Reflection on 2014

It's the last day of 2014 and here is my mandatory end of year post.

This past year has been such a ride.

I was out with a friend the other day and we were just talking about how crazy fast this year has been. I asked her, from 2009 to 2014, which she thinks has been her favourite year. As she explained hers, I thought about mine. The more I thought and spoke about 2014, the more I realised just how many wonderful and amazing things I've experienced and achieved during this past 12 months.

1. Being Dance Company captain in PHC (:
2. Working with Soon to create a Overseas boarders assembly which we were and still are very proud of.
3. Not having a nervous breakdown before Evening of Dance.
4. Choreographed a quartet for my A Level Dance which I am extremely pleased with.
5. Conquered a double jazz pirouette on my right side.
6. Co-choreographed Gloucester's House Dance and WON!
7. Performed my A Level solo during the examination with the right amount of nerves.
8. Celebrated by 18th birthday at home, with my parents and the most amazing group of girlfriends I could ever ask for.
9. Put together a rather successful Leavers video for the girls in my year.
10. Surprisingly enjoyed myself at the Leavers ball.
11. Won 4 prizes at my last Speech Day at PHC.
12. Had my grandma + uncle's family + parents all attend the Speech Day ceremony.
13. Went to L.A. for my Summer holiday with my parents + uncle's family and had the time of my life.
14. Went to Ballet Under The Stars and met the beautiful Chihiro and Rosa.
15. Spent nearly the whole day at Gardens By The Bay with Lau and Swee.
16. Went back to Nan Hua for their Mid-Autumn Festival celebration and finally met Ms Kee
17. Met up with my old neighbours after not having seen them for nearly 7 years!
18. Watched Masterpiece in Motion and saw Chihiro and Rosa again!
19. Received pleased A Level results (AAC!!!)
20. Got accepted into University of Chichester for BA (Hons) Dance.
21. Won some Taylor Swift merchandise!
22. Have Amber come down to Chichester to visit me which was so lovely.
23. Spent a few days at Lucy's place and had so much fun.
24. Went back to PHC for their Christmas Market and met so many lovely old faces.
25. Got a 2.1 for my first essay written in Uni.
26. Got a FIRST for my Dance & Health presentation with my lovely dancers (!!!)
27. Got a FIRST for my duet choreography assessment with Georgia as my partner (!!!)
28. Got a FIRST for my choreography essay (!!!)
29. Flew back home without telling anyone and surprised my girl friends a few days later (:

These are only a few things that I could think of at the moment but there are more. Looking at this list makes me feel so happy. I've been through so much this year. Said some goodbyes and said some new hellos as well as see you soons.

I've felt so many different emotions throughout this year but when my mind flashes through all my memories, I can only remember the happy ones. So I guess... In conclusion, it's been a pretty awesome year (:

Yes, I do think I'm finally well and happy again. Well, as happy as I was before I took an emotional downturn. I feel so relaxed and happy and confident and strong. Yes, strong. I don't really know how to describe but it's great. I have honestly grown in confidence and inner strength. I never knew what this felt like but now I do. And it's a wonderful feeling.

I am just so thankful to be healthy, to have an able body, to be able to dance, to speak, to listen, to taste food (important!!), to feel. I am grateful that I have supportive parents, relatives and friends. I really am. I know I've said this probably a million times before but I am a lucky lucky girl. I am so so blessed. And I appreciate everything with all my heart.

Here's to an equally or even more amazing 2015.

Goodbye 2014, you've been the best.
