And I'm back...

I have not even checked my blog in almost a year! It takes a lot of motivation for me to sit down and "blog." On the other hand it is a great way for me to stay updated and in touch with my family and friends so far away. Lots of things have happened since I last made a post. I'll review: August 2012 - I graduated from Utah Valley University in Exercise Science, Yay! - A week after I graduated I met my husband in Midland, TX, where we lived in a little apartment for three more months while he completed his internship with Chevron. October 2012 - Cam received a full time job offer from both Chevron and ConocoPhillips in Houston. We chose Chevron. November 2012 - We moved back to Utah until January. Cam was finished with his internship and wrote his thesis in Utah while I worked at my favorite physical therapy office! It was so fun to be back home with family during the holidays! By the end of our "vacation" I was ready for some warm southern sun! January 2012 - Cam and I moved back to Texas. He started his FINAL semester of grad school and continued to work on this thesis. This thesis thing consumed our life! Cam was constantly writing and working on it. It was a beast!!!! Spring of 2012 - Cam worked on the thesis and went to school, every day, Mon-Friday and some Saturdays. I got an awesome job with ConocoPhillips as a Wellness Specialist. I love my job and it motivates me to do more of what I love, exercise and stay healthy! Also during this time we began house hunting. May 2012 - Cam GRADUATED!! Best day ever, next to our wedding day. The beastly thesis was out of our life forever! Cam started full time at Chevron. We finally made a decision regarding houses and we chose to build. It happened to be in the first neighborhood that we started looking. There were a few things that were a MUST for me to buy a house. I realize that this is our first home and we will eventually move again, but there were a few must-haves. 1- I hate moving, I have no desire, nor plans to move again for several years, therefore it must have enough bedrooms for growth and visitors. 2- I love Texas, but I hate the back yards. There is so much space here, why must the back yards be smaller than my walk-in-closet?? Growing up I was lucky enough to live on a few acres with plenty of land around so I really want the same now. Not happening with the neighborhood we chose and Cam's commute to downtown. Eventually people, I will get my little Texas ranch. As for now, the lot we chose will do (thank you husband:))and we decided to build a 4 bedroom house. I actually really love my floor plan. Come mid-fall we will be homeowners! Can't wait!

Hopefully I will blog again before we move into our house, but until then love ya'll!

Dear school...

Dear school, Please hurry up. I've got 14 days, 7 tests, 3 papers, 2 awful self created study guides, 2 statistics labs and 1 chemistry lab left. I am really really burnt out and most importantly, I would like to go see my husband. That is all. --Jaynee Joyce

Today I finished my first half of summer semester! I can finally take a breather, that is until Monday when classes begin again. I have 7 more weeks until I graduate!! August 10th cannot come fast enough! 21 credits in two summer blocks is proving to be quite the challenge. There have been many days where it is 9:30 pm and I am just leaving the school after being there for 12.5 hours. Today I had finals in Exercise Physiology and Research Methods. For the Exercise Physiology final we were allowed to use one side of an 8x10 piece of paper to write notes for the test. After studying for Research Methods, I stayed up until 3am studying and making my note sheet for Ex. Phys. 110 slides and 3 chapters later my sheet was finished. This morning I took it out of my folder to take a pic of it for Cam because I was so impressed with my work. I was almost late getting to class and when I finally sat down to take my test I realized that my sheet was at home. My heart dropped. I asked my professor if I could go home and get it. He asked if I had my notes, which I did. He asked the class if it would be ok if I used my notes because my sheet was at home. I owe my class big time because they all said it was ok. Then I remembered that I only had half of my notes because I let another girl borrow them when she was gone. Just my luck!! Thankfully I had studied enough that I didn't really need my sheet, but it still made me panic! Image

Hello Utah!

Hello Utah, I'm back! But not forever, just until August. Cam and I are back in Utah for the summer to work on school stuff. Cam will be in southern Utah, by Lake Powell, working on his graduate thesis research and I will be finishing school at UVU. Hallelujah, I will be done with school this summer! It is such a nice feeling, even though I will be working on 21 credits worth of classes. It is all worth it!! When I finish this summer Cam said he'll take me to Disneyland or buy me a bike(so I can work on my next goal, a triathlon! It is really nice to be back home and see my family! I missed them lots! I like Texas too, it is much warmer than it is here right now, but nothing compares to home!

