now. No more big purchases this year! The Versa is almost to 112,000 miles and has had NOTHING wrong and I am just hoping it stays that way. I am at my best when there are no surprises of a financially draining nature. Right before we left for Russia and right before Christmas break, our stupid Hyundai accent racked up over $1200 in damage due to a broken timing belt. I don't even think the car was worth that much! I am thankful that we have the good hard working car we have.
Well I am gonna go to beddy. Sundays are good days for naps and playing Little Big Planet with my hun. I am very lucky in my life to know the things/people I know, to have the things I have and to have people that love me.
Also I have a crush on David Boreanaz. Brandon knows.
Until next time...

I miss Moscow. Enough Said.

I am head over heels weirded out right now. It is May 2010 already. My sis in law (whom I love with every fiber of my being) reminded me that I need to be blogging. It is way more accessible and easier than jotting down random stuff in a journal. My office looks like FedEx and a second hand bookstore merged and then exploded. My computer desk is randomly placed in the room and the disorganization is starting to drive me a little crazy. The great thing is is that this is now the ONLY disorganized room in my house! We are getting settled. We painted the guest room yellow and it's quite pretty :)

There will be more pictures as the progress continues. We have a sound system, furniture is where it needs to be (for the most part) and we're currently installing shoe shelves in our closet. I have decided we have too many shoes. The next items of business are a bookshelf and painting our room. I got some really good ideas from my fave magazine "100 Decorating Ideas" from Better Homes and Gardens. Ty's room is always a mess but it's not something I can really control because he is always playing with his toys. We are trying to keep them upstairs and discouraging the throwing of said toys down the stairs to see how and where they land. Our yard is looking better and better and we planted a mini garden. So far just peas, lettuce and radishes. The radishes sprouted after three days! I am thankful for good soil. No clay like in Utah.
It has been really windy here lately but I think I prefer that to the freak snow storms that are happening in northern Utah. Sometimes I feel like I am losing touch with my Utah friends so I am glad Facebook and texting exist for my use. Ty and I have been trying to go on walks as often as possible. I started work out at the golf course in Quincy and it has been a blast so far. It's great to make a little extra money and it's really easy and fun. My friends in Quincy come to visit all the time and I work with one of them also. Kylee is coming up Tuesday to live with us for the summer and her first day is May 8 at the golf course. There's a big tournament that day so we'll be on the carts taking orders. It'll be a fun first day for her. My mom is also driving up with her so we're gonna hit Seattle and go to the Experience Music Project and Sci Fi Museum on May 6-7.

