I haven’t run away I promise!
I took on a new adventure. This wordpress blog is awesome! And I have received a lot of praise for it. So I decided to step it up a notch! I am finishing up a new version of this blog, and it is freaking awesome! It has become a complete obsession now, I eat sleep and drink my blog 🙂 Ask my kids! They are so sick of hearing about it. Not that a 1 yr old and 4 yr old completely understand, but my 5 1/2 year old does! hee hee!
So in order to complete the excitement and the big reveal……………..

Awesome Day! March 4, 2010
I just had to share my awesome day with all of you! Earlier this week I screwed my back up big time and couldn’t hardly move. Finally after sleeping on ice for the 3rd night I woke up feeling amazing. Got some much needed cleaning done and decided to go do some shopping for myself. I do, after all, have a wedding to shoot in 2 weeks 😉 (any excuse for new clothes!) In the drive through of my favorite Chic-Fil-A I went to pay and the car in front of me paid for mine! Just out of the niceness of their kind hearts. I was so touched that people still do things like this! After that it was shopping time. And I tried on my normal pant size and they were too big! Nothin like the feeling of dropping a size in pants! Woohoo!!!!
I know it’s probably not that amazing of a day. But to me it was. And I am in the best mood! Lovin Life!

I love Spring! When the sun is finally starting to share its warmth through all the snow and chilly wind. When green grass starts to peak through the frozen fallen leaves. Even the animals seem to sense that Spring is almost here!
I dropped my kids off at Grandma’s and headed out with my camera. In search of some new locations, and I found some awesome places! I seriously need to do this a lot more often. Just me and my camera 🙂

Man, I keep thinking what amazing sittings I am getting and they can’t get any better, and then they do! I know I say this all the time but I seriously feel so blessed to do what I do!
This family was no different. They are so close, and so happy and it shows in every picture. We had an absolute blast shooting. Laughing the entire time! I especially love the bond between Mom and Dad. I took so many pictures of them just being themselves and interacting together.
I tell ya what, it’s those natural interactions that always become my favorite images.
Dad just signed on with the National Guard and is heading out for boot camp for 4 months. 4 months!!! I would go crazy without my husband for 4 months! You can clearly see that this change in their lives has brought them closer together.
Makes you stop and think.
Makes you realize how much time you waste on worry and frivolous things in life.
So I want to thank you for showing me and reminding me that I need to enjoy everything and soak it all in.

Do you ever have those moments, when you are just totally overwhelmed? At the strangest moment you realize something that you’ve always known but maybe had just forgotten about for a time?
That is me today. I am just completely overwhelmed with gratitude. Gratitude for my family. For my beautiful children and for the amazing man in my life. Have you met him? This is James. My wonderful, amazing and hot husband of almost 8 years.
Let’s be honest. When you are parents to 3 kids who are all with in 4yrs, life can get crazy. You get busy. You get stressed, you are focused on providing and being the parent. So it’s nice to sit back and look. Look at what you have. What I have. To see all the love and laughter and joy that fills our home everyday.
I am just so grateful and feel so blessed today.

