Shapes everywhere

The world of shapes is unfolding in front of my 5 year old daughters eyes. This morning she asked, "Mom do you know what my favorite shape is?" I immediately thought a heart. "You are my favorite shape." Sounded like a compliment but what shape am I in her eyes? Possibly a large round circle? She said I had an oval face with a rectangle chin and rectangle glasses and fingers. She stopped there. I began to think of all the other shapes on my body.  So happy I could be so many shapes for my daughter to enjoy.

I'm really strong

This morning while getting ready my 4 year old boy comes in the bathroom and picks up dad's cologne and says, "Can I have some of this?" I try to discourage him by telling him "It's really strong." Unwavering he replies, "I'm really strong." I had to agree. However, cologne on 4 year old boys is too much just yet. He'll have to wait until he is 5.

My blog is fixed

Hooray! I fixed my blog. For the past 9 months I haven't been able to sign in to my account or leave comments on anyone elses blog. When technology is involved and something strange happens I usually just let it be but I hated not being able to say hi to my friends that I rarely see....so I figured it out and fixed it. On another weird note my email changed my name to Rebekah Pitts one day and that one took me 3 months to finally resolve. Rebekah is my neighbor but I have no idea how that happened. I will be posting soon. So much has happened!

Little Laughs

Image
I saw a salesman walking from door to door and I really wasn't in the mood. I saw him making his way up our walk and I told the kids not to answer the door like 5 times (They are 4 years old and 2 so repetition is necessary). I was in the kitchen preparing dinner when the knock on the door came. I was so happy that my kids didn't run to the door. Then I hear my 4 year old knocking energetically on the window and saying in her loudest voice, "Hey....Hey you...You can't come in!" I got a good laugh out of that. He definitely heard her and walked away.

Wherever we go my son introduces the family. In his toddler accent he points and says, "This my mom, this my dad, (pointing to his older sister) this my best friend." Such a sweetie!

Summers Princess Party

Summer talks about her birthday everyday. If you talked to her today she would tell you she is having another party and I remind her its only 10 months away.Prince Charming was there for 5 minutes but it turns out he is a mortician and had to leave because he was on call that night....romantic right? The highlights were all the prince and princesses receiving mini makeovers, having a princess photo shoot, pinning a kiss on a frog, listening to a story from Snow White, dancing, and eating cake. I love this age because even the boys were happy to receive their princess loot bags...I made sure the lip gloss was at least blue. Stop wondering what happened to Cinderella and Snow White after the movie becuase I can tell you. They are best friends and both princes were bored running the kingdom and pursued funeral directing. Snow White helps design caskets after all she was in one until her prince rescued her.

We love Papa

Image
Papa has spent the last 2 weeks with us and my kids have been in heaven. He never tires being mauled by his grandkids....or so it seems. He stayed home with 4 of the grandbabies so Tanner and I could go to the Jazz game. When we came home the girls were having a sleepover on the floor surrounded by princess gear and the boys were sleeping under the newly constructed blanket fort that Grandpa built. So sweet!

Papa is always quietly serving others. He cooked up a delicious dinner for my family and Jess and Tyler's. He cooked bacon wrapped chicken with sauteed mushrooms, grilled garlic and grean beans, mashed potatoes, and a chef salad. It was amazingly delicious and so appreciated. We wish he could stay here foever but he is going home soon.
