Well, it seems I have failed miserably at keeping up with my blog, so I decided to follow in my dear friend Brandi's footsteps and do a 'What's On My Camera' post (or two).
January 2012
At the end of January, Chris and I had a fun night out dancing in support of the Eureka High Music Students.
February 2012
For Valentine's Day, Chris had a quartet from the High School come and sing 'Stand By Me' for me. I turned bright red standing at the door, but I have to say, it was such an awesome, unique present!
When we lived in Eureka, one of our favorite things to do was take the boys to the beach. They loved being able to run free.
March 2012
In March, I was able to take a three week trip. I started in Illinois to visit my family, then I headed to Alabama to visit my aunt and uncle, and ended up meeting Chris in Vegas for a fun weekend before he
headed off on a business trip. I had such a wonderful time visiting family and friends.

April 2012
April started off as any normal month would. Chris turned 31 and the weather turned beautiful. We drove up to Oregon for one of the weekends as had become customary every few weeks to go house hunting. We had put an offer in on a beautiful piece of property just east of Roseburg, but it was a short sale and was taking forever to hear back on. The day we left for our trip Chris told me we didn't get the house. I was absolutely devastated, so when we were getting ready to drive past he covered my eyes so I didn't have to see it. He ended up turning down the road the house was on, and when we pulled up I noticed tons of cars in the driveway. It took a minute to register that it was people we knew, and when I realized he had lied to me I started bawling. It was such an amazing surprise to come up to a house warming party! Josh (Chris's best friend and business partner) had even had a ribbon cutting ceremony for us at the front door. It was a great day! In December 2011, the guys had purchased some cattle, so we were finally able to move them to the place they would call home.

May 2012
We moved up to Roseburg permanently in May, and we had lots of mice, so the first thing I did was get a barn kitty. We named her Sophie (Chris's niece Kylee calls her Cupcake), but she turned out so beautiful that I couldn't make her stay in the barn. She became our mostly-indoor/outdoor cat. I'm still not sure if she has ever caught a mouse, but that's ok because she's a love. (Sadly, my girl was hit by a car May 2013. I miss her tons, but we had a great year with her.)
June 2012
June was such a fun month! It is a time in my life I will remember forever. A year prior, Chris and I had booked a Mediterranean Cruise with a group of friends. The day seemed like it would never get here, but when it finally did we had an absolute blast. We spent the first week in Poland with Chris's family. It was so much fun exploring and just spending time with everyone. Then we headed to Barcelona (Spain) to embark on our two week cruise. We stopped in Marseilles (France), Livorno (Italy), Rome (Italy), Naples (Italy), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Venice (Italy), Sicily (Italy), Palma de Mallorca (Spain), then back to Barcelona. Chris and I both really enjoyed Rome because we were able to visit the Vatican and The Colosseum. I also loved Livorno because it was just a beautiful place, and we had tons of fun just exploring Venice all day because it was like a labyrinth. One awesome part of the cruise was meeting a couple named John and Laura. They were great people who we are still in touch with. I'm hoping in the future we can make a trip to Florida to visit them, or maybe even meet them on another cruise! I only put a few pictures of our trip here, but there are tons more on our Facebook pages.

July 2012
On July 14th I came home from a softball game to this sweet angel that Chris picked up for me as a surprise. We named her Daisy Mae. She can be a huge pain in the tush, but I just love her to death. She has quite the personality, and she brings so much joy to our home. She's also the most expensive dog we've ever owned. I mean, have you ever heard of a dog that has an allergy to cats?! I swear only one of our dogs would be. At the end of July, one of my younger brothers, Ryan, came here to live. We spent the summer and fall playing softball together, and he was a huge help on the ranch. He has since moved out, but I love having him so close by.

August 2012
In August we got to travel to Boise to see one of my best friends Kyle marry the love of his life Alyssa. It was such a beautiful wedding, and I couldn't be happier for my two friends! In the middle of the month, we traveled to Vegas for a business dinner, and to have our Bachelor/Bachelorette dinner with all of our friends down there. At the end of August, we got a barn kitty finally. He has a crooked tail so we decided to call him Crook. He does his job well, but is now an indoor/outdoor cat. If you're keeping track we are now up to 4 dogs and 2 cats living in the house. :-/

September 2012
September 1st was the best day! Not only was it my other younger brother Vince's birthday, but it was also the day I got to marry my best friend. We had so many friends and family there, and it was so humbling to know how much we are loved. A few weeks after the wedding we visited Crater Lake for the first time. What a gorgeous place! I am so glad we live in such a beautiful area. At the end of September, I got my first batch of chicks from the farm store. Having fresh eggs is so wonderful! I'm now up to 10 hens and a rooster so we've got quite the flock going.

October 2012
At the beginning of October Chris got the privilege of marrying our sweet friends Joel and Gina. They got married just up the road from us on the river. It was such a beautiful wedding, and I am so excited to see them both so happy together. Later that month we traveled to Salem, IL to attend 'Silence of the Lambs' at the Schuler's. The food was delicious, and the company was amazing. We also got to see the St. Louis arch before our plane took off to go back home. What an awesome trip that was! When we got home we added to our farm once again. We drove east to the coast to pick up 5 buffalo (we now are down to four because one of our babies ended up getting sick and we were unable to save her). They are such majestic creatures, and I love to look out my kitchen window and see them grazing in the fields. At the end of the month, Chris and I traveled down to San Diego to take part in Run For Your Lives. It is a 5k obstacle course where you are given three flags, and you have to run from zombies. If all of your flags are pulled by the end, you didn't survive. We decided to run the obstacle course first (if I remember correctly we all made it through), and then we were made up into zombies to chase down the brains. We had such a blast, but we were completely exhausted by the end of the night!

November 2012
Most of November our weekends were spent building our chicken coop. We were raising the babies in the garage, and when we started finding them all over our stuff we figured we better get to it. It took a few weekends, but was so much fun. For Thanksgiving, Chris's sister, Allison, came up to spend Thanksgiving with us. She helped put the finishing touches on our coop. We were fortunate that we were able to have two Thanksgiving dinners this year. One was spent in Philomath with my brothers girlfriend Adrienne's (AC) extended family, and the other we had at our house with her immediate family. It was nice to get to spend the day as part of a family when both of ours live farther away. The day after Thanksgiving was the Civil War. (OSU vs UO). We had a shindig at our house with friends. It was a blast, even if the Beavers lost for the 5th year in a row.

December 2012
On December 5th Chris and I got the very best news of our life. We were going to be parents in August! We had a loss in October so we couldn't believe that we had another chance. I was nervous to tell anyone this time, but once we made it to the 2nd trimester we announced to all of our friends and family. A few short days after our big, fat positive, my brother Ryan was hauling a dump truck of gravel to our house when he was rear-ended. The woman in the other car was going like 70 mph and never even hit the brakes before the collision. He was only doing 35 mph so she was very lucky to walk away with a broken ankle. If she had been driving any smaller of a vehicle, the outcome would probably not have been so good. December seemed to fly by, and all of a sudden Christmas was upon us. I think I got the worlds coolest gift from my sweet husband.
