Despite spending the first 60 years of his life in Washington state and earning both his BA and MA from a Jesuit university, Dan remains an authentic, faithful Catholic. Now retired in Tennessee, he writes on his website – https://aprincipalsprinciples.com – to inform and inspire Catholic parents and educators to help their children grow deeper relationships with God and swim against the tide of today’s increasingly godless and corrupt society.

Todd Federici
Todd attended parochial school and public as well. This situation makes him recall the satirical words of the late Archbishop Fulton Sheen: “If you want your children to remain Catholic put them in public school.” He attributes his faith to his parents who worked hard to make sure he had good schooling, and especially his late saintly Italian grandmother “Angelina,” for she taught him to pray to St Michael, took him on the city bus to weekday Mass with the Franciscans and gave him his 1st Bible as a boy.
Todd considers himself a “backyard” theologian and philosopher.
Having experience in the trades, Todd has always been intrigued that Our Lord was a skilled labor tradesman prior to His “public life,” and to this day would like to see more skilled labor trade courses in Catholic schools – of all places!

I would have answered Hunter Leonard’s “How do we know the Christ is present in the Eucharist”? much more briefly. The God that I know can do anything, including giving me the grace to know that He is present in the Eucharist.
Here are three biblical pillars for Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist below:
1. Jesus’s Declaration: He definitively stated, “This is my body… This is my blood” at the Last Supper.
(Matthew 26:26-28).
2. Jesus’s Teaching: He insisted on the literal necessity of eating His flesh and drinking His blood in John 6.
(“By Faith” and “God Revealed Himself”).
3. Apostolic Confirmation: Paul’s warning against unworthy reception confirms it is truly the Lord’s body and blood.
(Apostolic Witness and Teaching).
In short: We know Christ is present because He said so, He commanded it, and the Apostles taught it as reality.
I wish to contact Tom Collingwood. A mutual friend has passed away.

That’s the way I perceive reality. Fortunately physicist, lead by the Nobel Laureate Roger Penrose are realizing and publishing that human consciousness is connected to the rest of the universe.