My sis in law Kylie is on the brink of giving birth. She has been checked oodles of times and is told to go home even though she is having frequent contractions and is progressing in dilation. Baby Luke just wants to come out, so we're all waiting til the contractions get more frequent or her water breaks or both. We're all ready to see him!
Whitney is marrying Brandon on June 12! Their engagement pictures are adorable and I have decided I am going to be a complete bawl baby at her wedding. We'll be in Vegas June 7-16.
Jerilyn and BreeAnn are getting married too! Big year for love! Jer is Aug 14 and Bree is Oct 8. I am excited for both of them and can't wait to hang out with the fams a bunch this year.
Hayli and my mom came up at the beginning of April for the Muse concert in Seattle. We took Jayne too and Brandon came. We stayed at a nice hotel called the Mediterranean and the concert was OFF THE CHAIN AMAZING. The next day we toured around. Seattle never gets old. Neither does Muse. I'm also starting to really like Jónsi (from the Icelandic band Sigur Ros). Leave it up to my sisters to introduce me to new music I don't know how I ever did without. Hayli showed me Owl City before they were ever on the radio. Take THAT haters! haha. Also Hayli was in Bye Bye Birdie at her school. Wish I could have seen it but I know she did great.
Ty has been getting smarter and smarter. And goofier. Sometimes he takes off his diaper and it drives me crazy (like he just did 5 min ago) but he's still funny. He says "fuf" for please and "yay" for bus. He calls both butterflies and flowers "fly." He can now pretty much repeat what we say and likes to control the dvd player. When I go to work, our friend Britney babysits him and she has two little ones. Ty needs to continue learning how to share. Brandon and I subbed in nursery last week and he was a terror. He keeps the kitties busy (or they keep him busy) and he is a good healthy kiddo.
Our new ward is good. Brandon already has a calling as ward mission leader. We had no idea what that actually was until we acted wary in front of the bishop. Basically, Brandon will be working with the missionaries. No calling for me yet and I am ok with that :) We have a few friends in the ward and that makes it better. Anyone that knows me knows I have a hard time socially adjusting but I swear I am getting better. I just don't put myself out there. Getting involved in the two plays was the best thing for me. I was appointed to be on the Quincy Valley Allied Arts board. This Tuesday we will meet and discuss the spring 2011 musical and the summer melodrama. The summer play will be a blast. Me and Ky are both gonna be in it and it's a murder mystery entitled "Up in the Heir." It will run for two weekends in July. Can't wait. We're also going to see Wicked in Spokane next year. Sweeet! I still have yet to see it in NYC.
I have been yearning for a cruise or a vacation involving sun and relaxtion and food. Like in 30 Rock (I'm obsessed) where Liz goes yearly to her favorite resort in St. Barts and has a turtle that brings her sandwiches. I want that! But this year we're being good and paying off our debt. So far so good. We should be debt free (with the exception of Brandon's student loans) in a year or so. There's always Carlsbad in September!!
Speaking of Carlsbad, I am getting in shape! My weight hasn't really changed in the last year so I am trying to remedy that. I pretty much need to keep walking, keep drinking water and watch what I eat. Brandon has lost 20 lbs since Christmas! We love our gym. I've been sluggish for a while and am gonna get some blood work done on Monday to see if I have any thyroid issues. Runs in the family!
I love outer space!! Haha random but I do! It's been interesting me for over a year now. Last night the moon was MASSIVE and I loved it. We hang out with our friends Nick and Amber (Amber is also expecting a little boy) and they're nerds too :)
Well, I better go cause I have drianed my me-time and Ty is reminding me. Time for boppo!
Until next time.....

