Puerta a puerta

That means door to door. That is what we have been doing this morning. We had the privilidge of leading several people to faith in Christ! There is nothing more exciting in the entire world than being present when a new baby is born. The natural birth is awesome - I have seen that three times. But the spiritual birth is even more exciting. Tonight we preach the gospel on the street in a community called Las Calderas. Please pray for us that God would give us opportunities and that I would speak boldly as I ought to speak.

I love you and thank God for your prayers. I will post pictures when I can.

Headed for Venezuela

I am on my way to Venezuela. I have a 24 hour lay-over in Aruba. I know, I know - the Carribean beach on a mission trip! Well rest assured, it is not very cool with me here and Wendy and the kids at home. We fly from here to Venezuela tomorrow afternoon. Saturday night I will preach in a missions conference in Coro. Looking forward to that. It is a baptist associational meeting with pastors and church leaders from the area.

I hope that you will pray for us as go. Just one quick story. I sat beside a lady from Amarillo to DFW that was a museum curator and she had just given a talk on Buddist art. I shared the gospel with her. She told me how she thought all people are basically good and looking for peace and enlightenment. She also said that all religions basically teach the same thing. I pointed out that anyone who said that had never read the words of Jesus Christ who said, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6) She told me the real problem in the world was with people that thought their belief was the only right one and tried to convert others.

Well, she didn't pray to receive Christ. But I did challenge her thinking. All religions teach DIFFERENT things about man, God and eternity. You can believe what you want, but don't try to put Jesus in the same category as the buddah! He told people he was God. This postmodern world is so wishy washy. All roads lead to the same destination doesn't work anywhere - especially not on the road to heaven.

Pray for her. She needs Christ. It is too bad that she doesn't even believe the God that created her and gave her life, and breath and all things! Pray for more opportunities in Aruba and in Venezuela.

Love you all,
Rody
