While I was in the northwest

Amanda had a very busy weekend, which meant Kevin and Alayna also had a very busy weekend.
Amanda had her 1st basketball game - a defeat.

ImageThen she performed in a play that was part of her Super Saturday class. She was the monster, Caliban, in Shakespeare's "The Tempest". Unfortunately the main character, Prospero, didn't show up so an adult had to fill in for him.

Here is a little clip of her performance - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61SCxnTPZ5A
Then she had her piano recital.ImageShe is playing "Surfboard Boogie" on this clip -
I felt so bad missing all these events, but . . . thank goodness for video.
A special "thank you" to my husband for being able to handle all the activities and girls while I had a very fun "girls" weekend in the NW.

Rabecca's having a baby

While we were in the northwest, Rabecca's baby shower was planned. It was so nice to be included in the party and it was special to see people I haven't seen in a long time. Rabecca is having a boy that is due in mid-January.ImageImageImage

My dear Aunt Corann turns 65!

My next big adventure was leaving the family behind and flying to Seattle with Raelynn. We were headed out west for a surprise 65th birthday party for our Aunt Corann. It was so much fun surprising her! The west coast sisters did most of the planning of the party. It was arranged that Aunt Corann would host a long scrapbooking day. RoCinda went over earlier in the morning to help rearrange furniture and set up tables. Then she took Aunt Corann out for a birthday breakfast. As soon as they left Corann's house, the rest of us (Mom, RoCherra, Rabecca, Raelynn, Randee, Ashlynn and I) "broke" into Corann's house and started setting up for the party. We had balloons, flowers, cake, nice gifts and gag gifts. We also moved in our scrapbooking stuff and suitcases to spend the whole weekend with Aunt Corann. Little did she know! RoCinda and Corann came back from breakfast, got in the front door and SURPRISE! It was fun to all be together. We spent all day Friday and Saturday with Corann and then went to meeting together on Sunday. So much fun for a special person in our lives! ImageImageImageWe put together a scrapbook of Aunt Corann's life and then personal pictures/pages from each one of us and pages from the great grand nieces and nephews. Thanksgiving

We enjoyed a long Thanksgiving weekend with Troy, Raelynn and kids. The kids had a blast playing in the basement - floor hockey, playhouse, air hockey, etc. Raelynn put on a beautiful meal. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures, but it was delicious and beautiful. The guys got a lot of football in and Raelynn and I got to talk. The olive thieves caught in action. Image Special cousins!
ImageImage We toured the Benjamin Harrison house. He was the 23rd president from 1889-1893. This house was built in 1874 and at that time cost $24,818.00 dollars. The adults were very surprised at how well the kids did and the information that they remembered.

Halloween visitors (and not just trick-or-treaters)

Finally carving pumpkins before trick-or-treating.ImageImage

Trick-or-treating with our neighbor friends that were visiting their Dad for the weekend. We miss them. We didn't have as many trick-or-treaters as we usually do.Image Tina and Merlin (Kevin's brother) came for a weekend visit. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit after trick-or-treating.
Everyone (but me, I was working) visited the Serpent Mounds. The Serpent Mounds are earthworks shaped like a snake. They were built by the Fort Ancient culture in 1000 A.D. ImageImage
