Venezuela

The following is from an email sent to TSEA Board members written by David Burk telling about our trip to Venezuela:Image

The Lord really worked in amazing ways. I was in Pueblo Nuevo. This was a place where we had partnered to help them start a mission about 7 years ago. The mission had been taken over by a church in the peninsula and then dropped. Elias[ a pastor whom we have worked with for 9 years now] had a heart to try again. The Lord had moved his daughter and son in law to Pueblo Nuevo about 3 years ago and Lorenzo [ the son in law ] has been saved and feels called to preach. Long story short, in the first two days over 40 of his family members trusted Christ and began small group studies in their homes! We saw over 60 people in the one community come to know Christ and planted much more seed. God is doing a work in Pueblo Nuevo. Rody started the trip preaching the final sermon of the associational mission conference. At the conclusion of the night, five people responded with a call to surrender to the Lord for full time mission involvement. He then began to work in a community out side Coro where another mission had been started but had gone through some difficult times and was almost dead. During his work there over 40 people accepted Christ and many others returned to the mission site with renewed commitment. Billy Frosch [ a lay person and recovered drug adict ] had a difficult first day. The translator did not show up and his time was pretty unproductive. I was in Pueblo Nuevo and did not know about his situation. He told the Lord he was not coming back [ this was his 9th trip toVenezuela ] After a restless night and struggling with discouragement God provided him with Joshua. Long story short, they got to go to the english classes at the University. Billy shared his testimony to hundreds of students and saw over 100 make personal, life changing, decisions to trust and follow Christ. It was his most productive tripever.
