About the challenge
The CAD Challenge was created to help aspiring designers gain experience in creating products. We are a team of UC Berkeley engineering students who are passionate about helping our fellow students gain practical, real-world product-designing experience using CAD software.

If you've signed up on our Devpost, make sure to also fill out our registration form so we know you're participating.
Requirements
What to Build
Create a quality of life invention to help mitigate a common problem you’d face. Design for convenience, and design as if it’s a product you would market to others. Also, create a short video (2–3 min) or slide deck (3-5 slides) pitching your product to us/explaining how you made it.
Submission Requirements
A more complete description of what each deliverable should include is on our website: https://sites.google.com/berkeley.edu/the-cad-challenge/competition-guide.
Your Project can be as detailed as you like- note that Projects are visible by the public- but ***judges will only be considering the "File Upload" in the Additional Info section.***
As your File Upload, upload a ZIP file containing the following folders:
1. Create a folder titled "CAD FILE". Upload all .stl files and assembly files that are required to open the CAD for your project.
2. Create a folder titled "RESEARCH DOCUMENTATION". Upload the .pdf of your 1-2 page documentation. Your documentation must include all AI prompts used; this will not count towards your page maximum limit. See website for more details on the AI policy.
3. Create a folder titled "PRESENTATION". Upload ONE of the following: a) an .mp4 that is 3-5 minutes of length, OR b) a .pptx or .pdf that is 3 slides long (+1 title slide permitted).
Lastly, during submission, you can choose to opt into the Mittens Award, presented by Digital Odyssey, if you believe your project supports robotics/programming/streamlining workflow.
