Snow!

Hey guys! It has been snowing quite heavily last weekend which was quite unfortunate as my central heating broke down and I have not had hot water since but that’s not what I’m going to write about today. trying to keep on the more happy side of things! Anyway, I missed the last snowfall, which was horrible a horrible experience for some (if you were in the UK in December, you can imagine why), because I was back home in tropical Malaysia enjoying the good sunshine. 🙂 This is actually my first time photographing snow so I thought it would be quite challenging to go out and do it.

So it started snowing on Friday and I just went around my place to shoot a few random things. On Saturday morning, I woke up at half six, took a 20 minute walk in the snow to Seaton park and got quite a few good shots here and there. It was a good day and was quite pleased with my results however, I thought I could do better and it gave me a few ideas on how to improve my shots in the future. 🙂 Anyway, here are some which i thought were nice. And of course, you can always view more here

I played around with the white balance for this shot. Ended up using WB fluorescent in the end with A3 settings.

Well that’s all for now and hope you all have a good weekend!

Back in the Deen

Hey guys! sorry I am a bit late but Happy New Year! I’m back in Aberdeen after 3 wonderful weeks with my family. Had really good Christmas as well as a great New Year. However, during the holidays I have been quite busy with some work including some photography work. Anyway, I had a chance to catch up with some old good friends and also did a little photo shoot for them. 🙂

Anyway, I will be pretty busy with uni now that exams are near and assignments are due. I will probably not be updating often and for that I apologise. I will still be posting up some of my work on flickr as the weeks go by, so please do check my flickr from time to time. 🙂 Wishing all of you readers the best in the new year! God Bless!

Merry Christmas!

Hiya! I know I have not been updating for quite some time and I’m sorry! I’ve finished for the term and I’m back in my hometown, Kuching. This is my first Christmas back home in 4 years so I’m very glad and blessed that I get to spend this year with my family! Anyway, I just had a great Christmas dinner and I’m sure you all had the same!

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Hope you enjoy this special day and God bless!

Blessings,
Shaun

Busy busy!

Sorry I have not been updating for quite sometime. I’ve been busy with university work which is piling up on me. So I do not think I will be updating anytime soon as I still have loads of work to do! Anyway, since it’s that time of year again, here’s a little photo of big ol’ Santa. 🙂

Transform

I’m just going to share a video that really spoke to me as a photographer. I watched this clip by world-renown photographer Zack Arias earlier in the year and even after nearly a year, every time I watch this it just motivates me to go the distance. It’s been such an inspiration to me and for those of you who have not watched it, please do. Really inspirational stuff.

Remember, your camera doesn’t have a Richard Avedon button on it.

oh and, Happy Halloween! 🙂

Finally

Finally blue skies in Aberdeen. The weather these few days has been mad. It was pouring yesterday and today the sky looks like this.

Mad I tell you! Mad! 😛

One Saturday Morning

It is official. I have not seen the sun for a week now. And today was the first morning this week that it stopped raining in Aberdeen. Seeing that, I quickly got out to do some work before it started raining again. It was a really cloudy morning so I had to shoot at reasonably high ISOs (mostly at 800 – 1600) this morning to get them right. Well, here are some which I like.
