Finally found the mutton busting pics. Please ignore the fact that they are almost 3 months old now. Ty busted out of there hanging on tight!
ImageHis ride didn't last much longer than .8 seconds, but Aunt Toni caught every bit of it with her camera!
ImageThe best picture was the one after this - a direct face plant in the dirt. It's hiding in the laptop and I can't find it. Someday.
Anyways - we were so proud of our brave little buster!

We are having much happiness lately.
Can't you tell?
ImageOK - so, it was less than 40 degrees, the fish were NOT biting, the wind was blowing and his parents had slightly forgotten that fishing trip would overlap with dinner time and were under-prepared (apparently even "red chips" don't cut it when you're starving).
And mom kept taking pictures.
ImageStill, it was our first chance to go out in our new boat! Luke and his dad bought a little fishing boat together. Each trip out has been a learning experience (leaks, dead batteries, no food for the three-year-old), but it seems to have been worth it.
ImageTy's Halloween wishes vacillated between a robot and a football player. The psycho right-brained side of me really wanted to try creating a robot costume, but he made a firm decision the few weeks before and my hopes were dashed. It's OK. I'm over it. Almost.
His two little cousins (Ryker the cow and Rigden the chicken) came over and did the route around our block with us. They were troopers - all dressed up, being dragged around outside and they didn't even get to eat the candy.
ImageI know I still owe you mutton bustin' pictures and probably a lot of other things. We'll save all that for my next post. In two months.

ImageAugust was nuts-o. We had various things for my little sister's wedding - this is us the day of, waiting our turn for the professional pics at the Bountiful Temple.
ImageCounty fair festivities included mutton bustin' for this little cowboy. He hung on the best he could and made his parents SO DANG PROUD (I thought he'd chicken out). More pics of that to come.
ImageThere was also a Rowley Reunion. The two goobers pictured above were on one of the losing teams for water balloon golf - in fact, I think they lost the worst. My team consisted of Nick, Chase and Lindsey and we kicked everyone's bums because our OVER THE HOUSE throw was successful on our first attempt. We rock.
ImageOn the last day of the fair we dragged our tired butts to the rodeo - it was fun, but I think after a weekend full of reunion, carnival, baby blessing, kickball, 5K race (pics of that to come too), four wheeling and probably more that I can't remember because it all happened so fast and at once - WE WERE DONE.

ImageYeah, well, still workin on the whole summer vacation update thing. Sorry. That little dot in the water is my husband - lost in his fly-fishing world at Kolob Reservoir. We borrowed his dad's camper trailer (bad idea - many swears, much yelling, small dent in newish truck) and camped at Kolob (good idea - kid thoroughly entertained, me thoroughly entertained, husband thoroughly entertained) for the 24th of July.
ImageThese two have a love-hate relationship. For the most part, it's love...until Orvis sneaks in a lick or steals a toy.
ImageWe fed ducks, read books, fished, played games and ate (duh - I hate it when people say that's what they did, but it's so true - food is always a highlight).
ImageAnd we bonded.

ImageMy brother and his family were visiting the hometown too. Us "adults" took a four-wheeler ride (where I really did almost die, but my husband saved me by not letting the four-wheeler fall on me). This shot was not as easy as it looks.
ImageFirst, the brother was too slow and then too impatient and then the husband was confused.
ImageThen, the boys were abusing their privileges and taking pictures while the girls waited and visited (some of us are quite expressive while speaking). There were about 3 more of these types of photos, but I didn't want to embarrass myself by posting them.
ImageFor some reason, I was the ONLY ONE with a dust-face. Everyone was jealous.

ImageNext on our list was a trip to Kennecott Copper Mine. We met Luke's sister and her two boys at their house, then headed out. I've never been there and it was pretty cool. We printed a coupon off the website, so it was even FREE. Wow. My boy loves trucks, tractors, dump trucks, graters, cranes, excavators, backhoes and dirt and he saw all of those things, so he was obviously content.

ImageOn to the Fourth of July. We went to the Kaysville parade again this year and totally made it out of there in time to miss the town water fight. I found my heart rate increasing as the parade neared its end and I saw grown men in swimsuits and rashguard shirts dragging garbage cans full of water to the sidewalk and manning their positions ON TOP OF BUILDINGS along Main Street. I was pretty sure we were gonna die - or just get soaked - but we didn't because we were literally RUNNING to our car (it also may have been raining...maybe that's why we were running...I can't remember...it was stressful).
ImageSister and her fiance - they were officially engaged the day before the Fourth...so that would be the third.
ImageTy and Grandma are parade pros - she's very good at getting attention and therefore any type of swag and he's quick and sneaky. Ty decided he needed to explore the other side of parading and that we would have our own parade when we got home. He and Grandma loaded up the wagon and we set up our chairs on the parade route.
ImageAfter three or four passes, the wagon full of ramen noodles, bead necklaces and fruit snacks was empty and our laps were full. Best parade ever.