...Again! We bought a house folks! Were we looking? Kind of. Were we expecting to find something so soon that fit our current situation?? NO! The home is in a really nice neighborhood on the peninsula here in Moses. The seller was in a hurry to leave so they priced it as low as possible without it qualifying for a short sale. We were able to qualify for a USDA loan. There is a salary limit in this county and Brandon made $50 under the limit so we barely made it! Also we got locked in at a 5% rate. The rules are changing in April as far as FHA loans on top of the rates going up go so we're glad we got in when we did. We are currently renting from a senior couple on their mission in Arizona so we're taking steps to find people to take over our rent. We close on March 23 and so we'll probably gradually move everything over. A lot of our stuff is still in boxes which is a happy plus. Here are things I will look forward to:
-new black appliances
-we get to get a new washer and dryer
-garbage disposal
-storage space
-3 car garage
-fenced backyard
-fiber optic internet
-really close to the lake
-room to grow
-family neighborhood
-new elementary school
-upstairs laundry
-opportunity to paint and design
-places Brandon can put his airplane stuff rather than on the guest room bed (haha)
-plenty of room for guests!!
I feel like we have been really really blessed. Brandon also just received a raise after a salary re-evaluation at REC. I feel like we're where we are supposed to be.
Now I would like to talk about the plays. I am LOVING EVERY MINUTE. I have met so many great people. It has made my transition so easy and enjoyable. Next week we are running Guys and Dolls every night with our first performance on Saturday!!! Whenever I am not at Guys and Dolls I am at Hello Dolly. I got all my costumes and it was a blast. The Richland Light Opera is lending them to us and they are amazing right down to the gloves! I am so lucky to get to work with such talented people. Katie is coming up for the Feb 20th performance, my parents along with uncle mike and aunt terri (also our fearless realtor) on the 25th, and Kylie/Drew, Lori, and Kylee on the 26th and 27th. I was excited that they wanted to see it twice! Hopefully we do a killer job! :) I am so grateful my family is coming up and supporting me. How I love them. Brandon will go Fri and Sat too :) He has been so helpful and supportive and I love him for it.
Kylee is coming up for the summer to work with me at the Colockum Ridge golf course in Quincy. We're gonna help out at the restaurant and pro shop after it gets a face lift and new management. Should be really fun! We're also going to be in a melodrama and possibly in a singing group for a summer showcase in Moses Lake. I am looking forward to warm weather now. But NO COMPLAINTS as we have had no snow! Such a nice change :)
Brandon is liking his job and all is going well. We will be sad to leave our 5th ward but it will be ok. We're going to the Muse concert in April with my mom, Hayli, Brandon and our babysitter (practically my little sister now) Jayne. Can not wait!!
I am getting excited to move and to perform. It has been a great start to 2010. Still trying to lose weight. So far I've only lost 6 lbs since new years.
Whitney is getting married!! June 12! So excited and we all love her man...his name is Brandon too...go fig! We're gonna take a 2 day driving trip down and take the long way (via the coast) back home. Brandon is being wonderful and willing to fly down for her special day.
Ty will be 2 next month! Time certainly flies unrelentingly! He is so so smart. He says see ya, mama, daddy, bye, apple, boppo (food), uck (truck/car), eck (milk), ut (blanky) and he understands practically everything we say! I can't keep up with all the things he is learning.
I can't believe February is in full swing. This year may very well pass by in a blink. Well, I'm ready for it! Bring it on!
Until next time....
It is January and 2010 didn't take long getting into full swing. I'm in Guys and Dolls in Quincy and Hello Dolly here in Moses for the stake. Guys and Dolls is Feb 20,21,25-27 at Quincy High School and Hello Dolly is March 11-13 at the Wallenstein Theater at the Big Bend Community College. Crazy! It has been a blast so far getting back on stage and I've made some good friends. Brandon's job is going well. It is growing! They want to hire more engineers soon and it seems like everything is going well. They are getting another plant online. We wish our friends Chris and Monica from Ogden would move up here and be engineers with Brandon but we shall see. Even though we're not QUITE in the market for a home yet, we have been looking. There are certain parts of town we really like and are very excited to pay off ALL of our debt by next year with the exception of Brandon's school loans. Yay! Before we moved we donated Old Blue to the National Kidney Foundation of Utah so we just have the Versa and borrowing Grandpa Harrod's truck. I have two church callings. Beehive teacher and activities committee. Brandon is elders quorum 2nd counselor and on the committee with me. So far so good. Sorry this blog is jumping all over the place. FAMILY UPDATE: Mom and dad are doing spiffy. Dad is retiring this year!! Yay! Whit's boyfriend Brandon (aka Beef) came home from his mission in December and things are going well with them. Ky is at school and thinking about living with us for the summer and working. Hay is still doin the high school thing. Drew and Ky are preggers with a BOY!!! He is due June 6 and I already love him. He and Ty will be best buds. They are in Cedar and Drew graduated from SUU!! Ky is being a nanny. Bree is engaged to Jeff and they're getting married May 8! Brandon and I took their engagement photos. Jer's missionary, Brandeis, returned from his mission this month and last I hear they're doing well and taking things slow :) Lori and Ron are getting ready to rake in more grandbabies!!
So I have been in the travelling mood. I want to get out of this January weather and go to Hawaii!! We have plans to go to Seattle in March with our friends Rosalie and her hubby Michael. In May we have 2 (possibly 3...refer 11 lines up...hehe) so I'll probably make a 2/3 day trip and drive down with Ty Ty and stay with Katie halfway. I want to drive back home by way of the coast and possibly bring Kylee back with me. We shall see how it goes!!
I'm gonna try and train for a half marathon either at the end of the summer or October-ish. I need to get in shape first! I wanted to lose 10 lbs. by Feb. 11 but so far I've only lost 2!! But who knows when baby #2 will show up. We're kind of keeping that open-ended. I miss Vegas a lot (yes and sometimes Utah) but I am getting used to things here. It will be infinitely better when we have our own place. I'm trying to stay involved. Brandon and I go to the gym when we can and I take Ty to play group on Tuesday mornings. I like driving around and getting my bearings and just seeing what's around. So far so good. I'll try and be better about blogging :)
Until next time.....
