Things are getting serious...

Things are getting pretty serious around here. From friends and family members having babies, to baby celebrations of our own and all sorts of holiday festiveness (ward party, caroling with friends and all sorts of other goodness), all signs point to the reality of us becoming parents sometime in the very near future! :)

Chow stared at me until I stared back! Little did we know her baby girl Phoenix was planning her arrival for the very next day!

It seems nearly impossible to do an anniversary post without filling it up with cliches, but the truth is that some cliches are just true! Marrying C is the best decision I have ever made. Our life does indeed just keep getting better. He takes such good care of me and makes me so happy. The list goes on and on! It's been a wonderful six years and I look forward with all my heart to the future with him by my side. Obrigada por tudo meu amor! Nao sei o que seria a minha vida sem voce. Voce 'e a pessoa mais importante na minha vida e sou grata por voce.  Eu te amo demais!

Highest peak? Check!

C and I have both long had a Texas bucket-list of sorts to make sure we take advantage of all the awesomeness this state has to offer in case our next adventure takes us somewhere else. One of the last remaining big items on C's list was to climb Guadalupe Peak - the highest peak in Texas. He mentioned his plan to Mike once and the trip took shape from there. Mike flew down and the boys were off to camp and hike during one of the coldest snaps we've had so far this winter! They had a great time and we were so grateful Mike was able to come along for the adventure.

Holiday of thanks.....

We stayed in San Marcos for Thanksgiving this year and it was just PERFECT. It was so nice to have some time to relax, do some fun things around here and spend time with friends. We spent the day before Thanksgiving in Wimberley enjoying the Hill Country. Thanksgiving day was perfectly spent at Russ and Chow's with great friends and wonderful food.

We love visitors......

We really lucked out in November. As a part of his national book tour, Ty was here in Texas. Connie flew down as well and we all got to spend some quality time together. It felt like the holidays! It was so fun to see Ty doing his authorly duties and we loved showing Ty and Con a little bit more of our surroundings and just having time to hang out.

I once cried over a chicken pot pie. Years ago.  True story. C was nervous when I announced not only was I going to make pot pie, but that I was going to do it all from scratch. My cooking skills (and emotional stability) have come a long way. This pot pie was a HIT and one of our fall faves.