Goodbye #18

Cam and I are Colt fans, mostly Peyton Manning fans. It was a sad day last week when the announcement came that the Colts were going to let Manning go after 14 years together. Cam bought me a #18 Manning jersey for my birthday two years ago so we could match while watching games together (that doesn't happen often). So for Cam's sake, here is our tribute to Peyton Manning.

Good luck Peyton Manning!

The last few months...

I'm really behind on my blogging...again. I forget to update. And now it is well into March and I haven't blogged since December, oops. Life has been really busy and fun the past couple of months. I'll begin with December: 1) Welcome home Elder Wilson!! In December my little brother Jeff completed his 2 year mission in Everett, Washington. The morning of his homecoming talk I flew home and surprised my family. Nobody knew except my dad and Cooper, who picked me up from the airport. It was so fun to see my family and hear Jeff's talk, I missed them all so much!! The only bad part was Cam couldn't come with me on this trip. I played with my family for a few days until Cam and I flew into Denver to spend Christmas with his family. 2) Christmas! Cam and I spent Christmas with his family in his parent's new home in Denver. It snowed so while we were there and it was so weird to see snow for the first time all winter because we don't get snow in Houston:) We went sledding and of course Cam and I popped Ty's new tube! For Christmas Cam gave me a HUGE box and I had no clue what was inside! It took me forever to open because of all the layers of boxes and tape! There were even rocks in the boxes, haha. When I got down to the final box I found a picture of Cam's nephews. I just could not understand why Cam would give me a picture of Bryce and Kyler- as much as I love them I didn't get it. Finally Cam told me to look closer. I did and I saw my deer. For Christmas he had gotten my deer head mounted and it looks awesome (currently up on my living room wall!)!! Thank you to all who helped with this awesome gift! Cam and I also were able to talk to both of our brothers who are serving missions. Logan is in Argentina and my brother, Brad, is in Iowa. It was so great to hear from them! The next day we flew out to Utah to spend the rest of the break with my family. It was a wonderful Christmas break and it was so good to see family and friends! 3) New place! When we came back from Christmas break we moved into our rental house. It was so nice to get everything out of storage boxes and decorate our house. Cam and I are REALLY behind the times and we barely started watching the tv series Lost. Yes, I know that it is a thing of the past, but we decided to start watching it and now we're hooked. The only bad part is we know how it ends, haha. We also started a new semester in school. I am really enjoying this semester so much better than last. Cam has night classes and I have mine during the day while he is at work. 4) Valentines! The week before Valentines came surprised me with a ticket to go home. So the next weekend I flew home and visited my family and friends. It turned out to be the perfect weekend because I was able to go celebrate Schaefer's birthday at Los Hermanos with the girls, attend a family baby blessing and of course go to Cookie Night. Perfect. I have the best husband! 5) Off to the Horse Races! Cam and I discovered a great date night- the Horse Races at Sam Houston Park! We've gone twice and it was so fun! It was both our first time to a horse race so we had NO idea what we were doing! Luckily they have "Rookie Class" to teach newbies how to read the programs and place bets on the horses. I think it was beginners luck because we won like $20, haha. The second trip was with a big group date. We were able to eat dinner and watch the race. Cam and I didn't have as great as luck, we only won $0.40. bad bad. Big winners or not, it was fun and we will for sure go back to the horse races. 6) Spring Break!! Spring break couldn't have come fast enough! Both Cam and I were getting a little burnt out with school! For spring break we are in Utah, but not together:( BOO!! He had to go to southern Utah in no-mans land with his research group for school and begin research for his thesis. I on the other-hand am visiting my family. It is so nice to have nothing to do for a week! Mother and I are running a 10k race in St. George this weekend, which should be nice. I love St. George.

On the Move Again...

Once again we are on the move, but this time we are just moving just a few blocks away (thank heavens- unless it's back to Utah:)) Cam's parent sold their home and will be moving to Denver next week. Cam's grandparents were so kind to let us ALL move into their house until the Griffin's leave for Colorado and we move into our rental home. That move will take place after the new year. I feel a little homeless, but nontheless I am really grateful for Cam's grandparents for letting us stay with them for a few weeks or Cam and I would be living under the freeway over-pass with the homeless people of Houston, haha jk:) I just like to joke about that. This is the most in my life that I have ever had to move, I'm begginning to become a pro at it (that is so sad!), haha. My dad likes to refer to this as mine and Cam's mission transfers because we are on our mission to finish school, lol, I love my dad!