Another session that makes me think I have the best job in the world! Ok, I really do have the best job in the world!!
This absolutely beautiful Daddy Daughter Duo was a blast to photograph. They were naturals in front of the camera (not to mention my camera LOVED them!) Their eyes are absolutely piercing. I mean, stop you in your tracks piercing. Don’t believe me? Look below!
It was so obvious these two have such a close bond. It made me melt! In the editing process I really noticed the similarities. They hold their mouth the same way, that adorable slightly offset smile, the same expression in their eyes. Ahh, back to the eyes… Look out Dad, you are going to have your work cut out for you keeping the boys away her!
Thanks so much to you both for letting me capture you together. 7 years with no photo’s together is just unacceptable! ;P
Meet Author Kim Hanson February 11, 2010
I would proudly like to introduce you all to a soon to be published Author. Kim Hanson. Does the last name sound familiar? Yes, that is because he is my father in law. I am so excited for him and so proud of him! He has worked on this book for years and is finally making it a reality.
Of course I was priveledged enough to get to photograph his official Author shots! ! found the perfect location and had a blast!
His book is called Shadow Walker.
I can not wait to read it! Here is a sneak peek of what it is all about.
Shadow Walker is an action thriller taking place in Vietnam and Montana dealing with a half bred Northern Cheyenne young man who is a part of a society called the Hotamitaneo or the “Dog Soldiers”. They are a society recruited in World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and as late as the Persian Gulf conflict for their tracking, marksmanship, killing skills, and ability to blend into the world around them. Trained and accepted by the Cheyenne society, Jack Traylor joins the military during the Vietnam War where his skills are used as a sniper who has saved many lives due to his abilities and tutelage of a lieutenant who is responsible for the training of all snipers including South Vietnamese soldiers. Jack finds out about the drug transportation method using returning soldiers and his lieutenant is involved. Jack is setup and left for dead but survives to return to his home in Montana. Still listed as killed in action, Jack Traylor no longer exists and through a friend in law enforcement he learns of crimes where the local agencies are either baffled or unable to do anything. Heroes come when least expected and Jack comes when he is needed most then leaves unseen. His skills of invisibility, marksmanship, and hunting his targets make him a deadly adversary. However, Jack’s path crosses with his former lieutenant and pupil is matched against teacher. But this is not Vietnam…this is Montana.
In April this year he will have his own website up and running to purchase his book from. I will make sure I have it linked for all of you!
I’m Back!! February 10, 2010
Did you miss me? 😀
I have to tell you what an insane 3 weeks this has been. For those that don’t know me I am a mother of 3 beautiful (and sometimes royal pains in my you know what) children. My youngest just celebrated her first birthday yesterday! Yeah! Well, the poor thing has suffered from chronic, and I mean CHRONIC ear and sinus infections since she was 2 weeks old. At 8 months she had tubes put in and the infections became worse. It seems we live at our pediatricians office! So for any of you who have had children with ear infections you know how hard, and miserable life has been this last year. The last 3 weeks she just would not sleep! Up every 20 minutes fussing, sometimes completely inconsolable. I felt so horrible for her! And so helpless that I could do nothing! But things are turning up. For the last week or so she has been clear and happy! She had a beautiful birthday and was completely spoiled by her grandparents (no complaints here!!).
Due to her feeling under the weather, her 1 year pictures just kept getting postponed. So we attempted them yesterday…
I have also been lucky enough to have a couple incredible sessions I can’t wait to share with you! A soon to be published Author and a beautiful Daddy & Daughter. So stay tuned for picts!
I also get to shoot an awesome family tomorrow and a gorgeous Bride on Friday!
Have I mentioned…. I LOVE MY JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my word time has slipped away form me! I didn’t think it had been so long since I last posted but it sure has!
I am almost caught up with the craziness that has taken over my last couple of weeks! Yeah! So I have tons to blog about.
But for right now I want to wish my baby girl a Happy First Birthday!

Favorite Bellies! January 24, 2010
I absolutely love everything about pregnant bellies! Making a woman feel beautiful, sexy and happy when carrying a baby (or two or three!) is a must! I make it a goal to capture that beauty and glow in every picture. The natural happy that just exudes without effort. The loving bond that is so strong between the father and mother to be. The tender moments as they just bask in what is theirs. The amazing miracle of the belly growing and holding that precious life.

Looking for inspiration
As part of my New Years resolutions, I decided it was time to step out of my realm of “people” photography and look around at everything and see what inspires me.
Today I took a trip to the downtown Salt Lake City Library. Wow. I have been there once before, but in a horrible rushed run through. I did not to look around and see all the amazing things. It is absolutely beautiful and breath-taking. The architecture just captivated me. Everywhere you look it is so open, with light pouring in. Even on stormy days like today.
There is the coolest art hanging from the ginormous (yes, I said ginormous!) ceilings. These books and butterflies I just couldn’t walk away from! I thought about how much my children love books and to hear stories. How they are so much like little butterflies. Fluttering around in all these different worlds created by the worlds the books give their imaginations.

What a blessing to get to photograph this perfect little doll. You can never get enough baby! From her grabbing her toes to her always sucking her hands, she was a true delight! Not to mention the cutest little black ruffle dress and shoes!
