Carolina part dois....

After our time at the coast we headed inland for a much anticipated visit with Larz and Marty. After living close to each other during most of our marriage we mave missed them SO MUCH since we all moved last fall. We enjoyed the beautiful sights of Winston-Salem and Wake Forest University and even enjoyed some seriously delicious Southern Fare with shrimp and grits. Most of all it was just good to be with Laura and Marty. How lucky we are to consider our family our very best friends.

Sweet Caroline....ba ba ba.....

When Amy suggested we have a traveling get-together for our friends every few years I thought it was a great idea...admittedly I also thought no one would come. To say I was pleasantly surprised at Christmas when I found out most everyone had already purchased their ticket to North Carolina would be an understatement. And I've been anxiously awaiting Spring Break ever since.

Our first traveling green party (a party created by Cass and Ames 5 years ago that has turned into quite the tradition) was such a success! In case you don't already know.....close friends and a beach house are an AMAZING combination. Amy and Clark exceeded all of our expectations with what I don't hesitate to call a perfect weekend.

As we spent time with our dear friends I couldn't help but be impressed that I met most of these fantastic people almost 10 years ago as a freshman at Ricks College - with new spouses and children just adding to the fun mix. And here we were - all those years later- still enjoying each other. One night a few of us found ourselves talking about life and it's accompanying trials. Over the years we've seen - and continue to see - each other go through a myriad of difficult situations. As we talked the thought came to my mind that undoubtedly at that same moment people all over the world were thinking of their personal hardships and that for many the list probably included loneliness and lack of true friendship. I'm so grateful for true and long-lasting friendships that consistently make live wonderful despite it's challenges. And I'm grateful for North Carolina in the spring for bringing us all back together and reminding us just how good we have it.

Austin at night with friends....

Austin is quickly becoming one of my favorite cities. On Saturday we hit the town with Chow and Russ and hit a favorite spot or two. I mean really, who doesn't want to buy fresh cupcakes from a bus?

Baby Ty.....

Welcome baby Ty! You made it! And we love you already.

I belong to the church...lalalalala....

C and I both have the opportunity to work with the youth at church and couldn't ask for better callings. LOVE IT...LOVE THEM. Here are some pictures of some recent good times such as a youth temple trip, the Young Women in Excellence program and none other than church basketball.
