This website aims at providing information about regular pictorial cancels offered by Canadian post offices across the world’s second largest country, excluding first-day-of-issue cancels. Canada Post offers a wealth of beautifully designed pictorial cancels, but collecting them can pose particular challenge, as the very few online places such as this excellent blog post from Stamp Raider and Canada Post’s repository where cancel information can be found are far from being complete, not to mention they all miss crucial information regarding cancel dimensions.
This site aims at filling up the information gap. To navigate this site, click the 3-line icon at the top right corner of this page. You may choose to view the cancels by provinces / territories, or by keywords (tags) that spell out the subject(s) of depiction in a cancel. You may also use the search function to find a particular cancel.
In the following Google Map, dots marked by colour red denote the post offices whose cancels the site administrator and other contributors have measured with a physical ruler, while those marked by colour blue denote those that haven’t been measured. A green dot refers to a currently travelling postmarking request; the information about the cancels available at that particular post office should be updated soon.(*) Grey dots show expired cancels. All measurements are done in millimetre (mm).

(*) The yellow colour indicates that there is a conflict between the information found on Canada Post’s directory and Google Map regarding the post office’s address. Right now it’s the Canada Post’s version that’s written in the description field of those post offices.
