LICE!!!

The week after Spring Break, we discovered after Church that Brooklyn and Brenna had LICE!!! It was an awful feeling. My skin was crawling, my scalp was itching, and we went ALL out. We went through several treatments, finally needing a prescription package. We bagged ALL of their clothes, bedding, toys, EVERYTHING! Then we slowly washed everything. We also had to vacuum everything from carpets to beds to pillows and couches. It was a VERY long and overwhelming week.

Ryan did find a dead louse on my head, and so I went through the treatment also. I had to go shower cap incognito when I picked up Cannon from school. Pretty picture right?

It was a good feeling to know we were all in the clear. We still played it safe for a while, girls in tight braids and cleaning obsessively.

Wichita Mountains

One Saturday, while the temperatures were still mild, we met some friends at the Wichita Mountains. We had a great time looking around the visitors center, spying on buffalo, and hiking the "mountains" closest to us in Oklahoma.

These dads were friends when they were little kids. I love seeing these guys with their babies.

What is a hike without an injury?!? Cannon biffed it on our way back, and upon first look we were worried at how deep one of the bigger gashes was. Thank goodness Nurse Tori had items to clean him up, but he had to be carried back to the car.

During these HOT summer months, I thought I'd post our pictures from sledding in the deep winter in Utah. Doesn't the snow, jackets, gloves, hats look so appealing? Our kids had the BEST time sledding with their cousins when we were out there in January.

I know it was almost 6 months ago. That just shows how FAST these 6 months have flown by. It is amazing. Although it's "ancient history", I thought I'd reminisce. I hope you enjoy!

May in Oklahoma

It has been a LONG, devastating, uplifting, exhausting week. There has been awful destruction, and touching stories of survival. There is so much need, and Oklahoma is stepping up. There was an immediate need of bottled water, Oklahomans jumped into action that night, and the stores were empty of bottled water. It seems like anytime there is a need broadcast, like clean up tools, storage tubs, gloves, they soon have to come on the air to say "The need is met! Here's the next need!" It is overwhelming to see how amazing our community is. We don't need FEMA, we have churches.
