House Crash: Dining Room

The Dining room was probably the easiest project in the whole house crash because all we had to do was paint and install a new light fixture. The hardest part was deciding on a chandelier, we drove back and forth to Lowe's and Home Depot 4x in one day to make sure we would be 100% satisfied. We ended up getting it from Lowe's.

Here are some pictures(sorry, they are all from my camera phone)

Before

(already took everything off the walls when I remembered I needed to take pics)

This is the light fixture that the builder put in....I had 5 little black shades on each light

House Crashers 2011

Do you ever watch HGTV or the DIY network????

Some of our favorites are: Bath Crashers, Rehab Addict, Sweat Equity, Renovation Realities, Holmes on Homes, Dear Genevieve and Yard Crashers....oh and Cory's favorite MAN CAVES!!!

We are pretty much obsessed!!!! We love doing projects!!! Let me rephrase, we love the idea of projects before we start and the way it looks when we are done....but occasionally it feels like we will never be done but it's always short lived.

We were inspired to have our very own house crash; we had a list of projects that we wanted to do and a week to do them(more like 4 days but who's counting). We made a list and budget of the things we wanted to do and went to the store and loaded up. We even planned our week according to the weather...smart huh???? NOTE: we started the house crash in March during Spring Break.

Here is the list we made:

Dining Room:
Paint
Replace light fixture

Master Bath:
Re-finish cabinets(from cherry wood to a bright crisp white)
Replace baseboards with 5 inch trim
Replace light fixture
Remove cabinet above toilet

Master Bedroom:
Paint ceiling
Crown molding
Lamps
Get ledges from PB for the wall above bed
Replace coax outlet(move to another wall in room)
Paint blue squares brown(decorative accent)
Get a dog bed from PB for Logan

Guest Bedroom:
Paint
Refinish dresser and nightstand
Hardware

Yard:
Dig-up the 2 trash trees(some sort of tree/bush that we call trash trees)
Dig-up 16 bushes
Install the boarder for flower bed
Plant 8 bushes
Plant bulbs and flowers
Mulch

Other:
Replace mirror in Power bath
Light fixtures(5 total)
Touch-up paint around the house
Replace light fixture above the stairs and front door
Finish craft room

Now here is the schedule we made:

Tuesday 69 degrees
Get supplies from Sherwin Williams(they were having a sale...cha-ching)
Clean bathroom and get it ready for paint
Get trim ready for paint(sand, prime, etc)
Meet Brad at Lowes with the truck
Get air compressor from Dad
Paint window seat in Dining room

Wednesday 77 degrees
Paint bathroom cabinets
Base boards(cut, paint and install)
Crown Molding(cut and paint)
Paint brown squares

Thursday 83 degrees
Yard
Paint ceiling in bedroom
Finish craft room

Friday 84 degrees
Yard

Install crown molding in bedroom
Move coax in bedroom
Touch-up paint around the house

So, where are the pictures...what have we finished??? Well, your gonna have to stay tuned to find out!!!

I clean, rearrange, organize, throw out old stuff and try not to go crazy!!!
TRY being the keyword....
